I've made an entry about getting a DS for my sis' bday, and all along comes this DS Lite. ;_; Will it be in time for the birthday? July 17? As I'm pretty ignorant about most portable gaming devices. If not, I guess I'll get her the regular DS then. $150 CDN sound resonable for a DS?

EDIT
Quote:
The DS Lite is out June 11 in US (White only). It'll retail for 129.99 (no word on any reg DS price shifts)

WHEE!!!! $129 US ain't so bad. Now I want one!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

This is most excellent news. I'm getting excited over something that I'm going to give away as a gift. Damn, I got to find a way to coax her that she doesn't want it anymore.

[Spatula] Here you go, happy birthday!

[rugrat] OHH!! thankies!

1 week later.

[Spatula] Yeah so, this new DS (lite) of yours is pretty boring eh? So um, I'd feel kinda bad returning it to the store. How about we start sharing the DS?

***[rugrat] Yeah, I like watching the anime they show on TV. Sure, you can have it.

[Spatula] WIN!

***[rugrat] Nice try, now I'm not gonna get you your Final Fantasy game with my allowance!

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Now you see how birthdays are run in our family.

LOVE IS OVER.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

At any rate, I just got myself my sister the DS Lite. She (we) love it. It's fun and pretty user friendly even for a small 9 year old like her. Nintendogs is LOL, although I wish there was like a butcher knife option.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Wiin! (sorry). I got mine at BestBuy (Yeah, Megalith was looking at more BIG SCREEN TVS and SUPER SOUND SYSTEMS). I really wonder about the warranty thingamajig I paid like $29 CDN for or something like that. From what I asked the dude (and I made this very clear so he doesn't like skimp over it) is that CAN I REPLACE the damn thing with another DSlite if something fucks up. He says yes, and its good for 2 years.

So was the Bestbuy thing a good thing or bad thing? I thought well...since it's somewhat new technology based off of the old DS basically, and me not ever have owned a portable gaming system, sure why not.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Back to Britain you go!

You got dots already? So just one day it just suddenly appeared? Hundreds of them like ice cream cones? So far no problems with "my" no wait, sorry, our 5 hour old DS lite. It's like a baby. A baby you want to choke. Oh wait.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

[quote]Fucking extortion. The guy confirmed that I would be spending 80+ dollars on warranties if 4 systems in a row had dead pixels and I wanted to trade them back.

I'm going back later in the week to speak to a manager and get at least 20 bucks back./quote]

Indeed, if I ever heard of "LOL we have excellent return policy LOL". Since this is my sisters though, I might not be so inclinded and say suck it up, but then I'd feel kinda sad when I want to play it. No dead thingies yet.

Quote:
"it's only 1 pixel, it's not covered under our return policy."
WTF is this. If it's not satisfactory, it's not satisfactory, :slaps clerk in the face with DS LOL:

As stupid as this question is, and my ignorance with the DS Lite, does the DS itself have an internal memory card inside that as you save your game progress, it is stored in the DS lite's memory itself, or is the save data on the GBA/DS game cartridge itself (ala NES/SNES cartridges and how the data is in the cartridge, not the console)? If the data is in the card, that's good news as I'm using my sister's DS lite at the moment, and don't want to have to restart all over when I get my own DS.

If the latter is true (data on the DS itself, not the cartridge), then is there a way to send information from one DS to another?

Thanks for your curtious replies.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
