I made a thread like this a few years ago because my friend was driving me up the wall with his singing Evanescence songs in the car. Now my niece is a pretty famous singer here in town but, unfortunately, her two younger sisters and brother think it runs in the family and sing too. SHIT.

The only time I feel it is appropriate to sing along is either when I'm with someone or someones who I know don't mind or when I'm alone. How young are the other two nieces? Depending upon the age, it makes perfect sense for them to mimic their older sister. That's how I started singing along to music. My dad and sister did so. Since one person does it and no one objects, your nieces are undoubtedly presuming it to be okay. This is especially true if they don't know that they're bad singers.
What I find annoying is when people, like my brother, turn on the radio and then do nothing but talk. If a song comes on the radio that I either like or haven't heard before, I usually can't tell what the lyrics are and sometimes even what all instruments are being used...
Jam it back in, in the dark.
