Depends on placement of the door. If I am in a smaller room for one of my major classes (15-40 people), I'll sit near the middle where my buddies are.
Back in my 100-class days where I would have 200+ students in my room per class, I would sit near the back often because that's where the entrance/exit was found. And I prefer quick entrances/escapes when crowds get humongous. Jam it back in, in the dark.
