Well, generally, the protocol is a wrestler should never strike a fan no matter what they say about the guy. however, if a fan touches the wrestler, then the wrestler is allowed to defend himself/herself by reasonable means. Generally, they go a bit "overboard" in order to make sure no one else wants to join in.
Probably the biggest point will be whether the woman did grab Jericho or not. There is another video that shows a woman seemingly grabbing Jericho. I can't tell for sure though if her "lunge" (see above) really was her grabbing Jericho. Of course, supposedly he pie-faced her at one point but even that can be argued that he was trying to get some space. Sadly, fans that do this are stupid as they basically killed future WWE shows for the near future. Supposedly, their city has had a reputation with one fan attempting to attack Triple H after the main event in 2005, and a few others getting in fist fights with some referees. Ridiculous. My advice to the WWE....don't even waste your time with this city for the next ten years. My feeling on the result of all of this? I feel the woman should get nothing because she went overboard. Jericho though, shouldn't go untouched as he did go a bit overboard himself and have something like community service. How ya doing, buddy? |
Well, my view could easily be argued against. Security (not the cops...) should have done their job, but Jericho took swings at them among others. While security was incompetent in this case, they shouldn't have a swing taken at them for that. So that among other things, I felt community service would be the best thing as it would be the "least" punishment.
I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
DiBiase ends Taker's streak? Um, no. I'm all about giving that big win to put a young star over but DiBiase isn't at the point to be put over like that. The sad thing though is in most eyes I could see DiBiase being punked out by Taker which would mean that they'd give DiBiase the win just for a "shocker" and in hopes to "put him over big". Unfortunately, the only "shocker" there would be is the number of fans who give up on the WWE and pro wrestling in general by that point. Nevertheless, I have heard though rumors of Taker vs HBK, or even Taker Vs Triple H. That would feel much better.
Just now they had something on Yahoo about Jericho and a bit of a "Kelly's Court" or whatever. Long story short, the prosecutor basically said Jericho shouldn't have hit her because she only said bad things/spit in his face (what about her punching him?) while both the defense attorney and the host said Jericho was in the right. Best quote was at the end from the host, "I'm with him (Jericho).". I was speaking idiomatically. |
Right. Unless you count his ECW title reign. Thing is though, it's doubtful he'll go for it again. Hel ooked to gain some intensity when he turned heel...only to lose several matches to Rey Mysterio.
For me, the only time I would say it might, MIGHT be OK to end Taker's streak is if it was putting someone who was almost a star, but needed that "huge achievement" to make it over. DiBiase isn't at that point yet in his career. And honestly I can't think of anyone in the seeable future who would need that extra push to the next level who is ready for it. There wre rumors of it being HBK/Cena/JBL at Mania for the title. They were also talking about Jericho/"The Wrestler" actor. however, said actor pulled out so then they talked about Jerico/Cena. Yet, they just had that match last week and it was cena who beat Jericho for the title anyway. Furthermore, depending on what goes down with recent happenings, the WWE may not want to risk putting Jericho in a high-profile match (no fault of Jericho) to avoid major backlash. So then it might just be HBK and Cena once again at Mania although I like the idea of having it be a triple threat. Have HBK lose to JBL, then at Wrestlemania redeem himself. Or have him face Taker. Each is a good idea. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I concur with dagget on Fox. It's as I have said to many people, news stories are always modified so that they catch people's attention. It's funny how no one has mentioned yet that this woman may very well have hit Jericho first (and some of the video footage shows her lunging towards Jericho).
Most amazing jew boots |
My feeling on Christian's return is it seemed decent from what I read save that he got a bit of assistance in beating Jack. Now, don't get me wrong, I understand they are also furthering the Finley feud but Christian wasn't able to get the clean win on his first match back.
How ya doing, buddy? |
My advice Winter Storm is to go for some ROH. In fact, they just have a cable deal set up. Now, it may not be as good as the "good ol days" as some of the content will become more "kid friendly", the music that was a part of the entrance will be gone (licensing issues so they have to create music for all their wrestlers now), but the wrestling is darn good. I just hope they don't have anything stupid like putting on parts of matches because of how pro wrestling is usually portrayed on T.V. (a twenty minute match is considered "long").
Additional Spam: So I happened to see a Styles' heel promo. Hilarious. YouTube - TNA: AJ & Tomko Accept The Tag Titles Tomko: "And against my better judgement, I'm going to let you talk for the rest of this interview" Styles: "Pokemon Diamond is freaking awesome." "Kip James is a real inspiration. He's twice my age but keeping it real at 50. that's awesome." "DS Nintendo Stronghold..." Jam it back in, in the dark.

