Tritoch --
Folks on Gamefaqs are confused as well, but a few folks mention that the "delayed 'till 18th" thing should've been announced by ATLUS in its entirety (mis-information?). I've already been billed, so I think the "processing" stage means they're throwing it out the door, but it's not quite there.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I get mine today. Tracker says it's en route <3

Oddly enough, it arrived here in Houston, and it's going elsewhere, THEN being delivered back to me o_o I won't ask questions... Just gotta find out when UPS drops by the office here.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Just got it! I went out to run errands (and waste time), found out after checking online that it came in a minute or two after I left. Real mad that they left it ON MY FUCKING DOORMAT. Really easily stolen in a spot like that. It was there for half an hour, poor baby ;__; But no matter! Time to play!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I tried running this on the PS2 emulator, and it locks up after showing the ATLUS logo and stuff =( Had my hopes up... Now it looks like I won't be able to play it for four weeks after this Tuesday. Sigh...

Anyhow! Two hours in to it and I'm floored. I love this game. The characters, voice acting, humor, gameplay, music, graphics, combat, it's all fantastic. Top-notch. Period.

Got bored and decided to keep my main character's name Japanese to flow well with others. I screwed up and accidentally accepted, but I believe the name is Harima Asado (First, Last respectively). Meh.

This is the first game to draw me in for a few hours in one sitting. Console games are great, but I have the need to get up, check e-mail, etc. I love multitasking, hence why I do computer gaming so much. Anyhow, I played and kept going until nature called. And I figured that was a good stopping point.

A+. $50 well-spent, I must say. I also love how they kept it very Japanese-feeling. ATLUS localizers must love anime, because the honorifics were left in place =) Big plus, since localizing of some nicknames often doesn't work out well. Still, it feels weird to hear an English voice actor refer to Yukari as Yuka-tan. I keep thinking "Yucatan?"

Regarding Tartarus...
Spoiler:
You may think it's monotonous, but bear in mind that it's basically training sessions. The real deal is every Full Moon. That is where storyline kicks back in =d I'm mad right now because I cleared the first block, went in to the second, and got my ass CLOBBERED. Plus I didn't save for a few days prior to that, so I had to re-go through stuff. I don't wanna fight that armored boss again but oh well ;_; Any advice on how to survive in Block 2?

I avoid fights, or keep going. If you're grinding, just leave once two folks are fatigued. If you're hoping to hit a floor-multiple of 5, then dodge monsters =o

When you get an additional party member, it seems hard to fatigue folks. I just got my fourth and I've been steamrolling through things.

It seems my first attempt at the 2nd part of Tartarus was just bad luck. Word of advice: wait for your fourth party member before trying beyond the first 15 floors. Many enemies beyond that are weak vs thunder, and without the fourth person, you have little chance of killing the critters.

I had to wait for exam week to finish before I could finally start looking through the second area of the dungeon. And thankfully, the experience is quite impressive.

Rock --
I agree, I'd like the ability to manage equipment via one status screen rather than talk to each member. But that's a minor gripe.

As I said, fatigue becomes a slight non issue later on, you'll go through many floors before a party member gets tired. Also, you don't lose Personas "permanently" when you fuse them. I forgot what month, either the second or so, you get the compendium and you can "record" the ones you have on you, with all their skills etc and buy them back at a later date. Orpheus, your main persona comes with the book If I remember correctly.
Boy. Wish I did that before I combined two higher leveled ones I had. On well -- only one way to learn =Y

Well, the lady in the Velvet room starts giving you quests at some point. And a number of them involve fusing. That's the main reason I looked in to it, really =o But once ya do it one time, you're kinda hooked >_>

I'm pretty sure you'd be able to re-acquire old persona, as long as you don't have it on your person =o

I've fused all the newer ones to make nifty persona and have already re-acquired all the ones I lost.

I should really grind them at some point then save those in the compendium once they have their skills...

