Actually slightly a shame as he had a slightly interesting feud with CHuck Palumbo going. I was just thinking though that he was one strike away from getting canned. Now, that won't ever happen (or did it already?).
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Hm, from Trips to Angle, not a bad change.
Anyway, he really is the only logical choice at this time (and probably was that world champion they had promised last month at their PPV). Additional Spam: Well, if there was any doubt that Booker T was the mystery opponent, that doubt was squashed with this (copied from WrestleView): Near the end, when Sting comes out, there is a flash for a brief minute of a website "http://www.11t11n07a.com/" in reverse. I stopped the video, and copied the web address down. I went to that website, and it was a jigsaw puzzle of sorts and when you finish it, you see the name Huffman in reverse in Graffiti. To the left of the solved puzzle, there is a picture of Sting. Based on this, I am assuming that this is in reference to Sting's mystery partner at TNA's Genesis is none other then Booker T, as anyone may know his last name is Huffman. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Wait...wait, I got it! Everyone is thinking of Huffman because it's Booker T's last name, right? Well, there is ANOTHER person whose last name is Huffman (I should know, because they talked about him a great deal when he made it into the WWE). Now...okay, so he hasn't had a world championship, but he HAS had some WWE gold. He also has had matches with Raven, Undertaker, Shelton Benjamin, Triple H, among others, which he holds victories over several. Yes my friends...the man who will team will Sting is none other than...
Mr. Huffman Mr. Maven Huffman. PLOT TWIST!!! I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Actually, hardcore champion. But he won it! From Taker no less! And then he lost it! To Raven no less!
*cough* Like I said...PLOT TWIST!!! I was speaking idiomatically. |
And in some surprises, but bad ones (possibly), CW Anderon and Vader both have retired. Anderson most likely due to constantly being told 'you have the best match on the card but don't have the main event look'. Vader has retired probably due to his age (just turned 50) and injury (was wanting to have a hip replacement).
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |

Slash....
Spoiler:
Actually, I thought travelling would be a bit better now. For headliners, no more having to go to house shows for Raw, Smackdown!, etc. Instead, only your brand's house shows. Maybe the brand split would work if a.) they had interbrand feuds and b.) that weren't forgotton suddenly when big multi-brand PPV's like survivor series comes up. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
dagget: Haha, that was my first reaction when the cover page of the newest WWE magazine was posted online. I can see it now, "From now all, all magazine writer's, photographers, editors, and everyone else associated with our magazine must sign new contracts where none of their ideas, pictures, etc were written, taken, etc by them!" followed by in unison, "We're done. We are leaving.". I do wonder what would happen if, after Steph blew up at them, what they would do if ALL the [script] writers just up and left at once. Be awesome to do say, right before a big PPV (hint hint).
And Raw's rating did from from 3.8 to 3.5. Ouch. The HBK-Orton match is really a toss up. I can't forsee HBK walking out with the gold totally because it would crush Orton's build-up (although not like that hasn't happened before...) as champ. However, it IS the ten year anniversary of Montreal and the five year anniversary since HBK's last world title win. Maybe he'll win it, via Sharpshooter, but lose it soon after back to Orton. I could also forsee something like the old dusty finish. Ref goes down. Superkick. Other move. Pin. Ref recovers. HBK wins. McMahon reverses decision. People pissed. And we go back to the 1980's... Jam it back in, in the dark. |
So, prediction time:
Diva's Match: Beth Phoenix is on a roll. I think she will basically decimate the other team. Khali/Horns - No way Horns is going over Khali by pinfall or submission. No way Horns is going to take any move from Khali (as that will finish the match). Expect a lot of comedy, and with a count out finish at the end (perhaps some marbles on the floor that Khali slips on to help Horns win). Trips & Company Vs Umaga & Company - Trips lost the title last month and has done only so well since that time. Except Big Daddy V to get DQ'd, MVP to get pinned by Matt, and Kennedy to pin Jeff en route to Trips winning with a pinfall over Umaga. Triple Threat ECW match - It looks like Morrison and Miz are starting a mini-feud on their own. Well... Spoiler:
Punk retains. Batista/Undertaker - So the rubber match more or less. Taker beat Batista at Mania, they drew twice, and then Batista won last month. This is the hardest one to call because it would be unlikely that Taker would lose twice, clean in the ring. Furthermore, Takre was originally suppose to retain his title in this match before his injury. While I would love to see Taker gaining the gold one more time (amazingly 16 years since he first won it), I see Batista retaining. ANd then turning heel short after. HBK/Orton - Everyone is thinking of the Montreal finish playing some sort of role here. Well, I agree that a well-known, old finish will come into play. However, it will be the old DUSTY FINISH. I forsee Orton knocking the ref out, going for an RKO, Michael's countering, instictively hitting the superkick, and eventually getting the pinfall before Vince comes down and says Michaels was DQ'd for using the Superkick. Yes, a lousy ending, but one that would allow HBK to continue his feud with Orton another few months, while allowing Trips to finish his feud with Umaga/Vince and move onto his feud (after Orton beats HBK at the RR) for Mania. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
SLash: Or how about RVD? Eesh, poor guy got punished for months and months and months. I was half-surprised he won against Orton (although Orton then put him out after the match).