Prediction time:
Jack Swagger Vs Finley - With Christian returning last week, it is all but assured that Swagger will beat Finely to build up to his match with Christian. There might be some inadvertent interference on Christian's part which might lead to a Finley heel turn. Winner: Jack Swagger Orton Vs Shane McMahon - I forsee Shane going nuts on Orton. however, in the end, expect Orton to snap and pummel Shane. Winner: Randy Orton JBL Vs HBK - Many are expecting HBK to win this match. it would be very hard to see JBL taking the win here. However, this could lead to HBK (after losing) to feud with Undertaker. It could be that he losses, is angry, but keeps his word. JBL then faces the Undertaker, HBK goes to superkick JBL but kicks the Undertaker instead. Undertaker gets in his face in which HBK goes berserk and takes out his frustrations regarding JBL both verbally and physically on the Undertaker. They face, Undertaker wins, JBL then mocks HBK the next night in which HBK superkicks him. This then leads to a HBK/JBL match in which HBK's career for his freedom. HBK wins. Anyway...with that being said...while it is highly unlikely, and the heels are pretty much winning all the matches tonight... Winner: JBL John Cena Vs Koji Vs Kane Vs Chris Jericho Vs Rey Mysterio Vs Knox - Very doubtful on Cena losing it here. Jericho is the biggest threat but only because both Kane and Mysterio's title reigns were so...embarrassing. That being said, order of eliminatino: Knox by Rey, Rey by Kane, Koji by Kane, Kane by Cena, Jericho by Cena Winner: John Cena Edge Vs Jeff Hardy Vs Triple H Vs the Undertaker Vs Big Show Vs Koslov - The question is, are they going to have the world title change hands four times? All but Koslov were former world champions. Triple H and the Undertaker rarely lose and were the winners of last years elimination chamber matches. That being said, this will probably be Edge's finest hour at this point in his career, defeating legends like Triple H and the Undertaker, one of the largest wrestlers ever in the Big Show, former world champion Jeff Hardy for the second time, and up and comer Koslov. Order of elimination: Koslov by Hardy, Big Show by Undertaker, Undertaker by Triple H, Jeff Hardy by Triple H, Triple H by Edge Winner: Edge There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Spoiler:
Additional Spam: Oh, whoops, looks like WWE already has it figured out: Spoiler:
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Actually, the draft was held in June last year.
It seems no one has a real clue on the plans of Wrestlemania. Believe it or not, they are playing with the idea of Cena Vs Hogan at Mania. I can't believe that given how pissed off Vince is with Celebrity wrestling AND there has been no build up to the match AND they are looking to make it Cena Vs Edge (as he is suppose to go to Smackdown!). Speaking of Edge...if they do go for the Hogan Vs Cena match, supposedly he will defend against....Big Show?!?! No offense, but that is NOT a match that i am "dying" to see. In fact, I don't care. This is kinda sad. For the first time, I really don't care at least abuot the main event at Wrestlemania if the planned matches go through: Hogan Vs Cena - I don't care. I don't care to see super Cena vs the Hulkster, I don't care about the result, I just don't care. Edge Vs Big Show - Why is Big Show getting a shot? This is suppose to be when the ultimate face goes against the ultimate heel. Show JUST turned face after being a heel for the last six months (which consisted of him jobbing repeatedly save for a win over Taker and supposedly will consist of him in a casket match against the dead man on Smackdown!). There is no history to this match, no build-up, and it's nothing special at all. This should be one of those "other PPV main event fillers to Mania/Summerslam" type matches. Orton Vs Triple H - This has been done already. In fact, last year (but with the addition of Cena). heck, they already had Orton eliminate Triple H to get a title shot. And given it's Wrestlemania 25, I would like tosee at LEAST one face champion coming out of the PPV (I am assuming Edge will win). Furthermore, this is NOT a match people have been "dying" to see. Orton Vs Austin would be one people would want to see. There is nothing special that makes this match one of those "ultimate faces vs ultimate heel" type thing nor the "big, long-awaited showdown". HBK Vs undertaker - Looking good. I hate to say, Taker's streak may end here. I'd rather not, and it may not given that Taker lost at NWO while HBK won. However, HBK did end Flair's career, so they could start something where he has big accomplishments at Mania. Also, HBK is supposedly starting into the last year of his career (he will retire in 2011 after mania 26) so this may be the start of a big 'send off' for him. Jeff vs Matt hardy - This is the feud that never could