You can apply for actual loans, ie: Stafford or Federal Subsidized Loans, alongside Pell Grants (if the family is of lower-income).
I survived off Pell Grant combined with a few other Grants and a Federal Loan on occasion. However, Pell grant was yanked out from under me right before this last summer. My work often covered the fees, but I'm slipping into the red in this last semester. Duo -- Do you mean that you never got notification for a Federal Loan, ever? What sort of college are you shooting for attending? Most in-state ones shouldn't be too extreme on costs... RPG Maker -- Dude, don't worry about it. I wouldn't be concerned if the draft comes into effect. Here's the thing: IF the draft ever kicked in, there'd be a huge shitstorm on politicians. They will avoid it if at all possible. Any talk of the draft within the next decade do come is a fear tactic, I assure you. Plus, if draft comes about, don't worry about yourself. The government has college boys VERY low on the list for drafting. They will snag your high school chums who decided to go off and pave cement for a living as soon as they get their HS Diploma. Even once you graduate, if you attend grad school or not, depending upon your major you might not be picked. If you're doing something that'll benefit things at home, they won't snag you. College boys are snagged LAST, and even if they are, they are often put in cushier jobs (mostly true for science majors). You're making a mountain out of a molehill. Jam it back in, in the dark.
Hey, maybe you should try that thing Chie was talking about.
