Those are some really freaky looking creatures. I'm almost speechless just looking at them. And not a good kind of speechless. As for the list of creatures to appear in the new game, when will we finally see the baby form of Kangaskan become something besides a child in a pouch? Never? Crap.

The way I see it, we need a new combination of starting types. Maybe electric/flying/grass. No, electric's jsut resistant to grass. Hmm... Maybe electirc/water/ground. Yes, that would do fine...

Something seems wrong with not having to work at all to get a decent Dark or Psychic Pokémon. {sighs}
Anyways, this new fighting system makes me anxious. The last time they changed the system, the new Pokémon were, overall, superior to the others. Useful ones like Cloyster were noticeably not as powerful. I seriously hope this does not occur again. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Obviously, as usually is the case, one starter will be better suited for early Gym battling than the others. The early Gym structure will fall into place with whichever starter the production team wants to be better. In the first and fourth series it was Bulbasaur, with Squirtle being next. In G/S/C it was Cyndaquil, with Totodile being next. In Ruby and Sapphire, Treecko and Mudkip were about tied, unusually, at least in terms of talking about the first three gyms. In any case, there's always one of the three that is more challenging to raise. In Diamond and Pearl, I predict this to be either the Fighting or Dark starter.

Is there any word yet on how many Pokémon will be included in the games? I seriously doubt all of them will be in there, though that would be nice, but I'd really like some kind of estimation.
How ya doing, buddy? |
We get a rhino, a kangaroo, and some Hoothoot-Eevee thing? At least these beasts seem somewhat normal.

The Grass one looks interesting only because I immediately thought, "Ooh! They've crossed Chikorita and Squirtle!" If this one's anything like the last Grass starter...

Strictly looking at design purposes, only a few of the R/S/E creatures appeal to me, mosty notably Spoink (and Grumpig) and Beldum (and his evolutions). Sure, a good number of them are interesting in regards to type combination and movesets, but most look odd when compared to their predecessors in the first two sets of games. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Wait. There's going to be a baby Chansey?

I'd like the ability to go back and fight the Gym Leaders every once in a while. In Ruby/Sapphire, they were listed in the Trainer's Eyes, but they never became active again. And I love the notion of a legendary Water/Dragon.

They also seem to have included evolved forms of Aipom, Tangela, Yanma, and Misdreavus.

It could just be called Eveleon.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
That Legendary one reminds me of Armaldo.
I am starting to like some of the new designs. Is that 82 supposed to be a baby Hoppip? FELIPE NO |
I thought one of the creatures on that site looked like a Nosepass evolution.
Does anyone know how many Pokémon are going to be in this one? I am seriously waiting for the game where all can be found within the two released games. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
I meant how many can we actually get within the game(s). Maybe I'll just have to wait and see.
Oh, and the only feature I would truly want right now is multiple file-saves. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Regigigas? I think that's the first time a new Legendary has been based on old ones. Or maybe it's an evolved/blended Legendary! Or maybe, it's a Legendary that gives birth to other Legendaries! Okay, probably not either of those...
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Do they level up the same, though? In the past, trading between old versions and new versions was like trading to a new trainer. In this instance, a new trainer can catch them out right. Is the bonus EXP, lowered stat points still there for this system?
How ya doing, buddy? |
Thank you for putting together that list. So, it's a baby Chimecho, no Hoppip. And Victreebel and Lapras get alternates? I sort of see why Victreebel gets one, but Lapras? Hmm.

Undoubtedly, though, one could have a good creature to combat it.
There were eight legendaries in Ruby/Sapphire. Maybe they're making do without a Latios/Latias counterpart? I really don't want to chase things again. I was speaking idiomatically. |

Dark will only be decent if there are decent Dark moves. That's what was lacking in the past. So, if what you claim it true, this new one could be interesting.

I'm going to use logic to see which starter I should pick: Dodaitoise is Grass/Ground. This makes it weak to Flying. It also makes it double-weak to Ice. Being double-weak to anything isn't very appealing. Goukazaru is Fire/Fighting. Such a combo makes it weak to Flying, Water, Ground, and Psychic. It may not be double-weak to anything, but it has more weaknesses than Dodaitoise. Empelt is Water/Steel. It'll be weak to Ground, Fighting, and Electric. Like Goukazaru, it isn't double-weak to anything. However, it can't be hit by Poison attacks. It also has fewer weaknesses than Goukazaru. Comparing them to each other, both Dodaitoise's Ground and Goukazaru's second types trump Empelt's. Gouzakaru gains an extra type before the other two. Dodaitoise has the fewest weaknesses, but has that one double-weakness. Okay. I'm picking Poochama. As Empelt it may be weak to the other two, but it seems better overall. Plus, it looks the best. How ya doing, buddy? |
I don't have base stats. I'm saying that Empelt is weak to his counterparts. Both have super-effective types against it.
I'll try again: Empelt is Water/Steel. Dodaitoise is Grass/Ground. Goukazaru is Fire/Fighting. Dodaitoise isn't weak to both counterparts. Goukazaru may be the weakest, actually. It has more weaknesses than the other two and is weak to both of its counterparts (Water to Fire, Ground to Fire). Considering the types of the other two, though, I think Empelt might have a little trouble. That Steel type may be going to waste. So, it's not so much that Empelt is weak. It's just that it may be weaker than Dodaitoise. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
