Well, it looks like the "new era grand slam champion" idea for Punk may happen after all. And wow, Taker's eyes DO tell the whole story. I think only Kane has ever kicked out of a tombstone that had an immediately pinfall by Taker.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
So finally saw Mania 25:
MITB - A decent opener that shouldn't have been the opener. This is becoming an annual match, whose consequences have had far reaching effects in the WWE the last four years. It should seriously be done either before the world / wwe title matches or in between them. Anyway, maybe I missed it, but I am surprised Shelton didn't someone fall on a ladder again. It always seems he takes some sort of insane bump that you wonder how he is still walking a week later. Interestingly, the last three men were my picks, with Kane chokeslaming Christian only for Punk to knock Kane off and win the match. I knwo people really wanted Christian, but I can see now that the WWe may very well be pushing Punk as the first "new generation" grand slam champion. Diva's battle Royal - I'm sorry, but this just wasn't a real battle royal. Yes, they couldn't bring Moolah back, but they couldn't get Molly Holly, Trish Status, Lita, Wendi Ritcher, Jackie (although her TNA contract may stop that even if she isn't on T.V.), Debra, Chyna, Terri Runnels, and that one woman who was like Chyna (the one who for a short time had an angle with Val Venis). Granted, some of those names were unlikely as anything due to "issues" and some of them weren't THAT big, but not having Molly (who shaved her head at Mania years back), Trish (duh), Lita (duh), or Chyna (she retired as champ BEFORE Trish did. In fact, she handily defeated Trish and it was noly after she left that the Trish era started) at Mania 25 is just plain screwy. Worse, they didn't bother to announcer beforehand WHO was in there. Even the announcers during the match weren;'t sure until near the end. The ending was amusing with Santina's dance and all and in a lot of ways fitting because this truly wasn't anything representative of Mrs. Wrestlemania. No wonder Trish and Lita declined. Matt Vs Jeff: A decent brawl / crazy moves type of match. The "one risk too many" deal is ironically what started their first feud way back in 2001/2002. The Twist of Fate on the chair was neat. A good match all in all. JBL vs Mysterio: If anything, JBL sold him quitting (and being surprised by it) extremely well. HOF Thing: Fun to watch. I didn't see the ceremony but did Terry cut his hair? Anyway, a nice end of Austin, by far. Taker Vs HBK: An excellent match. THE match I wanted to see and it didn't disappoint. HBK is probably the only person aside from Kane to pick out of an immediate pin from a tombstone and Taker's expression was done well. taker's dive though was just sickening. It literally looks like he landed on top of his head on the ground / camera. An amazing, back and forth match, with an ending that you quite honestly didn't see happening (well, actually, I always envisioned Taker catching a wrestler from his moonsault and it interestingly enough was HBk, but this was like in 96 which HBK was doing it matchly, not thirteen years later. And yes...I realize that Taker did the same thing with marc Mero cept his tombstone was on the ground). Cena / Edge / Show - Not a bad match. I knwo people were disappointed Cena didn't FU both Show and Edge together at teh same time but considering Show is 500 pounds and Edge was under him, that is just asking for disaster. I think the very end seemed a bit off as you'd think Edge wouldn't walk right into it but eh. Neat part was where Edge / Cena teamed up on show. Orton / HHH - Trips entrance was not as bad as people made it seem. The match itself was...okay. I didn't hate it. The fact both men hit their finishers within the first minute was unique. The DDT by Orton was decent and they played the count out thing well (much better than HBK / Taker which hoenstly I felt put HBK out of character a bit). However, the end was um...anti-climatic. And it made Orton look stupid. Here is a guy they are suppose to make look like a cyborg, a cold, calculating individual, idiotically knock out the ref. Of course he can't win the match then. And then you see Trips punt him, hammer him, then after punching him a few times pull him up for a pedigree. Just felt off and made Orton look weak. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Taker / HBK is just awesome.
