Taiko Drum Master hasn't seen another release here in the US. If you wanna play more of that, you either need a modded or a Japanese PS2 and buy or burn some of the Japanese Taiko games available.
If anything for Guitar Hero/Rock Band, just buy the game and just pick up a used guitar.
A used PS2 GH Guitar runs for about $15. The first two Guitar Hero games and Aerosmith run for $17.99. And the third Guitar Hero runs for about $24.99. Rock Band 2 goes for $45.99. Rock Band 1 goes for $29.99. If it's any consolation, the Guitar Hero guitar works with Rock Band.
Personally, I would pick up Taiko because I love playing obscure, relatively unknown music games that most US audiences wouldn't know about. I'm a
beatmania IIDX player, but like Taiko, it didn't do to well over here, therefore not getting another release. You'd only get the full experience if you get the Japanese version which are still going very strong in the music game community.
But seeing as how a modded PS2 or Japanese PS2 isn't an option, go for Guitar Hero/Rock Band. Preferrably Guitar Hero 2. Guitar Hero II had some of the best songs in the series as well as not being to overly difficult. It also fixed the timing window that was a huge problem in the first game.