quite get off the ground. I can go with it though. These two have only faced each other a handful of times, with the last being maybe 2001? With this being said, here is a real Wrestlemania card: Randy Orton Vs Steve Austin - Have Orton beat Triple H for the strap after goading him into a match. Then have "the future" go against the "texas rattle snake". Storyline? Have Vince basically ask the one man who he'd never thought he'd ask for help, for help. They can even have Orton attack Austin at the HOF to a shock of everyone. At the end, Vince will suddenly help Orton to "get that rattle snake one last time". Edge Vs John Cena Vs Triple H - Cena wants revenge against Edge. Meanwhile, Edge, helps Orton out in getting the title partially to screw Triple H. Triple H responds in a pissed off manner both towards Edge and Cena too just because Cena gets in the way. Undertaker Vs HBK - I have no problems with this. HBK may be the onyl guy who can end the streak, be worthy to do such a thing, and not be booed out of the building. Christian Vs Jack Swagger - no explanation needed. Jeff Hardy Vs Matt Hardy, Falls Count Anywhere - Let the two brothers finally have their big match with no rules. Jeff can climb u pto the Wrestlemania 25 logo and do a swanton off it if he likes. Chris Jericho Vs Ric Flair - Flair WAS retired. However, Jericho has attacked guys like Piper and gotten on Flair's nerves. HBK, who has a history with Jericho, let's Flair come back for one more match to eradicate Y2J. Colon's Vs Morrison/Miz Vs rest of the "consistent" tag teams in the WWE - Tag team wrestling is dead in the WWE. Unify the tag titles with a winner-take-all match. the champs can then defend the titles on both brands. MITB Match - Punk Vs Shelton Benjamin Vs Big Show Vs Kane Vs Mr. Kennedy Vs MVP Vs Koji Vs Mystery Entrant - An exciting MITB match with a surprise 8th entrance. Could be a returning superstar like RVD (who won it a few years back), or someone else who is "that" close to reaching the next level. Rey Mysterio Vs Knox - Let these two finally settle their differences. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I wouldn't mind that. Truth be told, usually, if HBk wins one match, he loses the rematch.
I still feel sad because this is honestly the first wrestlemania where I just shrug my shoulders. Save for HBK Vs Taker, none of the matches interest me. Heck, even Wrestlemania 13, which had a lousy buy rate, had the awesome Bret/Austin match, and the anticipated Taker/Sid match (even if it was done in slow motion). I was speaking idiomatically. |
Word has it that Vince doesn't see much in Christian.
Those in creative were (are?) worried that Christian would become like D-Lo Brown...returned with a bang, then forgotten. We may see Captain Charisma back in TNA within a year's time if Vince doesn't get his head out of the clouds. Additional Spam: I didn't know Piper was a former world champion... It would have been kinda cool if they were to start having a 3rd generation feud. Problem is, the only two 3rd generation stars they currently have are aligned and will be for some time.
Manu was basically punked out and I guess the writing was on the wall for him. Honestly though, the WWE has been releasing a good bit of talent as of late. This past Friday they released Colt Cabana. Oh well, there's always Ring of Honor as they are getting a new deal (although both WWE and TNA are taking a page of out WCW's play book (which took a page out of the WWF play book) in that they are trying to take away ROH top stars. Hey all, remember, competition HELPS the business...). FELIPE NO |
Saw this little tidbit in a recent interview with Mic Foley:
If he plans to retire from the ring anytime soon: "I already did that in 2000. I went for a year without a match when the average retirement time for wrestlers is about six weeks. I won't make a retirement announcement. I'll never say never again." Um, err, I know the main event for Wrestlemania 16 wasn't that great (personally, I hated it because I feel that Mania is the BIG event where they are suppose to "right all wrongs" which includes having a FACE CHAMPION ENDING THE SHOW), but it DID happen, and it DID happen LESS than six weeks after NWO (which was when Foley "retired"). I guess Foley is saying Mania was his real retirement date? I guess I am a bit surprised as from his books he seemed to be particularly careful regarding this. How ya doing, buddy? |
Well, if Obama fails, can we get this guy in...
YouTube - Bob Backlund for President Ah, memories... Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I heard about the rumors of JBL getting the IC title. My guess is he'd be the first guy to defend the title at Mania since, like 01. I don't like it...but I can see the WWE doing it especially as JBL has basically been the "main event job guy" for thepast year and a half and they'll want to reward him.