Jericho Vs the legends was OK at best until Steamboat got in. When I looked at Snuka, I had to think back to the images of him twenty-five years ago and how things have changed. Piper did OK but you could see some of the ring rust on Hot Rod. Steamboat smoehow managed to step out of a time machine from the past to put on a spectular performance, even better when you consider the fact that his last match was FIFTEEN YEARS AGO (against a not so Stone Cold but yet Stunning Steve Austin). I hope that Vince, his kids, and heck, they show his grand kids this, to show them a sample of what they could have had TWENTY YEARS AGO if Vince got over his pettiness regarding WCW to such a point that he buried any talent that was world championship material from that side. My bad, I don't know why I put in Molly Holly. However, Jackie was in Jacquline, not Gayda. She was a part of the attitude era, and a former two time champion. Nicole Bass was correct as well. I think what I am getting at is they should have had Chyna, Trish, Sable, Ritcher, and Lita for obvious reasons. All five were very, VERY instrumental in the woman's division. And heck, look WWE, if you want hilarity, have Mae Young win it. If you could put the title on Moolah at age 80 (speaking of which, Ivory was missing too whom was fairly instrument with RTC), and if you are going to make the battle royal a joke, you certainly could have HER win it. Heck, have her eliminate Santina. Oh, and I don;'t blame Trish for not showing up after the result. After all she did for the division.....nevermind. Additional Spam: So, draft is upon us. Picks anyone? 1.) C.M. Punk - They really seem to be pushing Punk as the new gen grand slam winner. I forsee Punk going to Smackdown! to collect the last three titles. He'll probably win the tag titles, the US title, then use his MITB title shot for the world title come November or December. Punk -> Smackdown! 2.) Koji - He had an OK stay on Raw, but he really has nowhere to go right now. Smackdown! would be a nice change for him. Koji -> Smackdown 3.) Undertaker - The man has been on Smackdown! since 02. He was on the Raw brand for maybe at most three months. A rematch between him and HBK could do decent. Oh, and word has it they want a lot of big players on Raw. Undertaker -> Raw 4.) MVP - MVP has been a mainstay on Smackdown! for two or three years now. If it wasn't that he is the US champ, I'd say he was going to ECW (which could happen as that is exactly what Matt did, but it really wouldn't help his career unless it's to be a launch to a real world title). I see WWE doing a switch with the US / IC titles. MVP -> Raw 5.) Rey mysterio - Mysterio has been on Raw but really hasn't done much. He beat Kane in his feud, then lost to Edge at the end of the EC. He then won the IC title. Honestly, haviing Rey on raw with so many "big hitters" already on Raw really puts him out of the spotlight. I see him going back to Smackdown! or even more likely, ECW (which is Smackdown virtually). Rey Mysterio -> ECW 6.) John Morrison - As I said, it seems they are splitting Miz / Morrison up. Looks like there won't be a feud though. Question is, who goes where? I see Morrison going toRaw to feud with MVP for the US title. Morrison -> Raw 7.) The Miz - See above The Miz -> Smackdown! 8.) The Great Khali - He hasn't really done much on Smackdown! Watch for him to return to ECW and his old roots Khali -> ECW 9.) Triple H - This one is definitely one in question. Many few it's a lock, but that's just it, if it's a lock, why not NOT do it? this would also effectively end the Orton / HHH feud. However, given the match-up they are having at Backlash!, watch for Trips to go back to raw. Triple H -> Raw 10.) Cena - Cena has been on Raw since 05 I believe. Time for a switch. Cena -> Smackdown! 11.) Colon's - ECW has virtually nothing right now. While I do think they will get the IC title, I think the tag titles will become a mainstay for the brand. Colons -> ECW 12.) Edge - Edge has been on Smackdown! for two years now. It's kinda hard to determine if Vickie will stay on Raw or Edge on Smackdown! It would seem odd, but be shcoking if Vickie got drafted to Smackdown! However, after the shock got over, people would realize that is really old. Watch for Edge to make his return to Raw. Furthermore, part of me would not be surprised if he defeats Cena for the title, only for Punk to repeat last year and use his title shot to win it from Edge the next night (so the title stays on Smackdown!). Edge -> Raw 13.) Beth Phoenix - It is obvious the Phoenix / Santino thing is at it's end. A feud between the two would not help. Watch for Phoenix to go to Smackdown! and gofor the title. Beth Phoenix -> Smackdown! 14.) McCool - Watch for McCool to go to Raw to go for the woman's title. Michelle McCool -> Raw 15.) Candice - Word has it she wants to go to Smackdown! It wold be fresh and a restart of her career which has stalled since her return. Candice -> Smackdown! 16.) HBK - This is the toughest one. Part of me feels he is going to finish out his career on Raw. however, part of me also feels that he could go on Smackdown! just to have something new and fresh for the last year of his career. It would also be easier on HBK who is reaching the point wher ehe wants to spend more time at home, as he can do two or three weeks worth of tapings and then spend weeks at home with his family. If HBK though doesn't do it this year, I'm almost positive that if he doesn't disappear altogether at Mania next year, he'll jump to Smackdown! then. However, given that Raw has virtually all of Smackdown!'s major stars now.... HBK -> Smackdown! 17.) Koslov - This guy was doing awesome, even geting a clean win over Undertaker/ However, after his loss to HBK, he has lost major steam. Hard to believe he was actually in a main event this past Survivor Series. At any rate, watch for him to go to ECW to get things on the right track, then back to Smackdown! or Raw afgter a year or two. Koslov -> ECW 18.) Jericho - This one is doubtful, but Jericho could make a move too. If HBK doesn't make a move to Smackdown!, don't be surprised if Y2J does. If not, well, Jericho is at teh stage where he can only help a brand with his excellent mic and mat skills. Him going to ECW would IMMEDIATELY bring a lot to the brand. And he can work Smackdown! as well so it's not like he's stranded there. JEricho -> ECW What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Actually, they already have Harry Smith penciled in as the fourth guy.