Storm: Spoiler:

So...4/6 right. 5/7 if I had remembered to post my pick of Cade/Murdoch after they announced the match.
A few thoughts... As predicted, HBK lost to Orton. My pick was confirmed all that much more when I heard that HBK won't be doing house shows anymore. Kinda a shame, as that is a sign of HBk finally going through his last hurrah, but at the same time Undertaker did that...then went back to full time to win the title (and get injured). I highly doubt HBK will go another month with Orton, so I am wondering who he will feud with next (I am looking at Kennedy since Kennedy was suddenly thrown out of his match with Trips). I had a feeling Edge would interfere in the Taker/Batista match. My guess is either 1) Edge will face Batista next month for the title that he 'never lost' in which Taker will interfere and cost Edge the match (setting up a match for Mania, Streak Vs 'Streak'), or 2) Taker will interfere in said match, but accidently cost Batista the title. Batista will turn heel, and he and Taker will feud with each other with a match at NWO where Taker will finally beat Batista one more time to even the score and get a title shot against Edge (whom Taker will beat and then get that one last, long reign that he was suppose to have a year prior). Why was the ECW title match the FIRST match on the card? Okay guys, yes, it is the 'weaker' title, but you all don't need to put the match at the BOTTOM of the card to remind us. SURELY a WORLD title match for one of your brands with an angle built up for weeks can be placed higher on the card than the TAG TEAM MATCH that was thrown together days earlier... Oh, and I am expecting some sort of Smackdown! star to beat Punk soon as no one is left in ECW. If Matt Hardy beats MVP for the US title, then expect MVP to beat Punk. Speaking of Hardy/MVP, I must say this is a wonderful little feud that has been built up well. It has gone on for months, and things have been kept fairly entertaining. No rush jobs here. I expect that at next month's PPV for Matt to get the title from MVP, and then for a brief title the brothers holding the secondary titles on Raw and Smackdown!. MVP will then get the ECW title. And while on the topic of that match. WHoa. Continuity. They actually ACKNOWLEDGED past angles. Wow, a rare case where they don't pretend we have an attention span ranging from 2 weeks to 1 year on angles. How about that? Of course, I am speaking of Trips talks with Kane and Jeff Hardy. Speaking of Trips, no surprise with what happened to him although I don't know where he can go from here... Part of me likes how James is pushed in the woman's tag match. Part of me though thinks they should seriously have their woman's champion dominant the match en route to a feud with the returning Candice. Also...I swear it was an elimination match...would have been good to showcase the champ with just such a match. So Finley saved Horns. I guess Finley is making a face turn. The thing is though...just WHERE will this lead him? I was hoping they would break them off because neither can really benefit anymore and I felt Horns could just beat Khali by count out due to some prank. Oh well...MAYBE it will work out (doubtful though). And of course Holly's short-lived face turn may be ending soon. Maybe. He seems to have relatively short face turns (his last one was only a few weeks in ECW) but that seems to be the nature of his character. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rhodes and him win the straps very soon though, as it seems foolish to just have them feud, instantly team, then instantly feud again. Better to build that angle up... I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
SOnic: You got it. It's like how we can say that Samoa Joe or Christian was 'undefeated in TNA for one and a half to two years'.
Most amazing jew boots |
I recently finished a book on ECW in which the very last chapter was basically about the new ECW. More or less, it ended with, after Heyman continually telling Vince that people didn't want Lashley as champ, but instead PUnk or RVD (in which Vince said he was pushing only Lashley and get with the program), fans being shocked seeing Punk being eliminated first, RVD third, Sabu being replaced by Holly, the PPV ending 30 minutes early because they forgot to allow Lashley to have his ten minute 'rocky' celebration at the end (which might have been a good thing given how much he got booed by the audience), and Vince/Steph being shocked and blaming Heyman for the failure causing Heyman to leave the company (and Steph and others to celebrate).