I'm about 12hrs in and I've just wrapped up the second month. Plus, unless things change, it seems like I'll need to do a new game (there's a new game+) in order to try out the other athletic clubs. Plus, I think you're timed on joining the academia clubs. I got the academia level to enter one of them and it had a note pretty much saying "you're too late" so I dunno... Either way, these first two months are shortened...:
Spoiler:
First month, you're out of it for a week or so. Second month, you have exams, and that auto-pilots you through six days or so.

The overall length is becoming very daunting. Some folks are making mention that it might be as long as Dragon Quest VIII or even VII in order to do everything. And with this dynamic storyline of sorts, I think I can deal with that!

Oh. And for working on Charm, Courage, and Academics, look at this website:
http://www.neoseeker.com/Games/cheat...persona_3.html

It answered some unknowns and gave me some insight in to nice ways to gain those stats =) Hope it helps!

For those of ya'll who want to grind, wait until the day before a full moon. Days before full moons are set so that you NEVER wear out. Infinite stamina, so no getting tired =o

I've heard talk of it, tried it, and I'm pretty sure it works! In a few hours, I have grinded most of my personae until they know all their possible skills. Fusion time~

Also, try to do the quests involving the rare creatures. You get weapons with 100 Attack and 99 Hit. The first one (bow) is nice, but the second (2-h weapon) is even handier. I tried it on my main character but the swing to start fights is too slow as a result. I gave it to Iori and he's doing nicely.

If you're stuck at a deadline, just bring lots of revival items and grind it out the night before the full moon (it'll have a 1 by the moon icon in the upper-right). You NEVER get fatigued.

Mobs have, like, 200° of visual range, whereas gold ones have 300°, I've read. For golds, you have to sit back and watch. I ONLY approach them if I'm following their path precisely. You have to be pretty meticulous and nail them in the back. As a plus, after doing this for a while, you get pretty good about sneaking up on mobs in a timely fashion so you can get a player advantage.

Once in battle, don't waste turns. Order your allies to conserve SP so they will definitely attack. Any magic comes up as "blocked" and does nothing. Their weakness is supposedly random, but I noticed that in the first block, it always seemed to be piercing (bow) that hurt them. Second block I ran in to a couple and it seemed the main character's one-handed sword attacks were their weakness. Maybe just luck of the draw...

How do you recommend taking down the Emperor boss on 2nd Block, past midway? He uses wind stuff and hits two-timers pretty often D= I'm around lev 21 and don't wanna try again quite yet. He's the second boss in the 2nd half. Big horseback dude.

The XP difference is rather large between the first and second blocks, but I STRONGLY recommend that you have someone or something with Zio (electricity). Otherwise, you will get squashed, and *fast*.

It depends on the angle, not number of people. To get a gold, you have to approach from almost DIRECTLY BEHIND the enemy. Other mobs don't react fast and you can get them from the front and surprise them still. I've done that once with a gold, but I wouldn't recommend the method.

Number of people won't matter. Besides, it'd hedge your odds for killing the thing since they enjoy running.

Well, given Persona 3's success, I wouldn't rule FES as an impossibility. ATLUS has showed an abnormal dedication to this series, and they might very well push for its release. But isn't it a smaller game, ie: expansion? Would they sell it for $20-$30 as opposed to the usual pricetag?

Getting ahead of myself, but still. Trying to be positive :3 Aard, I'm still a ways off from beating it thanks to intervention due to work... But what did you clock at in the end (how long did it take you to beat it)?

For the card-draws, I use a little trick to pick out which one I want... The cards themselves hover in place and sloooooowly sway at tilts/angles. Keep an eye on how much some are tilted and keep a note of it. Such as the one you want being tilting far to the left. Tell it to shuffle fast and keep note the one you want is now tilting far to the RIGHT (since it flipped around). Then pick the one most like that after shuffling is done. You have to do it at the right time though because they still hover/shift during the card shuffle.

This has yet to fail me really >_>; I got pissed off with how fast some draws went when it had something I wanted, so I spotted this and it works 100% of the time. Just hafta time it right.

Jam it back in, in the dark.