I have this feeling Punk is going to Smackdown! soon. For whatever reason, I have had the feeling for some time that the reason Punk's title reigns have been one or two months long is they are going to have him become the first even, current generation grand slam winner. That is he'll win ALL the titles on ALL the brands at one point. With that being said, don't be surprised to see the Carlito's unify the tag titles with Miz / Morrison, then lose them to Miz / Morrison in which Punk / ??? wins them from those two (in which it would sorta be like revenge as Punk / Koji lost the titles to them some months back). Additional Spam: According to some new reports making the rounds, there is said to be lots of frustration among WWE's creative team due to Vince McMahon's behavior as of late. It is well known that working under Vince can be very challenging for everyone involved in WWE as he is described as being very frantic and changes his mind constantly about the creative direction of the company. In turn, this frustrates many employees as it means a lot of extra work that many see as unnecessary. One WWE source described Vince has being especially hard to work with lately, noting that he has been snapping at people and constantly changing his mind about storyline directions. Those who are immune to Vince's behavior seem only to be the wrestlers as he rarely has a negative word to say to them. Instead, the support staff around Vince ends up taking a brunt of it. One big company initiative taking place right now reportedly is to stop leaks to wrestling media news sources than ever before in the past. Vince was described as being almost obsessed with stopping stories from leaking out of the company and his lieutenants are making this very clear to their subordinates. One example of this already was Vince ordering the ring crew to cover the Elimination Chamber earlier in the day at the site of the No Way Out PPV to prevent leaks from hitting the internet of Edge's involvement in both matches while wrestlers worked out spots for the show that evening. Source: PWInsider.com Heh, if this is true, I can only imagine what Vince did when that script leaked. Maybe it was one of the writers who just got released (although he was on Smackdown!). There's nowhere I can't reach.

Well, it looks like JBL may be once again bowing out. Word has it his back is messed up and he is talking about immediate retirement.
This is leading to the possibility of JBL possibly retiring at Wrestlemania 25 as IC champ. This is probably why he suddenly won the IC title (so he could be a grand slam winner before he retired). Personally, I hate this but could see JBL saying he is the first guy to ever retire as champion at Wrestlemania. That would be his big surprise. It would stink though as him retiring with thet itle would do nothing for it's legacy (which ironically was being celebrated just a few months back with an IC tourny that Punk won to soon become champ and through a released DVD set). I mean, maybe this is a way for them to retire the IC title and have the US title become a multi-brand title (something they may be dong with the tag titles). Another possibility is him to feud with Koslov. I am guessing JBL is the one who will turn face, as they can undoubtably push him as the "American Hero" against Koslov (who is certainly not reached his "heel peak" by any stretch). JBL would successfully defend the title against Koslov, then perhaps in April or May (the supposed time he would retire), be injured and put out by Koslov who'd win the title. It would also be fresh as JBL hasn't been a face since 2004 while Koslov as a heel is still something somewhat new. Another person is Rey Mysterio. While nothing has been said abouth im going against JBL, there isn't a match set for Rey Rey yet. It would be quite interesting as it could be deja vu from 2006 all over again with Rey retiring JBL once more. Ironically, I just picked up Judgement day, which is JBL's last PPV before he was retired by Mysterio a few nights later. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Truth is, as you said, it IS in Texas so he could get away with it. JBL is a throwback to the old texas style wrestlers like Dick Murdoch and Stan Hansen.

