Well, now it looks like I'm a HIGH GUARDIAN. Just took down the Antlion, which really is barely anything if you look at the scale of difficulty. I'm not sure why, but I guess the book made this puny level V mark seem formidable. Whatever. I just strutted in there like a cowboy, and went BOOM BOOM BOOM with my shotgun (aka Aero gambit). Now off to see Belito!

How ya doing, buddy?

I just took care of that feathered bitch hunt Belito. Stupid bird never saw it coming. At this rate, I think I'm ready for the Nechrol of Nebrudis (lol probably not) or try my hand at the deadsands, I think. Where is that again, somewhere off the Salikawood?

Notice how I butcher up every spelling of the games locales? I really should start to get the guidebook beside me, rather than it sitting on the lazyboy 6 feet from my right. I'm not sure that I can take on level VII marks yet. I've taken out the Overlord, or something like that, which was a level VI rank. It wasn't sweating bullets hard, but it did provide an interesting challenge. I somehow really don't feel inclined on doing this fishing game. Is this like a "DDR" press-the-bhutans-to-get-a-prize-type mini-game.

God damn, I don't even know if I'll be able to fill the beastiary, I'm about 50% full. I think now that I've taken down all the regular hunts, and mainly level VI and VII hunts remain. I'm thinking of taking down that fat chlululuwhatever esper. How's he like? Actually before that, I want to continue my Medal quest.

Can I say that Carrot was bloody easy? He barely did anything. Oooh stop and a few pansy status effects, I'm scared of that. Yeah, wrapped up that level VII mark pretty easily. I'm in the Nabreus Deadlands now, pretty easy place so far. The troll guys are doing maybe 300-500 damage to my guys which have about 6000-7000 with bubble accesory, while I deal about 1500-2000 per hit. The skeletons do even less damage. So I'm planning on taking down 4 marks today, 1 already down - Carrot. The rest are the two golems and then the Deathscythe.

WOOOOOOOOOOOP WOOOOOOOOOOP, Son just confirmed Final Fantasy 13 will also be avaiable on ps2; ''Final Fantasy to us is not just a game, it's a way of life. So for this reason we will release it to the Playstation Two aswell, the console that brought it to life.' Hironobu Sakaguchi.

That would be more appropriate for this thread. Also, why bother playing it on the PS2. It's like playing Rainbow Six Vegas on PS2.

Can someone tell me what I should do with the red crystal bug in the Deadlands. I don't have invert.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Because you would rather spend $40 than $640 on it?
Not that I wouldn't have already considered the userbase without a Playstation 3.

I like how I fought the Goliath, and basically got wasted. I got Fran to high tail it out of there. Why is Necrohol of Nabudis hard. I'm about half way done the Medallion quest.

Metal Sphere, that crystal bug constantly casts restore on itself, giving it back up to maximum HP - that's what is making it hard.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

You got wasted... by the Goliath? That thing is easy, it's just a little heavy on the magic stuff. Try the reflect trick on it. As for the Necrohol being harder, there's 2 reasons for that:

- There's a Rank 3 Esper and 2 bosses in the area
Oh, and the Baknamy are equipped with Demonsbanes and Demon Shields, and they seem to have the same effects on them as they do on you when you equip them.

Use the Nihopalaoa trick on it, cripple it as much as you can, and go to town. Hit it with Expose until it starts missing. It'll probably be immune to Disable, but give that a shot too. If all else fails and you can't overwhelm it, leave and go level over in Overlooking Eternity. Make sure save back in the first area every so often.

Also, if you have Reflectga + Aga spells and Opal rings, hit it with the Reflect trick too. Getting hit 3-9 times by magic is enough to slaughter most enemies. This is all assuming you don't have Reverse, since you can just cast that before he uses Restore.
Not so much as a game over, that would be dreadfully embarrassing. So basically you're suggesting that I level up to take on the crystal bug? I'm at about level 50 for my main group now. I just got the aeroga spells, and have had the aga-level spells for elements for a while now. Also, as this is a stupid question, what are examples of earth magick spells.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

What. There is no Waterga and Earth spells despite my Libra stating WEAK TO EARTH ELEMENTS, PLEASE INSERT COIN TO OPERATE EARTHQUAKE. What the fuck is that. Sorry but that's an instant fail for magick in this game. What is the Nihopalaoa (lol is this Hawaiian). Maybe I'm just not used to this challenge which is why I'm freaking out. I don't like the FOOBARS either - more like FUBARS - amirite.