Truth be told, they should have a 2nd / 3rd generation stable for Legacy. They would have Orton as the leader, Shane McMahon as the financial backer. Rhodes and Sim Snuka (how sad his dad got a angle on Mania with only being there a few weeks while he nothing) as the tag team contenders, DiBiase as the IC contender, Natalye (?) Neidhart going for the woman's title, Chavo going for the US title or ECW title, Harry Smith for the title Chavo isn't going for, and one other (not sure on who though) for the World / WWE title on Smackdown!. Yes, Legacy wouldn;t be Raw exclusive but a stable that causes havoc and wants to dominate the entire WWE. FELIPE NO |
Well, looks like I wasn't too far off regarding the draft.
I think it;s fairly obvious Punk will be going on to win all the titles now. I do wonder about Edge though. Basically, the Supplemental Draft will be the telltale sign of what will happen in Backlash! Then again, I have a hard time seeing Edge beat Cena cleanly in a last man standing match. I mean, it's not that a heel doesn't win these things, but usually if a heel does, it's either because he is beyond the face (Triple H Vs Jericho) or there is some kind of screw job (Vader - Cactus Jack, Triple H - Orton). My guess is Edge will lose at Backlash! but since Cena is a Raw star and she is the GM of Raw, you'll see her put him in an immeidate rematch in which Cena loses. The Punk beats Edge. Or...OR.... Cena beats Edge. Orton beats Triple H's team. The next night, Triple H, enraged, beats the crap out of Orton. Heck, Triple H, Batista, and Shane McMahon ALL beat the crap out of Orton and Legacy (or they hold them at bay after Triple H pedigree's Orton). Suddenly, Punk's music plays and he uses his MITB title shot. They could even say he is "avenging" his loss back in Sept when Orton cost him the title. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
the one crappy thing (that I just realized) is Punk definitely can NOt become a grand slam winner. I realized last night the US title switched brands as he switched so he can't get that title. And now the tag titles switched as well.
Wow, talk about getting punked. Right now, the leading characters on Smackdown! are Mysterio and marysee as they are the only ones who have titles. Well, at least there's ring of honor. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
This happened around April of 1997. What happened was WWE and ECW joined forces, giving the WWE a fresh look while giving ECW promotion for hteir first PPV. Word has it RVD was trying to secure a spot in the WWE so while most ECWers were there for one or two nights, he was on a few more times in a few more matches. Not too much came of it though, mainly Saturday Night stuff after the first night or so.
Additional Spam: Lockdown Predictions: TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match - Sting (c) vs. Mick Foley. Winner: Sting. Congrats Sting, you are now in your longest title reign yet. I don't see the Stinger losing it now. In fact, I forsee him holding onto it up to the next Bound for Glory where Jarrett will avenge his loss from year sback and beat the Stinger. T Lethal Lockdown Match - Team Angle (Kurt Angle, Booker T, Kevin Nash & Scott Steiner) vs. Team Jarrett (Jeff Jarrett, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles & "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels). Winner: Team Jarrett. MEM is the NWO of TNA. Seriously, the only time the MEM has really lost was to themselves (Sting beating Angle). Heck, even Joe punking Steiner resulted in a DQ win for Steiner. Now, word has it Jarrett may be turning heel. Too soon, and too stale. Jarrett as a face is fresh, and I think we all know Angle - Jarrett III is on the horizon. Plus, having Jarrett with the MEM just unbalanced things like crazy and basically kills the Frontline (even if in some ways Jarrett being part of the MEM does make sense) let alone kills several potential matches while Jarrett is a face. TNA X Division Championship - Xscape Match - Suicide (c) vs. Jay Lethal vs. Consequences Creed vs. Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Kiyoshi. Winner: Suicide. The bigger question is whether Kaz or Danielson will be the one playing the character. TNA & IWGP Tag Team Championships - Philadelphia Street Fight - Beer Money Inc. (TNA champs) vs. Team 3D (IWGP champs). Winners: Team 3-D. A philly street fight just asks for Team 3D to win. Add in that thier titles are on the line (which I don't think can be switched over without permission), that Beer Money has had a nice run as champs, that Beer Money outsmarted Team 3-D last week, and that honestly Team 3-D is basically one short step away from being THE team of Pro Wrestling period, Team 3D is going to take it. IWGP Jr. Tag Team Championships Match - The Motor City Machineguns (c's) vs. No Limit vs. LAX. Winners: MCMGs. LAX isn't really a contender, but No Limit is. However, there is already one title switch regarding tag titels and furthermore I forsee MCMGs facing and beating Team 3D later on to fully establish themselves. Doomsday Chamber of Blood Match - Matt Morgan vs. Abyss. Winner: Matt Morgan. Abyss never wins these types of matches. Or almost never. The fact he held thee world title is just plain remarkable. TNA Knockouts Championship Match - Awesome Kong (c) vs. Taylor Wilde vs. Angelina Love. Winner: Love. I think they tried to use Wilde as the new Gail Kim and it failed. Kong is hurt and they gotta get the title off her. I could even see Kong getting "hurt" with Love taking advantage, and Kong doing a face turn and going for the title. Queen of the Cage Match - ODB vs. Madison Rayne vs. Daffney vs. Sojo Bolt. Winner: Hey, it's Daffney. ODB could be a possibility as well as Daffney. The only thing against Daffney is the fact she hasn't really been seen for the last EIGHT YEARS. I see ODB getting the win here, facing Love, then Daffney facing love before kong returns and gets thte title back. - Pre-show Dark Match: Danny Bonaduce vs. Eric Young Winner: Young. Man though, how far we have fallen. Didn't Young get picked by Joe to be his partner in the MAIN EVENT of Turning Point about two years ago? Now he's not even on the card. Word has it he needs to win or he's pretty much gone. Given that he's somewhat over, I think he'll be kept and win this match. There's nowhere I can't reach.

