As I mentioned earlier, whoever you're matched up against, you have that week to assign a date and time on when you can battle. I'm aware that people have odd hours to deal with, so the week long period should be enough time to satisfy clan matches.
And what do you guys think of regional captains? The US is split up into West Coast, Central, and East Coast, and everywhere else in the world evens out the final division. If we plan to make eight clans in total, two people fight for captain positions on the West, two people fight for Central, two people fight for the East... And if it's just Krel and Infernal getting the games overseas... Then I guess those two are already captains. (I dunno where anyone is on this board. )Afterwards, regardless of where you are, you can get chosen by any of the clan captains to join their team. ... Something like that. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Bonsly is pretty useful. You just have to chuck it at your opponent and should you connect...
*WOOSH!! And I was browsing around BrawlCentral to see if anything had been updated, I rememberd they had a tournament going on and checking the thread, I noticed they had the Neutral Stage selection and the Counter Stages, the list itself is pretty good: Netural Legal Stages (6) Battlefield Final Destination Lylat Cruise Smashville Yoshi's Island Pokémon Stadium Counterpicks (17) Frigate Orpheon Mushroomy Kingdom (Overworld/Underworld) Delfino Plaza Luigi's Mansion Battleship Halberd Castle Siege The Summit Mario Circuit Port Town Aero Dive Corneria Shadow Moses Island Green Greens Jungle Japes Rainbow Ride Brinstar Electroplankton Green Hill Zone Pokémon Stadium 2 Skyworld Onett Yoshi's Island (Melee) This means, the remaining stages are banned: Banned (11) Rumble Falls Norfair Spear Pillar Wario Ware Distant Planet 75M Mario Bros. Flatzone 2 Pictochat Hyrule Temple Big Blue I could understand why WarioWare is a banned stage, Pictochat, not as much. I don't get why the Great Sea isn't a banned stage... That fish is fucking annoying... I also don't understand why Norfair is banned, but not Brinstar... They're pretty much the same thing. Otherwise, what do you guys think of this list? For our tournament, we could pretty much customize this the way we want so everyone is happy. The only one I'd remove from the banned list is Pictochat. (Not sure if any are missing from the list. If there's anything I missed) Jam it back in, in the dark. |
I don't follow the tourney format too hard either when facing my friends or anything, but I do agree with some of the crap they're saying. I'm not even remotely good enough to participate in the "hardcore" tournaments, so I disagree with some stuff here and there too. I don't think Norfair, Pictochat, or Spear Pillar should be banned from our tournament. I personally like those stages and hope to fight people there. Supposedly their arguements for those banned stages: Norfair: The lava. Ow, it hurts. It hurt in Brinstar also, I don't see how this is any different. Pictochat: What's drawn in the background is completely random, the stage could quickly change the momentum of a match. Spear Pillar: All the effects that happen on stage. Dialga's Hyper Beam, Palkia flipping the stage upside down... That stuff. I personally don't care about their arguments on it since it's something that could easily be overcome with constant practice. And I just want to make sure everyone is alright with having 4 stock, 8 minutes for the battles (this is probably the third time I've asked also). Decent amount of lives to go by and the time limit assures that nothing goes on too long and prevents people from doing some hardcore camping. Feel free to disagree with anything I say regarding the tournament and the clans. I want to make sure everyone is satisfied before we even start running one. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
![]() Every time Bonsly pops out, I'm usually rushing towards him to throw at someone. I'll do anything for an easy KO. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |

Also, tournament discussion: Here. Just so we don't spam up this thread with constant disagreement of the tourneyfag set of rules. As for the Screenshot of the Week idea, we start on Sunday? You have until next Friday to submit a screenshot, and we vote on the weekends? I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
We already talked about this before Brawl came out... I believe Lukage has a Team Speak server we could use to chat with each other.
I'll add you in the morning, Cheeze. Today's Update: Ganondorf Even Sakurai is cracking on Ganon for not using his sword. ![]() I was speaking idiomatically. |
Finally, I managed to unlock every stage and complete a couple more challenges... Especially that Level 2 Target Smash in under 19 seconds? I didn't realize how many items I had to use for it. But Target mode is a bitch within itself. Anyone got a video on how you can complete Level 4 within that challenge time limit?
Awesome av/sig, Acer. Samus and Pikachu - BFF <3 What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
It's never as easy as it looks. This dude just gets lucky that they're not striking back. Every time I attempt something like that, I always end up getting smacked out of the stage.

