http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?...t%5Fid=T000577

Figured I'd bump this to re-prod the interest. Also, I see the release, at least on Gamestop, as December 1, 2006. 4th Quarter like promised.

Of course, this is Gamestop, so take it with a grain of salt.

How ya doing, buddy?
Hey, maybe you should try that thing Chie was talking about.

Fuckin' horrible reviewer.

Obviously, the folks who reviewed it despised the classic "Adventure" genre. Muddy graphics? Crude 3D? Dude, it's a HANDHELD CONSOLE. I think that the fully-rendered 3D display looks dynamite considering the system. It's not the damn PS2.

Trial & Error is the POINT of Adventure games =( Otherwise, what the hell is the purpose of playing? You're supposed to explore and think lots.

I hate his rant on "missing texts" and not being able to re-read them. Shitloads of games have this same sort of feature, wherein once a message is gone, you can't get it looped.

The game looks fantastic, and the review footage makes me want it all-the-more. Seems like something that oldschool gamers like myself will enjoy.

Goes to show that review sites and what-not are out of their gourd 99% of the time on reviews.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Old school adventure is about right =D Has a few dark-humor chuckles in my opinion. The choices for dialogue are either kind/passive to downright cruel.

Some scene I just went through had a kid bawling on the stairs that I was trying to go up. One choice was to console her, the other was "Dammit, get the hell out of my way!"

The cynical cracks about the dingy hotel by the main character are quite funny, and to boot, the main character has a shady past. I just played it for a bit and I think it was money well-spent.

The artwork and character animations are slick. This one dude walked out of his room with a rather glum look on his face, and the first response was "why the long face?" The guy's face then changed, as he tried to dodge the topic.

It reeks of noir-ish stuff, which is what I hoped for. Burnt out cop who retired three years prior is now a salesman. A traveling salesman, which, in this era, was incredibly rough. Living out of a suitcase and that old chestnut.

He's paged on a beeper and contacts his boss, Ed, who tells him to head to Hotel Dusk for sales. Also tells him to wait there on a package. Pretty much how the game starts. Once you get to your room, you talk to a girl who is Ed's secretary. Kind of gives you a glimpse into the main character's background and personality a bit more.

I'd use more names, but I keep forgetting 'em. OH WELL. I think it's great ;D Recommended if you enjoyed old NES adventure games or PC P'n'C.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Ooooh. The Dig <3 I suggest you try Grim Fandango, to boot, for humor.

But yeah, this is a rather dark game. Don't expect light-hearted jokes that often =o Unsure what the secrets are of the hotel, but you can tell immediately that there are some things buried, per se.