First, looks like we might get a treat:
(From Wrestleview.com) - It was announced during the Raw taping held earlier today in London, England that Chris Jericho would be wrestling WWE Hall of Famer Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat this Sunday at Backlash. Second, not bad concerning my picks. I only missed one. Unfortunately, that was the one where I thought for SURE Sting would win. Don't get me wrong. I have mixed feelings with Sting being champion. On one hand, I am a huge fan of his, am VERY happy to see him as champ (when all he could get after Hogan appeared in WCW were one month title reigns AT BEST), am incredibly happy to see him break his record, very, very happy to see the guy get rewarded for all his hard work, among other things. On the other, and it's not really the Stinger's fault, but he's kinda part-time now. He doesn't do house shows, which really is what TNA needs for their fan base to grow (well, they need many other things). I mean, granted, there aren't that many house shows so it's not THAT big of a deal, but having the world champ wrestle during those shows helps them. With that being said, I would have had n problem if sting dropped the title to Styles, Joe, Daniels, or several other very active, young wrestlers. I think it would have been a good send-off having him give teh extra rub on the young guy who finally beats him. Instead, Foley wins the title. Don't get me wrong, I realize Foley's abilities, which are awesome, and what he has done for wrestling has been huge. However, we went from a world champion who, while not on house shows, was fairly active the last few years, and has been on every PPV since winning the title (among many others), to Foley, who joined TNA six months ago, and only had a few matches since. In other words, we went from a semi-inactive champion, to an even more inactive champion. Furthermore, but related, consider this fact. Sting, while not super active, has been wrestling semi-actively for the past five to six years (2001 through 2003 or 2004 he wrestled sparingly). Foley though, was retired by Triple H (in which Foley basically killed his word on retiring for good. he made such a big deal of it in his second book) in 2000, didn't wrestle again until, 2004 I believe for two matches with Orton. He then came back as Mankind to face Carlito, then in 2006 with his feud / teaming with Edge which later led to him facing Flair twice. he then had a random (and I do mean RANDOM as he came out of nowhere. I guess the writers couldn't figure out anything else for his two title matches per year) match in which he was pinned by Cena. He then won a qualifying match with Horn and competed in (but lost) in the Rumble. that's roughly 10 matches. He then wrestled three matches I believe in TNA before his title match with Sting. That means Foley has wrestled fifteen matches in the last nine or so years, but still gets the title. I'm sorry, but that doesn't nothing but hurt the title. It's not Foley's fault, but rather the circumstances behind it. It makes the title look weaker when a guy who has had so few matches, who has been retired for so long, comes in to defeat the champ (who was the longest reigning champ in TNA history for tha tmatter). And not just once mind you, or with a quick roll-up, but rather twice, first by pinfall, and then in a cage which mroe or less is the traditional way to settle feuds. Now, I could be wrong. Perhaps Foley will have the fire burn so great that he'll give matches akin to ten or fifteen years ago. perhaps he will ignite the title seen. however, given he is a face (???????????????), and his opponents including Steiner, Nash, Lashley (maybe), and a few others rather than young stars like Daniels (ugh, why are they just calling him Daniels), Styles, Joe, etc, well, you get the idea. I hope TNA has a good plan with alll of this. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
that's been the week by week, year by year process that started, oh, say, in 1999 or 2000.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I think Bryan Danielson is the one who has totally lost it. Wow, he's sporting a new look, no more crew cut, super serious type deal anymore.
