Ayreon's "Day Six: Childhood" always reminds me of the few years before I was shut away in boarding school. I never saw much of my father when I was a kid, and this pretty much reflects that.
"Miseducation" by Frameshift reminds me of summer 2005. Might be because I was listening to it near constantly, but it was also because I had an assholish, angry, rage-fuelled English teacher for the last few weeks of term.
"Far Beyond Metal" by Strapping Young Lad will probably always be an iconic song for this summer for me - Blasting it in a furnace-like office, boiling in my flesh. Wonderful.
"A Change of Seasons" by Dream Theater brings back memories of February 2005 - HUGE unexpected snowstorm, and I'd have it playing near constantly while staring out the window. That term rocked.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