Wow, how about that for a single sentence? At any rate, we all know the current ECW, with the exception of Punk and MOrrison, blows. Miz just isn't there but has potential. Big Daddy V could have been a monster, but they pushed him multiple times inthe past, if he wins the belt there really isn't any direction with him, and he's basically migrating to Smackdown! and be on their roster exclusively soon enough. Dreamer loses 99.9% of his matches, Sandman, RVD, and Sabu are all gone (as predicted a year back), and the brand itself isn't getting any real new talent, just those from Smackdown! because the roster consisted only of 12 people at the time. Seriously, WHO is in a position to win the ECW title now? At least Smackdown! has contenders (Taker, Edge) as well as Raw (Trips, HBK). What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Haven't seen it but read about it. Heard Jericho was taking away the long locks and adding a few new moves.
Whoa...one of my 1000 possible ideas actually happened tonight in the form of Kennedy and HBK. How about that. Only took...again, a 1000 tries. It's unlikely Jericho will win the title I hate to say. Supposedly he's on a reduced schedule or such. ALso, I heard Trips was pencilled in to face Orton for the title at Mania. Of course, as we saw with Orton/Batista and Trips some years back, things can change... How ya doing, buddy? |
I forsee a Royal Rumble win...as in the royal rumble itself. It would be wise to hold off the match though until Mania. How they can keep Jericho and Orton occupied thougn until said time, I dunno.
What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Well, some bad news and foolish news.
The bad news is what i thought might be going on in that Matt Hardy is injured. HE had to have surgery and will be out a few months. I had a feeling on this due to what happened at SUrvivor Series. I had hoped this wouldn't happen due to his feud with MVP, but maybe they can keep Hardy around on the mic, as they did with MVP when he had to sit out for a month or so. The foolish is that Shelton Benjamin is now on ECW (and therefore also Smackdown!). Very strange given that he had teamed with Haas the night prior for a loss. I guess there goes the WGTT (even though they kinda didn't do so well this time around), and probably Haas as well who was lost when he returned, semi-lost when he got teamed up again, and probably will be again now. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
He may very well as sometimes a certain mask/tights/boots represent something. For example, Rey Mysterio wore a certain type of mask during his more significant wins, I think Trips wore a special type of boots for his Mania 20 defense, Michaels wore a special set of tights for his farewell match (at the time) almost ten years ago, Austin wore a special type of vest in his last match, and so on.
I thought the new look was nice. Jericho obviously wanted to freshen up his look, I guess to remind people that it's a fresh start, and a new one for Jericho. HIs promo was decent, and people were really into it. Some though felt he was TOO excited, but what can one expect when ya get pumped from that crowd? Sides, let the man enjoy it...I'm sure the WWE will mess it all up when things are said and done. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
I can see it now when Jericho had things set up for his contract:
Jericho: "Oh, and i come back, I want to win the WWE title." *THinks of beating Randy Orton* vince: "Oh, sure, no problem. Just sign right here!" *Thinksof Jericho climbing up a ladder to grab the the title during a title defense in a match he wasn't involved in, only to be beaten 2 minutes later by challenger, Triple H* This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Well, brothers, looks like Hulk Hogan is single.
Linda Hogan files for divorce from Hulk - Yahoo! News All kidding (and annoyed feelings do to what he did during the latter years of WCW, among other things), a shame to see this happen, especially at Hogan's age. It seems that just about every wrestler nowadays is divorcing. Rock. Bret Hart. Of course, Ric Flair. And now, the Hulkster. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
So there goes Trips staying a face like he supposedly wanted to do.
Makes slight sense given that 1) there is a small number of heels and 2) no one else is realyl a good candidate to turn heel. Still, we HAVE seen this over, and over, and OVER again... I was speaking idiomatically. |
SuperSonic: Yeah, I am talking about main event heels. There ARE heels, but few of them are properly built up.
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
I think Jericho said he was changing his moveset some as part of freshening up his character. It could also be due to 1) if he used the Liontamer/Walls of Jericho and not got a submission win, he would look week and 2) him still getting rid of ring rust. The lionsault is a potentially dangerous and crippling move (in fact, one wrestler was paralyzed messing it up) and so he might need more time to feel better using that move.
