I played chess dedicatedly until I was twelve, when I moved to a school where - inexplicably - nobody knew how to play. I walked into my dorm on one of my first days there and saw people treating every piece as a pawn, because "it made things simpler".
I can probably count the number of games I've had since then on one hand. Jam it back in, in the dark.