I heard about Test as well. Supposedly, Dave Metzler is one of those reporting it which is a pretty reliable source. Hard to believe ANOTHER one died young. Only 33 years old. I remember when I first saw Test starting out in the WWE as part of Motley Crew, only to join the Corporation after betraying DX not-too-long afterwards. He then went on to feud with Shane for Stephanie, got showed up at the "wedding" by Triple H, then basically faded away for a few months until he turned heel and joined with Albert and Trish as part of TNA (not the wrestling promotion). They teamed for like, forever, but didn't get far, in which Test turned face again for a short time, feuding for the Hardcore title. He won the title, then lost it back soon afterwards, and turned heel after the WWE roster thought he was the WCW mole due to his friendship with Shane and beat teh crap out of him.,
He then faced Edge in some excellent matches, winning the IC title from Edge before losing it back in a unification match. Test though won a battle royal that allowed him to say on the roster. My mind blurs after this point, but I swear he also won the European title at some point. Anyway, he then joined the Unamericans which did decent for a while, with hs best match being against Taker (he scored a pinfall win over Taker the week before). The Unamericans broke up, with Test soon joining up with Stacy Keiber, eventually cutting his hair and calling his fans his testicules. They did alright although Test never really got anywhere. eventually, he started to turn heel after he got into some trouble I think cheating on Stacy (in storylines) when Goldbust told people about it. He then teamed, feuded and teamed against with Scott Steiner, ultimately turning heel and dumping Stacy. Oh, and he won the rights to own Steiner only to let them go after Steiner turned heel. They then had some tag matches and that's about all I remember. He then came back a few years ago and feuded mostly with Lashley but came up short all 28 times. He then disappeared again, with his last apperance being a short time in TNA as the Punisher (which ironically I saw during one of my visits to the States). He though, had to leave supposedly due to enhancements or something like that and retired last year. I'm surprised I remember that much about him. Onto other news or past news or whatever, if the WWE were / is going to basically reduce / unify titles, here is hwo they should do it: Woman's / Diva's title - The winner of the Diva Battle Royal unifies them. It makes sense right, the first Mrs. Wrestlemania is also the champ. Tag Titles - Already discussed. IC / US titles - JBL wins at Wrestlemania. Koslov beats him down afterwards. Koslov wins the US title from Shelton or MVP. JBL comes back only and demands a US title shot. Koslov allows it but wins. They then unify the titles the next month with Koslov taking the gold. Alternatively, if they are going to have JBL retire as champion, let him do so, have Koslov destory him, have the US champion come out to stop Koslov, and have Koslov beat the champ for the title. ECW / World / WWE titles - This one is trickier but I thought of what I feel would be a shocking, hot angle, that would truly establish one of the up and coming stars, while setting up feuds for him all the way to and including Wrestlemania. I am going to use Christian in this case because he's on ECW and I think he would benefit the most at this point and given his years in the business, "deserves" it. Orton wins the WWE title. Edge retains / wins back the world title. Christian wins the MITB match. We eventually get to Night of Champions. The card is Christian Vs Jack Swagger for the title, Orton Vs Triple H in a Final Chapter Match, Edge Vs Cena in a Final Chapter match. Finally, there would be a one night only tournament for the world title. Christan cleanly defeats Jack Swagger for the title. Later on in the card, it is announced that Triple H hasn't made it to the arena yet due to "car issues". Orton comes to the arena, gloats, give the feeling that he caused the car issues without saying it. He then says how ironic that his and Triple H's last match ends with Triple H too scared to fight him in it. He then gloats some more saying he is still the champion in which Christian comes out with the brief case. Christian wisely puts the case down by the announcing booth, then goes up to speak to Orton and takes shots at him. He then goes on to say that he can have a title shot for Orton's title any time that he wants, even right now. Orton gets angry and asks him if he wants a title shot right now, which Christian nods, and Orton saying he's got it. Orton will further state at some point that he knows Christian has already had a match and that unlike all the previous years in which the challenger took advantage of a cheap situation, he (Orton) is going to end it right here, right now so he doesn't have to worry about it. Orton and Christian face off, with Orton doing better than Christian, mainly because of Christian's last match. At one point, Orton is ready to hit the RKO when Triple H's music hits and a pissed off Triple H comes down the ring. Orton smiles at him as Triple H gets to the bottom, in which referees get in the way to stpo Triple H. Orton then goes over to the ropes and yells at Triple H, mocking him. Suddenly, Christian springs alive, rolls up Orton from behind, holds the tights, and becomes a dual champion to the shock of everyone. We aren't done though. In the final match in the even, Edge defeats John Cena using his feet on the ropes. Cena is enraged that this is the ending result of their feud and pummels Edge with multiple FU's, and locksk on a STFU. Referee's and officials flood the ring, and