I read about the Vicki/Edge thing and generally feel uncomfortable on it all. I feel bad for Edge and Vicki too, as I dunno how much choice they had in the matter. I feel annoyed by Vince and others for thinking it's entertainment, as it certainly doesn't seem to entertain me, or most others. Then again, we also saw the Crossface, so I guess to Vince, we don't matter. FELIPE NO |
I still remember his blink-and-you-miss-it finisher, the breakdown. Basically Jarrett's move. He beat Rock with it for the WCW title...and then that was about it.
Jericho is going to get the DQ win against Orton. I just know it. Then, the fans will decide from there. If Jericho's popularity fades away, he'll lose at the Royal Rumble (and Trips will get to face Orton...or maybe Flair). However, if things are still red hot, he'll probably not get a title match until Mania 24 and win the title there. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
He doesn't have to be given a title run before 'Mania. In fact, a common trick for Mania is to have a heel champion defending the title against the face challenger.
Right now, I see three possibilities for Mania 24. It depends on whose angle is the strongest. First is Jericho Vs Orton. If that feud dies down and the fans don't like it, then it may be Flair Vs Orton, Career for Title (in which Flair retires and Orton gets to call himself again the legend killer). Last would be Trips Vs Orton. WIth recent events, I wouldn't be surprised that Scotty Steiner leaves. However, he has had some decent matches, and he is reunited with Rick in which fans seem to enjoy. So I don't think he'll be the one to go. It looks strange to me, as Cage just started a new feud with Booker, but looks to be about to turn face again. My guess is that the booking team realize that the Booker/Cage feud has happened more then enough, with each guy trading wins and titles against each other. Hence, this feud may be cut short, probably with Cage being turned on, and then 'surprisingly' helped by Booker T. This will lead into Booker eventually facing Angle for the title. Additional Spam: Oh, and prediction time: Angle Alliance Vs Nash/Hall/Joe - Obviously, they need to set up next month's feud. I don't forsee anyone from Angle's team getting the win. Instead, I see either Joe or Nash getting the win (Hall is highly unlikely). Most likely Nash as Joe/Angle has been played out. Possibly Cage will cause Styles to lose the match as Style will cause Cage to lose his match. However, Nash pinning Angle is also good (although people will groan given Nash's um, limited movement and wrestling skills). Booker/Kaz Vs Cage/Roode - There is no way that BOoker is losing in this match. Most likely it will be Booker pinning Cage to build Booker up. Cage will lose most likely due to Styles, setting up that feud. Abyss/Rhino Vs Reign/Relik - Most likely Abyss/Rhino getting the win here. The only possibility of them not winning is Judias returning and costing them the win. Six Man Tables Match - The MCMG will win this one with Jay Lethal. They need to be set up for their tag title match against Styles/Tomko in the future. Gail Kim Vs Amazing Kong - Gail will retain the title. Kong will get a rematch later in which she'll get the title from Kim. Feast or Get Fired - No clue honestly. TOo hard to tell. Young/Storm - Storm will get the win, possibly with the help of a bottle. Ladies Tag Match - I suppose ODB/Roxxi. Jam it back in, in the dark.

A lot of people feel that Flair's matches are just chopfests anymore. In all fairness though, what do you expect with a guy who is 58 years old? He can't REALLY do all those moves he did before because 1) everyone else does and 2) he just isn't physically capable of doing those moves every night. However, Flair brings that aura with him no matter where he goes. That special aura, and also that ability to perform awesomely in a match when it truly counts. Granted, the examples I can provide are with stellar opponents, but just look at his matches with Triple H, Edge, and Undertaker. During those times, you'd think Flair just stepped out of a time machine from the 80's or such with the back and forth, high-paced, story-provoking match in the ring.
As I have said all along, while I am not the biggest Flair fan on the planet, it is a sad time to see him finally retiring. I remember when he was 'retired' by Hogan, which was about when I started to watch wrestling, and I was sad I didn't get to see such a legend. Luckily, he stuck around for another 13, maybe 14 years. I do think he should get one last world title run. It doesn't need to be long. One week...heck, one NIGHT would suffice because it would be right for a guy like Flair, and furthermore erase the disgrace that his last world title win was...HANDED to him. In truth, after thinking about it, Flair Vs Orton for the title would seem like a nice fit...IF Flair beats Orton at Mania for the title...then loses it back the next night. Have Flair have his moment, and then have Orton beat him back for the title, and retire him. Everyone benefits, and the WWE and it's fans can benefit from one of those oh so few 'feel good' moments. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
