For me, I find the word "bling" or "bling-bling" tends to have a funny ring to it. It's certainly not annoying to my ears, but I rarely-to-never say that. If someone witnessed me saying that, it'd just be quite awkward, for one thing.

I find the word "hip", as an adjective, just repulsive. It's not offensive, but it certainly makes me cringe.