They're always pursuing you if you go off the edge... I'll try that Jigglypuff thing though. o_o
Edit: FINALLY. 11 KOs is good enough for me in Cruel Brawl. I'm never going back to that mode again. ![]() Also, today's update: Pokemon Encyclopedia. Speaking of which, anyone see Manaphy yet? What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Nonetheless it's still tricky as hell to beat it with everyone. Everyone and their mother knows that some characters have better advantages over these bosses (Lucario [Dair], Lucas [Dair], Toon Link [Dair]...), while others have NOTHING going for them.
This is gonna suck. T_T Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Why not use his Dair? It's much more effective. o_o
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
The home run ones aren't that bad. You could probably just settle for hitting it at 0% and then walking away.
The highest you need to reach is about 37,500 feet, I believe. I did all of the Target test ones, and the 100 Man Brawl is gonna be a bitch. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
![]() I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
You could, but I don't think it would affect anything. I believe most of these challenges are Solo Records.
I was speaking idiomatically. |
Just checked out that Ganon/Ice Climbers video. Holy crap. Me and my friend only managed to max out around 3000 with the twin Yoshi method.
Edit: And just to see the support of the other idea, I wanna start the Screenshot of the Week Contest pretty soon. You have until next Thursday to submit a screenshot with some witty caption to me. On Friday, I'll post up a thread with the screenshots, and we vote until Sunday. The submitter of the screenshot won't be revealed until that Sunday. Sound good? What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Late as hell, but...
Today's Updates: Smash Taunts Basically the secret taunts in Corneria, Lylat Cruise, and Shadow Moses Island. FELIPE NO |
And playing it alone.
![]() Shit ain't easy though. I tried running it through Normal with Wolf. Only got 5 bosses killed before I lost. ![]() What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
But it's still gonna be a drag to go off and beat it with everyone. ![]() Jam it back in, in the dark. |
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Additional Spam: Today's Update: Peach's Special Moves and SSE: The Great Maze Nothing special about either. It does show the picture of the sickly Turnip though, so you know what to look for. The Great Maze just explains what it is. <_< This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

So there are no limits in this tournament right now. I still don't see why people still have some sort of problem with it. o_o I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
My question is, how would you know who chose random characters over a Wi-Fi match?
Is no one ever happy with any decisions I make regarding the tournament? I get shit at for trying to ban stages, and I'm still getting shit for allowing all stages. What exactly do I need to do to get you people to sign up? I'm serious at this point. It's obvious people still aren't fucking happy with this whole tournament, and everyone's sense of fairness is still pretty opinionated. So honestly, tell me in the Tournament Discussion thread, because according to wvlfpvp, there's still a case of faggotry residing there. You people pressure me to get it started when I still need more people to sign up for it. So... I'D LIKE TO FUCKING KNOW WHAT'S STILL WRONG WITH THIS TOURNAMENT THAT'S PREVENTING PEOPLE FROM SIGNING UP. I'M OPEN TO IDEAS. I was speaking idiomatically. |
The timer is just there just so no match drags on too long and we don't have to have some complaint story that no one made a move in New Pork City after 20 minutes. People are allowed to choose their own stage and whatever character they feel they could use to win that certain match. It would kinda suck sticking with the same one. Not even tourneyfags in Pro Tournaments do that. If people wanna just do a normal tournament, that's perfectly fine with me. I understand that everyone is in a state of confusion after the whole tourneyfag debate back in the discussion thread. I'll close up the discussion thread, and ask Slash to close up the sign-up thread, create a new one for just so we could have March Smashness before March ends and there will be no tournament/league talk involved. Just a normal, "let's duke it out" tournament where everyone could have fun. The rules will be: 4 stock, 8 minutes All Items On - Low All Stages No debates saying that this is unfair either. I just want to have a Smash tournament where people could have fun, since that was my original intention of this whole thing anyway. Either you sign up, or you don't. I'll think of some sort of cut-off date so we can get it started. And I understand about lag also, I'm willing to take that risk. ![]() What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