Anyways, going to watch some anime like a sweaty otaku and then maybe come back to FFXII later tonight, or even past midnight.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Makes me yearn for a FFXII sprite-version or something.
I trust that, with your overabundant knowledge of the world of Ivalice and that specifically pertaining to the twelfth installment of Final Fantasy, there is a Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings for the DS, which from what I see so far from the screen shots, features sprite like characters.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Well I think I did my fair share of FFXII work today.

1) Took care of that stupid crystal bug - actually it was easy this time

2) Took care of our golem friend Rob - his boney friends were very demanding, and those took some time to take care off. Be careful where you tread.

3) Took care of our other golem friend Goliath. He was, again, easy this time around. Shell works wonders. I like how I totally neglected that spell and really only focused on protect - regen - haste - libra - other good stuff. Yeah setting up Shell in my gambits was kinda nice. Stupid piece of clay never saw it coming.

4) Attained the rank of "Knights of the Round".

And that's that.

what happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DUDEEEEE!
*EDIT* Pleae excus the misspellings and punctuation errors.
Someone set up Jimmy Choo the bomb. Is this even a joke.

At any rate, I'm quite fearful of the "hog guys" in the "Necherol" of Nabudis. They're weak to ice damage, which I'm trying to capitalize as much on my blizzaga spells, since it seems to do decent damage (around 2000) to them. However, they are MUCH stronger (11,000 HP) than their Deadlands cousins with only like half that amount. I need to know if there are any save crystals in the Necherol area, as it'd be a pain to keep tracking back to where I fought that red crystal bug in the deadlands.

How is the deathscythe hunt (level VI) in the vacinity? I've already taken down three rank VI hunts so I probably know what I'm up against.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Death is probably one of the least worried spells I have in this game now, surprisingly. I remember how in the previous FFs where casting/using a pheonix down was such a pain, and it was a pretty serious case if one of your guys went down. Gambit Phoenix Downs, why are you so awesome.

This cameo belt you speak of sounds interesting, considering my melee guys are only yielding 70% parries and misses, while only 30% hit rate, which makes things bad - therefore relying on blizzaga. Where is this item.

P.S. Yes, it is a joke.

Um. What.

Yo Spatual, whats your problem :| I dont find that funny :| I was only askin for advice, thats what this forums for! Set your self up. Just cos im from Britain dont meaaaan i dont know how 2 play a game :| OK. I dont comment on whatever questions you may have to ask becayse i respect the fact that this is a forum yeah not some playground. SO groooooooooow up
Which you still did not answer my question, but forget it. And where did I state that you didn't know how to play FFXII. Stop putting words in my mouth. Thanks.

Moving along, I'm going to need to start saving some major gil, however, at the same time I'm afraid of selling off certain "precious" loot which may be required for the ultimate weapons. I'm sure I can find these required items in the guidebook (or even in the game itself for that matter), so I'll have to sit down and research it up a bit before cashing in. I'll continue my venture into the Necrohol of Nabudis tonight, and with the absence of any save points, vigilance will be my friend (almost as if the Roblon hunt, where, due to my chronic saving tendencies, somewhat freaked out as I almost forgot to get the Medallion from the rodent guy - forcing me to back track from the base of the hidden mountain up to the top. Man did I run like hell from the bones - they aren't hard, but I had a considerable accomplishment - that is beating Roblon - on the line.)

Necrohol of Nabudis, what.

I'm starting to "like" this place now, meaning that I'm a bit more accustomed to it, but as a dungeon as a whole, I do prefer other dungeons as they don't seem so depressing ;__;. At any rate, I got the "Save The Queen" double handed sword and equipped it on Balthier. He looks super cool with it, and I love the sound it makes when I preps it for slicing action. DRAW STEEL BOYS. It does 100 damage, which is by far my best weapon I have so far.

I managed to take down the Fury and the Humbaba Mistant, the latter being extremely easy. Mistant thinks he's tough rough stuff, but really he's a wimp. I just casted dispel and sap on him, and with the newly acquired DH sword, easily dealt 2500-3000 damage per hit. He was down in probably not more than 6 minutes or so. 300,000 HP, what? The fury on the other hand I was somewhat worried about. It wasn't the chronic casting of berserk, but it was the casting of stop on my party, while I only had about 9 chronos tears in stock, and each time at least 1 or 2 of my party members would get affected by this. I was actually quite happy as it casted berserk on myself, as I got Fran to gambit FOE=Berserk --> Dispel, and each time it casted berserk, it basically stalled with the casting animation and got my guys to do a free 3 hit attack on it, since it basically just sits there for 2 to 3 seconds while drinking wine. LOL.

