As people have said, it's fairly normal.
My first girlfriend was 'totally in love with me' at first. About a month later, she had a friend handing me a note (because she couldn't do it herself) basically saying, 'Sorry, I don't love you.'. She was young, and so was I. So a mature relationship we certainly did not have. Yes, at THAT time it hurt a lot, but looking back (highsight is so 20/20) I realize that there wasn't much substance there, and that was fairly normal at that time (as it was rarely the case that a high school continued out of high school. I can only think of one couple). She cointinued the process with several guys, which is honestly quite normal (from what I have heard) at that age.
Just move on. Focus your energy on something else for a while. Hey, look at the bright side...even if just a little while at least she proved you could have a girl friend. Now, use that confidence to continue on with things.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