you even see Christian run down the ring with a chair, looking angrily at Cena. Cena eventually leaves, as the referees and officials check on Edge. after a few minutes. then begin to get him off his feet, only for Christian to suddenly smash Edge in the face with a chair! The referees and officials go nuts on Christian who brushes them aside, gets out of the ring, gets the briefcase, then gets in and immediately demands his title shot. It is then revealed that Christian never told the referee earlier that he wanted to use his title shot against Orton; Orton gave Christian a title shot on his own (so Christian goaded Orton into the match). Match begins, Christian pulls the near limp Edge off the match, hits the unprettier / killswitch and covers him for the 3 count, to win the WWE title, unify all the world titles, get huge wins over all three brands biggest "young" stars, winning three world titles in one night (thereby beating Jericho's accomplishment which will of course be another feud in the making), and giving that monster push for him into the main event. I know some may feel Christian shouldn't be champ, but why not give him a chance? Rey Rey, Punk, and Jeff Hardy were all given chances, so why not Christian as well. If it fails, then he can lose the title to virtually anyone in his next set of matches. The next PPV (July) would have Christian face against the winner of the one-night tournament to help build his credibility up as champion. At Summerslam, Christian would face against Orton and cleanly defeat him (Orton would beat Triple H in a match the previous month for a title shot as they would determine that since there was no actual match, there was no real Final Chapter). In September, there would be the six or eight match scramble match including Christian, Jack Swagger, Randy Orton, Triple H, Edge, Chris Jericho, and two others. Christian would win, but it would be sketchy as Jack Swagger would get a win early and more or less keep everyone at bay for the next twenty five minutes (since there would be only one of these match, the match length would be bumped up to thirty minutes) until Christian managed to sneak out a win at the end. In October, Jack Swagger will state that he was just seconds from being champion and has defeated Christian multiple times and there should ge ta title shot. They wll have one with Christian getting the clean win. During all this time, this slowly leads down to a conforntation between Edge and Christian. They finally have it out at Surivovr Series. Christian cleanly pins Edge. About a weak later, Christian and Jeff hardy face against Edge and Matt Hardy. Jeff screws up, hits Christian, and Edges get the pinfall. This then sets up the seeds for a Christian heel turn. Christian, being to slowly turn heel, faces Jeff Hardy (who defeats Edge and Matt) one year to the event where Jeff won the WWE title. He wins cleanly but does some dirty tactics that the fans begin to boo him for. Christian then goes on to face John Cena and beats him at the Royal Rumble using his feet on th eropes. Cena isn't totally cheered but it's another step towards a full heel turn for Christian. At NWO, he faces Triple H. Edge interferes though, and aids Christian using a conchairto so Christian can get the pinfall win. Come Wrestlemania, Christian will face whoever won the Royal Rumble. One possibility cuold be HBK, as HBK has stated he would retire after Mania 26. it could be conceivable that HBK does the "this old dog still got it" type angle, winning the Royal Rumble for a third time (which no one has done), then faces Christian (probably losing to him to put him over as that's how HBK is). Another psosibility would be a new, up and coming star, that the WWE has built up over the year (yes, I know, this one is laughable), that wins hte Royal Rumble and has the showdown against the now heel Christian. They could even have Christian and the winner of the RR have confrontations in which the winner of the RR would basically verbally Smackdown! Christian, leading to more fansupport of said individual and more of a heel turn for Christian. Then, we could have Triple H vs HBK in HBK's retirement match. Also, Christian can have other feuds. He could feud with Jericho over 1.) their past history and 2.) the fact that Christian 'beat" Jericho's record. He could feud with Batista who just wants to get the title (as Batista always does). Then there is also Undertaker, Punk, and Rey Mysterio which would have decent matches as well. The end result of this would be to have another stelluar champion (Christian) and hopefully a new star that would be used for years afterward (the RR winner aside from HBK). I was speaking idiomatically. |
And I have to give props that they are really building Sting's last world title reign. I highly doubt Foley will knock him off so that means he'll have the title until May, making his title reign his longest ever. And IF they at LEAST have him defend the title say in mid April (most likely the 18th), then he'll already have beaten his old record.
Oh, and having Style as a Legends champ...FINALLY. How ya doing, buddy? |
So, Mania matches are pretty much set. Here is how I would handle them given things as they are:
