I'm pretty much into the SDF-1 Series and the DYRL - "Ai, Oboetemasu ka" movie. Macross Plus probably takes the cake though as it still has pretty top notch animation done almost entirely by the traditional hand drawn method, as well as the story line is engaging as the UN Spacy wants to see which of two companies can build the next Valkyrie. I've heard horror stories of "ROBOTECH" which is, from what I hear, the US rip-off of one of Japan's revered mecha animes. I have not seen it, and won't really bother to watch ROBOTECH any time soon.

Macross II and Zero aren't really that engaging, personally, however the CG done for Zero is fantastic.

I'm currently am building a few of the 1/72 HASEGAWA kits of their Macross line and their great! MACPLA!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Why would I be ashamed of 80's music? It's sure a hell lot better than the shit I hear on the radio these days. I listen to stuff 200+ years old.

And as for the MACROSS opening theme, It's a pretty entertaining OP theme, I like it!

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I want a Macross series that takes place quite some time after the main nemesis of the Zendraeti fleet is defeated, but just before the events of Macross Plus. I'd love to see the VF-11B in action.

As for Flash Back 2012, I doubt much would be of the VF-4 Lightning, but it'd make a very nice side story with a new cast.

Zero is a excellent, but different take to the macross universe.
The "new" VF-0s were awesome as well as the CG, but I really couldn't care for the characters, except Focker. They all seemed so stoic or relatively unconnected with each other. It's still worth to see this series regardless of being a Macross fan or not, similarly to Macross Plus. However I found Isamu more "connectible" than Shin, despite Zero's 5 part OVA compared to MP's 4episodes.

I guess the thread maker won't mind for me to post some of my 1/72 Hasegawa Valkyries?

I was speaking idiomatically.

It's a pain in the ass when you're not patient after putting the future wax on it then start doing panelling, only to find out that the paints are mixing. God damn.

Not worth my money at like what, $250 USD for that. I think this is why I stick with the kits. Plus the kits look nicer, albiet their smaller scale. 1/72 vs 1/48. Even the 1/48 VF-1 Strikes, I'm not interested in unless it's for like $20.00. Sorry, I just had a very bad experience with one of the Yamato ones.

Paints I buy locally of course. I stick with Tamiya mainly, and some Gunze. I use Testors occassionally for detail jobs or panelling.
I get my kits all around town and even the net, mainly HLJ.com.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

I'd rather have a R1 release of Do You Remember Love.

Speaking of which, I'm working on a Hasegawa kit of the VF-1S - Roy Focker -at the momet (see signature). Be sure to come by my journal often for updates.

For reference sake, you can check out my journal as I just posted a update on the Strike Valkyrie. Don't get all excited though, as it's just begun, so there's not much to show.

I started out with a cheap cheap Testors Aztek aircan airbrush and returned it promptly. I don't like using aircans as since they're about $20 a shot, this adds up over time. As well, I got a double action airbrush - Paasche VL, so you can control both the airflow and the amount of paint; the single action only allows you to control how much paint you want out, but the airflow is constant. This doesn't mean that single actions aren't good. I've seen very good kits done with only a single action. I also have an aircompressor. It's not blazingly loud, but annoying when the tank gets depleeted since the motor starts up again. I just bought some ear muffs and that problem is done and over with.

I suggest you get an airbrush locally, if possible, so incase if you've got questions and such, you can go back to the shop and consult. At one time after using it initially, I thought I broke it when I dismantled the trigger to clean the insides, but it was okay.

Another thing to put into consideration is the cleaning required for a single vs double action. While I've gotten use to cleaning the double action, it may seem a bit intimidating with like 9 differernt parts to clean and put back together to make it work optimally again, where as a single action only has maybe 4-5 parts to put back together. Now cleaning isn't so much a big deal since I can put back my double action without too much fuss, once you use one pretty frequently.

Also make sure what the return policies are. Again, it's your call!

From what I've read from Macrossworld.com forums:

As far as the audio goes, you can turn off the 5.1 English dub and watch it with the original 2.0 Japanese audio with English subtitles. True, the dub isn't the best, but it's okay. At least they kept the original Japanese songs instead of using those horrific Robotech tunes. The biggest complaint about the dub so far is the mispronounciation of some of the words, mainly when almost everyone says "Muh-cross" instead of "Mac-ross". I think Mari Iijima is the only person in the cast who pronounces everything correctly. Another difference is that the ADV discs come with some extras like interviews, commentaries, and such. The Animeigo set does have some hidden "Easter eggs," but I've never watched any of the extras on either set. But they're there if you're interested.
I asked this same question there too.

How ya doing, buddy?

Plus I like the box art for the Animeigo set. I'm not sure what the prices are though, and I think that there's 3 boxes in total.

Guys, looks like Wave is coming out with a 1/5000 scale transformable SDF-1 Macross. I personally don't want it though - I've had VERY bad experiences with toys with moveable parts as their main feature.

It's probably not worth it, dude. Even a big Macross fan myself, I think it looks more like a toy than anything else. And spending half of the cost of a Wii on that is out of the question for me. But of course I have my exceptions and do buy expensive collector toy items.

Sorry, I didn't read my above post to see what you were referencing to. Why would I take the gaming consoles instead of the toy? I'm pretty sure most people would know why. Yes, I'd put my money towards a gaming console, I can't see deriving the same satisfaction out of some static thing that will be collecting dust.

With all due respect Mr Satan, would you mind if I personally redid the opening post for you, and make it more "up-to-spiff" and attractive? I'll post it in the testing thread, and get a mod to merge my opening post with yours. Is this alright with you?