Truthfully though, that was hilarious. Now, all I need is to see Kane and Undertaker dance down to the ring or such and I have seen it all./\ I was speaking idiomatically. |
Was. He and Amazing Red were going to team up. However, he wanted too much money / had a back injury. TNA isn;'t happy so I doubt we'll see him now. Heck though, with that promo with Danielson, bring him in. Hours of entertainment right there. Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
WWE Championship - Six Man Tag Team Match
If Triple H's team wins, he retains the WWE Title If Randy Orton's team wins, he wins the WWE Title Triple H (c), Batista & Shane McMahon vs. Legacy (Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase) Winner: Triple H's team. If Rhodes or DiBiase were main eventers, I'd see one of them getting the pinfall with Orton becoming champion (and setting up the seeds for a feud between them as the person who got the pinfall would state he should be the champ). However, that isn't the case. So instead, watch for Batista to pin probably whoever he didn't beat on Smackdown! He'll then begin a small feud for the title with Triple H with the idea being he "saved the title for Triple H" WWE World Heavyweight Championship - Last Man Standing Match John Cena (c) vs. Edge Winner: Edge. Yes, i know, hard to see Cena losing the title in a LMS against Edge. however, what i forsee is Vickie doing something screwy at the end to have Edge take the title, kinda like a "going away gift". She'll then laugh only for Long to show up, and say she isn't going to get the final word tonight. In comes Punk who once again beats Edge for the title. ECW Championship Match Jack Swagger (c) vs. Christian Winner: Jack Swagger. this one is also difficult. Word has it that Swagger is already getting the view that he got the title too soon. He's also managed to beat Christian over and over again. I feel the WWE though is going wait a Christian title reign out a bit longe,r partially because they can do it without fans losing interest, and partially because Christian hasn't paid 'his returning dues' enough yet. also, didn't Tommy Dreamer say he would retire if he didn't win the title in June? IF the WWE remembers that, then I would not be surprised if Swagger holds the title until then. "I Quit" Match Jeff Hardy vs. Matt Hardy Winner: Jeff Hardy. Matt has won all theri previous battles. Despite Jeff apparently leaving the WWE in July, watch for them to throw him a bone to get him to stay. Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Steamboat Winner: Jericho. I would almost pick Steamboat as he lost at Mania except it would be really bad if Jericho lost to a guy whom a.) he beat in a gaunlet match just a week prior and b.) has been retired save for two matches in the last fifteen years. Look for Jericho to win it with his feet on the ropes or such though. Kane vs. CM Punk Winner: Kane. Hard to say. On one hand, Punk won the previous week. On the other, I have this feeling they are trying to build Punk up, and another win over Kane would do it. However, it would be far better to have Kane beat Punk, setting up a title match between them down the road after punk wins the title (with the idea being Kane beat Punk on the same night Punk became the champ). On, and it's Kane's bday, so yeah, let's give the big red machine a bday gift. FELIPE NO |
Couple of things.
I thought about Batista turning heel, but that seems unlikely. I mean, Orton was the guy who put him out months ago. Plus, Legacy seems to have a 2nd generation at least feel with it. If anything, Shane would be the likely candidate, with him backing Orton via management and financially in terms of storylines. It would make sense too, as Shane is a 3rd (or some feel 4th) generation promoter. Only thing is, I have noticed that these type of matches that scream a title change haven't done so in recent history. As for Jeff, basically, his contract expires in July. He is fairly burnt out, and is turning down the WWE's offers for him to resign even for just an extra year. Hard to believe he has been back for three years now. How ya doing, buddy? |
It would be kinda neat if tonight, Edge showed up saying that Vickie held out one last draft pick that she didn't mention to anyone. Edge gloats about how he has "ruined Smackdown!' this year just like he almost "ruined Raw" last year. Edge will then state he's going to defend his title on Raw, tonight. That leads to, I dunno, Edge Vs Taker (hard to pick anyone as no one is a real threat save for Taker now that Batista, Triple H, and Cena all have left) in which Edge loses by DQ. A pissed off Taker pounds the living tar out of him and leaves, with Punk using his MITB title shot to win the belt.
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
HBK is taking some time off to rest. Basically, he is moving to a more part-time schedule. If you look the past year or so, he has come and gone. Come Mania next year, he'll really reduce his schedule.
Undertaker came back a few more times, but he had to have surgery. He couldn't avoid it any longer. Basically, his knees are in bad shape. They are hoping that surgery will fix him up and that they don't find anything worse that will keep him out longer. Haha, I heard about Vince losing it and all. I don't blame him. Even if those who own the arena can do what they want, telling them a few days prior to the even they reserved nine months ago is just ridiculous. And I doubt Vince is going to ge tin trouble. It was clearly an accident. Ironically though, I was thinking recently about how commentators had to train themselves to NOT say WWF anymore. At any rate, given the extremes the WWE has went to eradicate the F, and given how Vince was ultra pissed, I don't see him getting into trouble. I made predictions for JD but forgot to post em here. Long story short, I was 5-2. I guessed teh Cena / Show match wrong, and I changed my ind on hardy / Edge after hearing reports Jeff made a promo regarding him defending his title. I heard Theodore Long is back on Smackdown! after a very long hiatus. And by long I mean maybe a year or so. I have no idea what is going on with Punk anymore. he lost cleanly to Kane (who has disappeared off teh face of the earth), and Umaga (although understandably) but beat Edge cleanly as well as... Spoiler:
It's like the WWE has cold feet. They want to push him, but then stop, then go for it again. And this is despite reports that they want to make new stars. Hey WWE, you want new stars? Have them win, CONSISTENTLY. Then again, I think we all know what will happen. They will be made, then drafted to Raw, and squashed by Triple H or Cena. Speaking of Cena, it's amazing how Vince / Cena has stick to his / their guns. Cena is slowly getting mostly cheers. Not all the time, but it's far better than before. Oh, and Flair is itching to return to the ring. My thoughts? He is a legend, and is one of the best wrestlers ever. However, i worry that one day his body will just give out, that he won't be put into any decent angles after a few weeks, and when it's all said and done, will have wasted that fantastic sendoff for nothing. He should stay on the mic, and continue to endorse himself and pro wrestling like none other can do. Oh, and bobby lashley beat teh crap out of some guy who made fun of him regarding wrestling (even putting a mask) in seconds. Most amazing jew boots |
Heh, I never even thought about Flair being out there. That would tick off a lot of people. Of coruse, the owner of the Center doesn't care and will stick to the "We did the best to our ability" story which is garbage.
