Here's an swf version of the same trailer.

http://61.195.57.11/members/special/...us13_Movie.swf

The trailer was pretty good, though not really much to rave about. I mean most of the key shots from it were already shown in high res screens.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Some Japan Playstation Magazine scans for FFXIII, Versus, and Agito in the below link as well.

Hey this Shiva turning into a motorcycle thing actually backs up the theory about the heroine possibly being Ixion, presented previously. Heh, this is quite fascinating.

That's not even Disney, that's definitely Daffy Duck. SE-WB cross over to come?

Wow the music pieces on the site is pretty good. I really like the second track (the one after the piano piece) which sounds like a final/remixed version of the theme they used in the very first trailer. Who's composing for 13? If I remembered correctly, Uemastsu has no involvement so it can't be him.

Oh and there's an article on Kotaku that explain's 13's battle system. It doesn't sound too complicated, which is always a good thing. The enchanced ATB seems to be based on time allotted for the character's actions during their turn. Now I wonder how character/enemy turns are determined, eg. by ATB like FF7 and FF8, or by CTB like FF10.

Quote:
Command Stock: Players selection which action they'd like to from a cluster of five "Action" slots.
Cost: Each of these five actions has a number attached to it and denote the number of slots a particular action requires.
Enhanced ATB (Active Time Battle): This refers to the bar under Lightning's name (the one with "444"). Players can perform various actions before it is empty. Commands with higher "Cost" drain the ATB bar faster.
Symbol Encounter: Enemies appear on the game's map. There is no battle screen transition.
Chain & Bonus: Found at the screen's top right. "Chain" refers to the number of consecutive hits inflicted. It's not clear what "Bonus" refers to, but Famitsu thinks it's related to Final Fantasy VII's Limit Break.
Enemy HP: The HP and names of your foes are displayed — unlike previous games.

April 2010 the earliest for the NA release? Figures, even if they weren't porting it (going multi-platform), the localization would have took time anyway. I wonder why SE always decides to do the localization after the Japanese release. Seeing as how localization usually takes about 6 months, we can estimate that Japanese release will probably be around November 2009, that's assuming port is concurrently being done with the localization (most likely is) and that it takes equal amount of time. If FF13 sees a summer release in Japan then I'll just import a copy.

Hmm, so it appears that combat is some form of ATB (in terms of character turns). I noticed that cost bar immediately replenishs after the character's turn, and does so at the same time as the bar underneath the HP number (heh, no actually HP bar this time it seems). I guess the cost bar is the ATB bar. The cost system thing seems pretty simple enough, looks like on average you'll have enough for 3 attacks (1 cost points each) and casting magic (the field casts at least) takes all the cost (or rather 3 cp). I imagine your cost bar increases as you level, otherwise that would be pretty lame if they capped it at 3. The trailer is also available on the JPSN without subtitles and sporting a "Coming 2009 for Playstation 3" message at the end.

Slightly off-topic, also on the JPSN you can download a trailer for FF7AC Complete. Looks pretty good, so far it just seems like they're adding even more action (Cloud all bloodied up in his fight against Sephiroth). Nice addition showing Tseng and Elena being attacked by the newly born Kadaj, Loz, and Yazoo. Plus Tifa actually getting some action against the shadow creeper things. If the japanese release actually comes with english voice overs (which I doubt, since it's SE we're probably looking at 4-6 months for them to dub the new stuff and release it) like Play-Asia seems to be implying, then maybe I'll import a copy of the version that comes with the FF13 trial.

I gotta say, the battle system in FF13 is kind of reminding me of Chrono Cross'. The cost ATB system I mean, it's sounds and looks similiar to CC's stamina system. It's been a long time since I last played, so I don't remember if you could combo a physical attack with a magic one like it appears you can do in FF13.

Oh and it's pretty neat how Mayaa Sakamoto is playing the lead in the game. I'm hoping for dual audio as well, and should be possible with blu-ray. But seeing as how it's multiplatform, I think it might be an unlikely thing to happen. Since I imagine they're trying to keep things even for both versions, and I rather doubt dual audio is capability for the 360 version (unless they're giving the game a multi-disc treatment).

Ruliweb has some great HD caps of the demo on their site, as well as SD and mp4 options. Heh, watching the HD capture on my PS3 as I'm writing this, it's almost like I got a copy of the demo in the drive =)

Just saw the trailer from the PS3 conference. I'm rather surprised that they've already started on the english dub, that's so unlike SE. Also, do my eyes deceive me or have they re-animated the mouth movements to match the english dialogue? If so, then I'm impressed. Though, that will probably lead to the Japanese VA track being omitted for the NA release (the limited space of DVDs will probably be the number one reason for its omission).

Voice cast sounds pretty good, so far. Is Oerba sporting an english accent? I'm assuming she's the one that's narrating at the beginning of the trailer (since she's done the same for the other trailers). The new kid/boy they showed in trailer is probably the the hooded fella, who's mother died in the assault lead by Snow, from the demo.

Would've been nice if they could have released a demo with the NA release of FF7ACC Blu-ray.

I don't think they re-animated the lips sync for the English dub, they probably just adjusted the dialog to match lips movement.
Yea, you're right. I checked out the Japanese version of the E3 trailer (which available on the Japanese PSN Store), and it looks like they just did a really good job of lip-syncing the dialogue. Most obvious with last line in the trailer from Snow.

In the english dub Snow says "Lightning", and for the japanese he says "Onee-san". I think that's what threw me off, and had me thinking that they re-animated the mouth movements for the dialogue. Cause if the japanese VA had said "Lightning", the lips would have worded it out as such "lai nin gu", with the "gu" part making it stand out (just think of FF7AC and everytime someone said Cloud's name, and you'll notice the mouth's shape for the "do" in kurado).

And I agree that they'll most likely omit the Japanese voice track from the PS3 version for the NA release, if they're unable to include it for the 360 version. Hence, why I'll probably import a copy if it ends up releasing around November (get to play, likely, 6 month's before NA version's release, if not longer).

I actually like the Leona Lewis song, not too bad, though didn't have the same impact as Sayuri Sugawara's. It seems rather lazy of SE to not try and create a new original song for the game, instead opting to go with a song off Lewis' new album.

The voice acting didn't bug me either, I actually thought Hope's VA was one of the better ones. And I was rather surprised to see that they resynced the lips to match the english dialogue, even for the pre-rendered cut scenes that's so unlike SE (eg. Advent Children, where they should have done it, especially when the NA releases were always some months after the Japanese one both DVD and Blu-ray).

So I just finish the game last night. I'm pretty happy with how the story turn out to be. It was a good adventure. And about the ending: (spoiler obviously)

Spoiler:
I was really surprise that the crystallization of Cocoon became the logo of the game and that you understand that it's Fang and Vanille transforming into Ragnarok in that logo. It's a really nice touch. I was kind of touched by the ending, it was a little sad in his way.

Still, Fang and Vanille being Ragnarok out of nowhere at the end was a little confusing. I which they would have explained more why those two and not any other pulse l'cie.
Spoiler:
I believe the reason for that was because their, Vanille and Fang's, original focus was to summon Ragnarok. I think it was revealed in a flashback with Vanille or something (I think it was what Fang was trying to remember, and what Vanille always knew it to be), it's been a while since I've played (imported it a while back) so I can't really remember where it was mentioned.

Yea, and it was great how the logo ended up being the crystalized Cocoon in the end. Always wondered what the two heads and beast face around the sphere meant. Could have easily spoiled the ending for someone if you mentioned the logo was involved in a big way.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?