Tag Titles Unification - First off, why do I forsee the Belle Twins ultimately turning on the Carlito's and giving the tag titles to Miz/ Morrison? In my opinion, Miz / Morrison have been a dominant team, but at some point they are going to have to break off, something the Colon's aren't going to do for some time. It would be far better for the Colon's to unify the tag titles as the tag titles represent old school wrestling, and a "brother's team" is also fairly old school wrestling-wise. At any rate, I'd have it that for once, the fans are swerved and instead of Miz / Morrison screwing the Colons via the Belle twins, they screw Miz / Morrison, with the Colon's picking up the win, and the other tag team titles. This would establish the Colon's as not only did they unify the titles, the won BOTH of them in seperate matches against Miz / Morrison who has been the dominant team in the past year. They could go on to have the idea that each Colon is with one of the Belle's, eventually leading to the Colon's at some point losing the tag titles, blaming it on the Belle twins, then even having a tag title match of Colon's / Belle's. This would be way down the line but you get the idea and it would be a perfect way to start off Wrestlemania. Oh, and this would plant the seeds for the Miz / Morrison split and feud. Diva Battle Royale - If we are unifying titles, why not the woman's / diva titles? In fact, that will happen as moment's before the match, the two champs will face off, daring the other to put her title on the line. Anyway, the final four come to the two current champs, Trish, and Gail Kim. Trish has embodied woman's pro wrestling for several years. Gail embodies woman's pro wrestilng the last few years in TNA and can and should in the WWE into the future. Have it that the winner is not only Mrs. Wrestlemania, but the champ as well. Trish and Gail eliminate the champs, then go at it, with Gail eliminating Trish, ironically repeating history during the first time she was in the WWE when in her first televised match she won the title in the battle royale. Trish would then shake Gail's hand, sorta to pass the torch to her and give her the rub in the right direction. Gail can then feud with the previous champs, giving them title shots. JBL Vs Mysterio - JBL wins. He then gets on the mic and says that he's noticed that in the last two matches, two titles have went ahead. He will say that this match will be no different. He'll then say the last time he faced Rey, Rey retired him. JBL will say that since the man who retired him last time couldn't retire him, no one can retire him...except himself. That's right, JBL says it's been seven years since the iC title was last defended, he hoped people enjoyed it because they won't see it again. JBL retires as IC champ. The announcers state how amazing it is that three titles have seemingly been unified / retired. MITB match - See above in an earlier post but due to smoe things going on angle-wise, there are a few changes. Edge - Cena - Big Show - In a shocking change of events, Edge and Cena do the infamous double turn. that hasn't been done since mania 13 (more or less). The end comes with Edge spearing Big Show. He goes to pin Big Show when Cena breaks it up. Cena then goes for the FU, only for Edge to counter. Edge then goes for the spear, Vickie holds his foot to the shock / rage of Edge, only for when he turns around, Cena hits the FU and pins him. People are then shocked, when suddenly Vickie says she loves Cena and they; hug to huge booes. After years of people grudgingly accepting Cena as a face to the point that they are OK with it, Cena turns heel. It's also been quite a while since his last heel turn. Big show is at first angry but since he really wasn't the one screwed, he stays heel and feuds with Edge for a bit. Edge will win his match against Show, and eventually get his shot at Cena at Night of Champions. That leads to the following changes to my original idea of unifying the title. During the edge ~ Cena match, Cena screws Edge for the title. Edge goes nuts and beats down Edge. Referee's come out and suddenly Christian comes out. Christian yells at Edge to pick up a chair, with Edge, enraged, doing so. Christian picks up one of his own and they blast Cena with a conchairto, knocking him out. The referees then hold Edge down as Christian cashs in his title shot, picks up a knocked out Cena, hits him with the unprettier, and wins the title from him. At Survivor Series (all the other things I said stay the same), Cena faces Christian, not Edge. Then come NWO or even Wrestlemania the two face off. It really depends on how well Edge is doing as a face, and also if the WWE has built any other future star up to face Christian. If the answers to the latter two situations is "No", then Edge wins the Royal Rumble and he and Christian finally have their match at Wrestlemania. As a sub for Edge at NWO, Christian could face HBK as those two have never really faced each other, and as a bit of a "final rub" from HBK on his way out, he could do the job for Christian. The feud between Edge and Christian would be easy to set up. They would trash talk each other back and forth. Christian would say his one title reign is almost longer than all eight of Edge's. Edge would say the only reason Christian has that title reign is become of him. Taker - HBK - Taker wins and finally "defeats" HBK. The story of the match is HBK does his Taker with the superkick, but the referee is in a daze. He'll go on to say he knows it, the fans know it, even Undertaker knows that his streak was "ended" by HBK at Mania (in the actual match, after taker kicks out of the Superkick due to a delayed out, HBK geos for another, Taker ducks, picks him up and nails the Tombstone for the finish). They'll face each other at Backlash in which HBK gets the win, the one more time at the next PPV in which Taker wins. They then shake hands afterwards. Orton - HHH - They go back and forth with Triple H in the end beating Orton after interference from Vince (who after Orton decks Triple H with some knucks "pins" Triple H only to have the match restarted) and Stephanie (who during htis period of time, confronts Orton, and kicks him low). Orton then goes on to badmouth Stephanie, etc, etc in which they have a rematch at Backlash where one year to the event he lost the title, Orton reclaims it. Orton then goes on to lose it to Christian as I mentioned before. Additional Spam: Well, on the night that Ring of Honor has it's first televised show, it is also having it's Seven Year Anniversary show. Despite all THAT news, the even huger news is their world champion, Nigel Mcguiness is injured meaning that on the Seventh Anniversary Show (which would be fitting), there might be very well a new world champion. He is suppose to face KENTA, the current NOAH Light Heavyweight champion, and someone who has always been so close regarding winning the title. Other picks might be Jerry Lynn (moving his title shot opportunity up two weeks) and finally Tyler Black (who has an anytime-anywhere title shot) FELIPE NO