Anyway, onto way more important news. Today marks 10 years all. 10 years since that horrific accident involving Owen. I'll be brief in saying Owen entertaining me. I was young when i watched him, and "disliked' him greatly, but that was only possible in that he allowed me to suspend disbelief to the point that i believed what he did. The memories of him and Bret's feud will be something that will live on for years to come. thank you greatly for the memories Owen and may you have rested in peace. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Well, glad to see Mr. Kennedy back. It looks like he is already on the right track to becoming a contender to Orton's tit-what's that? He got injured AGAIN? His FIRST MATCH BACK? Is he trying to be Kevin Nash here? Ouch. Oh wait, it's not to be serious. Whew, that was a close one. The WWE already said he was injury prone. Now, I thought Mr. Kennedy is going to be in a movie so the WWE can make good use of promoting their star long with his match Or-wait, what, he's RELEASED WITHIN UNDER A WEEK OF HIS RETURN?!?!
Talk about getting rid of someone you don't like but making sure to do it after they recover so it doesn't look bad on your company. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Indeed. however, maybe that is a good thing. A real fresh start. He could go there still with major momentum after his recent return/ He could then say that after one match back, all of the "big contenders" saw him as the threat he was going to be to them, and so they conspired to get rid of him.
He could then go into TNA< win their world title, then return to the WWE (the latter along with just going to TNA is what I am betting to happen). I was speaking idiomatically. |
Sad news guys.
I'm not sure how well versed you are on japanese wrestlers but Misawa, one of the ton wrestlers, died. Not only is he a top wrestler, but the owner of NOAH. He died after taking a belly to back suplex in the ring. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
So...
ECW loses virtually all it's talent. I heard a few people are upset Christian didn't switch brands but I need only point to the fact that 3 out of the 5 guys who were going for the ECW title just switched brands. Then you have possibly the hottest new thing going on, the Hart Dynasty, leaving as well. Even what it got in return wasn't much save for Regal and Benjamin (who I swear just switched FROM ECW a few months back), Matt Hardy has set a new record for time on Raw as he just got drafted to Raw two months ago and is already back to Smackdown! I guess they realized he isn't getting far and with his injuries, perhaps being back on Smackdown! where he had much more success would be a good fresh start. Plus, rumros were out a month or so ago that they might build Matt as a top face on Smackdown! (showing I guess how much confidence that they had in his heel work when they were already considering pushing him as a face just a few months after his heel turn). Speaking of Smackdown!, it is very, VERY heel heavy. They already have tons of heels on the show, jeff is about to leave (one of their top faces) and Punk is basically a heel now (who was also their top face). Then add in that the closest they get to a face from the mini-draft is Finley who was a bit of a tweener on ECW and eesh. So that leaves um....John Morrison who has barely been built up, and Rey Mysterio as the top faces on the brand (remember, Undertaker is gone)? Heck, they couldn't even turn Kane, who has absolutely no heel heat, back to being a face to at least slightly even up the odds. So, Um, er, um, err, I am taking it that Edge is turning face as I can easily see Jericho turning on him after they lose the tag titles, then him going after a fully established heel Punk. I have felt they planted the seeds as early as Mania when he basically verbally ripped apart big show. Then all that went down with Vickie adds to it a bit. He's now not in the title hunt either and Punk (a heel) is the guy who has it so it's logical for him to make a turn. He's also hinted at it in an interview recently, and for that matter his heel run has been very, very strong and very, very long, one of the longest that I can think of in probably the last fifteen years of wrestling I have watched. Then, if you look at his and Jericho's upcoming match, unless another team is added (which I highly doubt), it's all heels. Something's gotta give there. Oh, and that also allows the chance of some good ol' E & C. Raw is becoming the Triple H Vs Randy Orton show. I mean, it's good these two are having a long, long, long feud, but at the samet ime, it's getting, very, very old. Granted, with Batista getting hurt, HBK being gone, and really no other faces being built up to face Orton (althoguh they could try to 'gasp' build other stars like MVP or Koji to feud / face Orton. I mean, if they are trying the 300th time with Mark henry, why not those guys who are already over?). I think though that Legacy is breaking up to an extent as the seeds have been set. My feeling is Legacy will not beat Jericho / Edge, adding more friction. It will be a slow burn process though. Oh, and btw, Jericho and Edge will lose the titles to the Hart Dynasty. I would have had it been that Legacy beats them for the titles, then a face team beats Legacy, but um, see, the problem is, um, there aren't any teams left to do that. Well, okay, Cryme Tyme but....no. FELIPE NO |
Ugh, I just lost everything I wrote. Stupid mouse.
