I have nostalgic love for FF4...It shouldn't take more than 20 hours or so to beat, but a LOT goes in that time frame. Whereas most RPG's nowadays need 5 hours just to get motivated, a whole bunch of stuff happens in that timeframe in FF4 and I often can't help myself from seeing it through to the end (similar to CT usually works out). Outside of good old FF6, easily my favorite FF cast and some of the boss fights are amazingly fun/tense. I also respect this game because it won't hesitate to kill you (though if you've played as much as I have, you'll learn a couple of leveling tricks that ease things...Just remember that characters come in at a level at or near your current ones, so if you beef Cecil up early enough, it saves a lot of time later).

Spoiler:
Best thing to do is with the Cecil/Cid/Tellah/Yang team, go outside the Silver Town (forget the name), have Tellah and Cid dead (since you'll lose them shortly after) and power level Cecil and Yang for about an hour (they gain more experience with just the two of them than with all four characters alive). That way, you get Rosa, Rydia, Kain and Edge at great levels shortly after.

And while I have the spoiler tags up...I always enjoyed the ending, where Golbez decides to stay on the moon. At the time, that type of thing was unheard of in RPG's. Not to mention his entire turn, which caught me by surprise. The wedding bit was kind of tacky though...

Man, I'd love to see this game remade and milked out the wazzoo, like FFVII and FFXIII are getting.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Yeah, agreed...The extra material in FFIV Advance almost isn't worth that hassle.

Almost. One of these days, I'll suffer through the slowdown and unresponsive enemies for the chance to finish the game with Cecil/Cid/Palom/Porom/Edward (maybe Edge instead, incase I need to steal the Dark Matter...but definitely Cid and the twins).

What I don't get: FFIV was practically an SNES launch title, FFVI was one of the games to push the SNES's limits...How the hell are they going to get FFVI even playable on GBA? :juggler:

There's nowhere I can't reach.