Well, Nigel retained but ouch, word is out not one but BOTH biceps are torn. talk about double tough.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
This is more of a "what would be best to happen" with predictions rather than actual predictinos:
Carlito's Vs Miz / Morrison - Instead of having Brie Belle turn on the Carlito's which is obviously forseen and an angle that has happened24342543 times, the Carlito's should win as it makes more sense for the brother team (which s more traditional) to unify the titles and move on. Miz and Morrison have really run their course and done a great job, but it's about that time for them to split up and move into smoething new. Diva's Battle Royal - Either Trish Stratus or Gail Kim should win. Trish defined the woman's division in the last decade and did a lot for the title. She retired as champion. She was OK as a heel, but really effective as a face and almost has gone the level of Sting (most don't / can't really boo her now). Gail Kim defined TNA's woman's division and could be the woman who defines it in the next decade. MITB: Christian or Kane should get it. No one really stands out and the way they have treated Christian has really hurt his stock. Case in point, do you realize that by now he probably already has amassed the same or more losses since his return to the WWE than his entire time in TNA? Kane seems a possibility to have one last, strong push, which was foreshadowed by his win this Monday. I could already see Kane turning face, then, after Edge /Orton get away with some heelish antics, getting pummeled but winning, only for them to hear Kane's music, who destroys them within a minute to get another world title. Edge / Show / Cena - If they aren't turning Cena heel and going with Vickie, then give it to Big Show. Edge has proven himself and needs a break as champ, while Cena doesn't need the title. Have Show win it for some fresh matches, including possibly the Kane scenario I mentioned. Mysterio / JBL - While I don't totally disagree with getting rid fo a few titles, I feel that the IC title has too much history behind it. heck, they just released a DVD on it a few m onths back and had a tournament on it. Mysterio shoudl win it, spoiling JBL's attempted retirement as champion. HBK /.Taker - Taker's streak should not end. Furthermroe, HBK has been taking him down each and every time they do anything together. Taker should win in the end. Orton / HHH - Similar to taker/ HBK, Orton has been taking Trips down each and every week. Not as badly as HBK has been doing it, but still quite a bit. Trips should win in the end, having one world title with a face, and having the "hero" defeat the "Villian". Orton should then beat Triple H in a rematch at Backlash. How ya doing, buddy? |
Looks like we have a new ROH world champion. Unsurprisingly, Nigel lost to Jerry Lynn. Nigel's biceps were both torn so it's no surprise although many fans (at least on the ROH message board) hated the idea of Lynn getting the title.
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Actually, Christian beats Gail by a few weeks.
And actually, Shannon Moore beat Christian by a few years (he got released, became the "Prince of Punk" or something like that for a few weeks in TNA, then got rehired). And don't forget about Jeff Hardy. My mind is foggy on whether he returned before or after Shannon Moore. Also, don't forget about Vader, Goldust, Dusty Rhodes, Roddy Piper, Ricky Steamboat (well, he was a ref for a few big matches) as well. Anyway, predictions in case mine weren't clear: Tag Titles : Miz / Morrison, unfortunately. Jeff Vs Matt: Matt Hardy MITB: Christian Diva's Battle Royale: Trish Stratus taker/HBK: Undertaker Edge/Cena/Show: Cena w/ a twist Orton/HHH: HHH, Orton gets it next month. Note: One rumor going around is Shane will join Orton, as he is a 3rd generation um, promoter, thereby screwing Trips out of the title. My guess is if he did that, Steph would do it too as she too is a 3rd gen promotor. I sincerely hope this isn't the case. The "McMahon's shocking screw the face" has been done over and over again, including Mania 16 and 17. I hope they let the angle run it's course, "McMahon-screwing-the-face" free and have Orton take the gold next month. Additional Spam: And I guess this shows how much the tag titles mean to the WWE. That match has been moved to the pre-show. Additional Spam: Oh, and two other matches: Jericho Vs Legends - Hard to see all the legends losing to Jericho. I mean, you have the longest IC champ of all time and also Roddy Piper. Still, I could almost see Jericho winning, then Flair and "the Wrestler" punking him. Despite that... Winner: Legends (Piper most likely) w/ Help from Mickey and Flair JBL Vs Mysterio - JBL annouces retirement...only for Rey to ruin it by winning the IC title. Winner: Rey Rey This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