Long story short - Hacksaw isn't an active wrestler. he is a WWE ambassador like Slaughter. This was due to WWE's cost cutting measures. - The World, ECW, and WWE titles should be unified and much like the tag titles, require the champ to defend them on all brands. ECW should bring back the TV title, and basically the secondary title is the 'big one' for a brand, similar to wrestling territories long ago where the territory's title was the 'big one' for the brand until the NWA wrestling champ came into town. - As for a brand feud, here is my basic outline: * In Canada, a company is suing the WWE over the RAW trademark. If they won, the WWE may not be able to use it anymore. Presuming this happens, they could change it to...WCW Monday Nitro * In storylines, Vince is at the end of a show one day when Trump comes out. Vince tells him that he owns the show again and Trump should get out. Trump says that the owner of the show said he could stay to a confused Vince. Trump will say he and Vince have many differences but they do agree on one thing, 'That when there is a good deal that you can't resist, you have to take it'. He'll ask Vince if he remembers paying double for RAW. Vince will nod. Trump will ask if he ever got the paperwork making it a done deal. Vince will freeze and say nothing. Trump will say that they agreed on an 'intent to purchase' or whatever terminology Bischoff used regarding buying WCW (but didn't actually get it). he'll then say just before he was about to send the paperwork, he got an offer he couldn't refuse that was triple what Vince paid. The deal was then signed, sealed, and delivered. Trump will then introduce the new over of WCW Nitro (to the shock of everyone)....Ted Turner * Turner will come down to the shcok of everyone. He'll then say to Vince "Guess what? I'm back in the wrasslin business!'. Ted will say that for the last eight years, he has had to live with losing to Vince. Ted will say though he is a fighter, and if he had a choice, he would continue to fight. He'll say though that unfortunately, the choice was taken from him in 2001 by some company executives who had no idea how to run a business or a merger. Those people, and the company he merged with, are gone now, and he is back in control. And just as WCW blew away the WWE ten years ago, it's going to do so again, starting with the very thing that began it in the past, WCW's flagship, WCW Monday Nitro. *Turner will go on to say that he couldn't all this alone. No, he needed help from an old friend. He was the man who helped bring WWE to it's knees years ago, and was bidding his time to strike again. He is, Eric Bischoff. * Bischoff comes out and says he has been waiting years for this moment. Bischoff said when the deal fell through all those years back, his heart stopped. Not because he lost WCW, but because Vince had won. So what could Eric do though? Nothing. Vince had completely bought WCW and it's shares. Eric will say it took him awhile, but then he realized it...WCW and it's...SHARES. Around that time, as fate would have it, Vince called him up for a job as the GM of Raw. Eric thought about it and saw this was the time to strike back. Not right away though, but over time. Eric said that if he went to take out the WWE immediately, he'd have neither the company nor the troops to do it. So he instead waited his time out. Eric will ask Vince if he remembered how Eric wanted to be paid. That's right, in stocks. This entire time, Eric's payment has been an increasing share in WWE stocks. Enough now to properly own part of the company. He'll go on to say that through some legal loop holes and business transactions, he was able to make that part the part that owned the majority of the business asset known as WCW. And since he owned the majority of the business asset of WCW, that means he owns the rights to do what he wanted with it. Now Eric will say he isn't stupid. He may own the rights, but he didn't have what he really needed in 2001 to make it all work - the television slot. That's where Ted came in. Ted has the money AND power to give him that slot whether it be on USA, TNN, TNT or somewhere else. Even moreso, by having Ted back him, he can now fund the empire once more. and those troops Eric mentioned previously? While he had their loyalty, he didn't have their bankroll. Now he does. Who are they though? Eric will say that Vince and everyone else, just like in 1995 when he saw Luger jump to WCW, will just have to tune in to find out. *After this, the first man could show up and take out Vince. I'd suggest Orton as the 'knife in the back' given all the years him and his father had been with WWF. Rhodes would join him as his father had much of his success in NWA / WCW but DiBiase would stay firm with WWE saying the WWE gave his father and ultimately him, the good life they wanted. *Ric Flair will join WCW saying he hates Eric but hates Vince more. he said in 92, Vince said he would be treated like a star but come 93 they made him feel his time had passed. In 2006, Vince didn't even let him on Wrestlemania in a tag team match. Then, just a few weeks ago, Ric burned many bridges to rejoin the WWE only for Vince to change his mind. * Paul heyman would 'buy' ECW. He would say that as always, Bischoff stole his idea and that in 2002 when Vince finally fully bought ECW, that Heyman lessened his pay so the majority was in stocks (Eric was far wealthier and hence didn't need to do this). It took him longer, but much like Eric, he now owns enough stock that he was able to own ECW. The only question is how to handle who bankrolls the talent. * Eventually, Vince, Bischoff, and Heyman would go to the background to let the talent fight it out. The first draft would be very interesting as perhaps a super pro ECW star would have to join WCW and fight against all of them. Or perhaps a WCW star who is 'estatic' to get out' and joins ECW actually is a mole the entire time. Moving on... - Legacy and H Dynasty should not join up. This will only lead to some members getting overshadowed. A survivor series teaming would be cool though. - Matt isn't going to feud with Jeff. Jeff is on his way out, and Matt is injured. At BEST, I could envision Matt coming otu to save Jeff from Punk, with Matt saying blood is thicker than water and picking up where Jeff left off. However, Matt is injured so it will be a while before he returns. Most likely he'll come back to fight Punk in Jeff's stead. Oh, and the reason for this is Smackdown! barely has any faces and if they DID do a Jeff Vs Matt feud again, that would leave only Morrison and Mysterio to feud against Punk. Just doesn't work. - Speaking of Smackdown!, Edge must be the ONLY world champion ever to downplay his title reigns. He, the WWE, and many pro wrestling matches have him listed with eight title reigns. That is incorrect: 1. Over Cena (New Years Revolution) 2. Over RVD and Cena (Monday Night Raw) 3. Over Undertaker (Smackdown!) 4. OVer Batista and Undertaker (Armageddon) 5. Over Undertaker (One Night Stand) 6. Over Triple H and Koslov (Survivor Series) 7. Over Jeff Hardy (Royal Rumble) 8. Over Mysterio, Cena, and others (No Way Out) 9. Over Cena (Backlash) This does leav einto question whether he will go for the world title to make it an even ten as a heel, or if they'll use this as extra momentum when he goes for the world title as a face as it being for his tenth title reign. Ten is a fairly significant number to say the least. How ya doing, buddy? |
So much for Edge.
It is confirmed he has seriously injured himself with a torn Achilles heel. They are saying he might be out until the Royal Rumble although it could be even longer for him (I read these injuries require surgery, take a while to heal, and could take up to a year). they are already looking for something with the Great Khali to put the blame into a match with him. My feeling? Don't bother going this way. An Edge - Khali match will do nothing for Edge upon his return. The better angle is having Edge come out hurt and confronting Hardy. He'll then say that it wasn't Hardy's fault and he doesn't blame him. He'll then go on to say though that he wishes Hardy luck against Punk, but that if hardy beats him, he better be ready to give Edge a title shot when Edge returns. Hardy accepts, only for Jericho to come out and basically rip Edge apart for 'costing' him the tag titles. Edge will talk smack back, with Jericho 'apologizing' only for Jericho to clock him from behind with the title. Edge falls, and Hardy saves Edge (note I would only do this as long as it doesn't put Edge's health are further risk...remember Chris Candido). Teddy Long comes out and says if they want to fight, that's fine, but it will be in the ring on Smackdown! and be for the vacant tag team titles. He'll go on to say both Jeff and Jericho can pick a partner. Jeff picks Khali, Jericho picks Dolph. However, just before their match, Legacy will show up and say that if the titles are vacant, since they were the top contenders, they should be in the match to. They are added, and during the match, Kane interferes taking out Khali, and Punk whacks Jeff with his title, allowing Legacy to pick up the win. Kane and Khali continue their feud. Dolph gets a match with Mysterio. Jeff faces Punk. Legacy issues an 'open challenge'. Jericho will face (if he is ready as word is out he is doing nicely) either Undertaker OR (if Taker isn't fully healed) HBK. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I don't think there was much of a chance of this in the near future anyway.
Jeff is supposedly leaving in just a few weeks. Matt is injured and will be out a few months. I think we all agree that they need to have Jericho be responsible somehow or at least do something to Edge while he is injured. If and this is a big if, Edge could take a Walls of Jericho, that would be ideal, as Jericho could say he put Edge out (and the storyline would be that Jericho did a ton more damage to Edge's leg causing him to be out even longer). Punk would run his course as champ, then someone could beat him, then Jericho could beat that guy setting up for a feud between him and Royal Rumble winner, Edge. Then, similar to Wm 18 but minus Steph and Edge's favorite dog, Jericho could go on how he put out Edge and that Edge's leg is just wired together, ready to be snapped at any time. Most amazing jew boots |
Interestingly enough, they did this just days before Carlito and Primo were suppose to go to WWC for a title shot against the tag champs there. WWC is owned by their father. The WWE did a nice job of screwing that all up as it was iniitally a title for title match, but now there may not even be a tag match,
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
That would make the tag team title unification match worthless (although the WWE almost made it seem that way by not bothering to put it on the card).
I actually like the Carlito idea. What could happen is Carlito comes out and says how he and Jericho are alike. They both had to carry their tag team partners through a tag team title reign only for their partners to screw it up. He'll go on to ask Jericho about having a partner that CAN carry his own weight around. Jericho will agree. Jericho and Carlito will then lose the tag team titles in a triple threat / fatal four way to Legacy. It could even be the Primo helps cost Carlito the titles so that they can add fuel to their feud. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