The only really enemy I hated was the Overlord, I think, which could sap your entire stock of MP from your bar. However, this doesn’t put me in as much of a dire position as I initially though. Just charge your guys up to about 60 to 70 MP, and that’s more than enough to survive the battle at hand. Select the party member with the lowest MP as the leader, as I find s/he will be attacked the most. As long as you have your MP augmentations from the license, you’ll be back up to half your MP bar in no time, everything from taking damage, dealing damage with MP, walking, and all that. I was amazed how quickly your MP can work for you if you actually USE it when it’s low.

Anyways, next up I feel like taking out the fatty esper in the waterways, as I hear that dudes easier than the Chaos guy.

If any of you find the camera angels quite weird when venturing around the Nechorol? I think the corridors were not exactly level, but kept ramping up or down and made my turning of cameras funny.

Also, I call THE FEAR, ben, because I sure can't read Cyrillic. BEN.

I found the Deadlands rather boring, actually. The foilage and natural surroundings just seemed weird meshed with an all grey environment. So in other words I found the Necrohol more creepy than the Deadlands.

As for levels, Balthier, Fran, and Basch are about level 53-54, while the rest of the gang are at about 44 with Vaan being the lowest at 40. I'm at the 95 hour mark in the game. Where do I get ribbons? Those look very nice. NU HUH U CAN'T CAST POISON ON ME NO NO!

Metal Sphere, I hear you are the TV guru.

YOU GUYS WANNA TALK ABOUT FUCKING END OF THE ROPE?!?!?!

WELL I HAVE A STORY FOR YOU!

Just beat Chaos like 2 minutes ago, and let me tell you, NEVER and I mean NEVER has a battle gone down to one single man, and you know who that is? My most disliked member, Vaan. Sorry for shouting, but god damn, here's what happened...

I thought I was like, bleh Chlulu esper was piece of cake right? So Choas should be no problem, since I like using magick spells a lot.

So for 1/2 the battle it was pretty damn easy, just keep spamming him with bio, this worked until he started using his uber attack, that basically confused your whole party. I started with 50 phoenix downs, and at the battle one VERY last bottle remained. I kept switching in people to revive the KOd guys, and I was BURNING phoenix downs like you would't believe. This Chaos guy got pissed off and started twacking my guys back to KO. One second they're standing, the next they're KOED! It came down to his health at about 10%, then he took down Fran, then when I revived her, Basch was down, and when he was down, Fran also got hit, it kept going like this until ALL 5 of my guys were KOed. I was like oh fucking shit.

Mind as well turn off the console at this point and go to bed, cause 1 guy vs this thing is NOT gonna work. I said to hell with it, and worked it off to the end. I honestly thought this would be my very first game over screen.

So I said, Vaan, I don't like you and you don't like me, but let's just get this damn show on the road okay, you faggot? He was like yeah oh okay cool. I have 1 phoenix down left, so I somehow revived Vaan, and he stepped in, it's MIST QUICKENING TIME.

I really wasn't expecting much, but I just kepting on CHAINING with Vaan going solo! First was his 3 bar hit, another 3 bar hit, then his 2nd bar quickening, then a mist charge, followed by another mist charge, then I got the crappy 1 bar quickenings, I think I did like 2 of them, but all in all it was 7 hits chained. I was like, yeah I'm gonna shit my pants if this works.

And yes, concluded with an Inferno. Fucking Choas got owned like hell.

Fuck, Vaan, you're are 1000% cool now. Welcome to the team.

Shit, my fingers are still trembling

Yeah, I was willing to get whatever quickenings I could get, not caring so much of how powerful they are, because the main thing I wanted to finish off with was with a concurrence of basically any type, and for that case, even the humble inferno was able to take it out. I'm seriously thinking of granting Vaan this Chaos esper, since well, he was like the rookie that basically brought the trophy home. I just finished up replenishing my stock of Phoenix Downs (90 or so) and Remedies, as well as those Chronos Tears, mind as well. Originally, I was supposed to go hunt the Deathsycthe, but since Chaos was closer, I was like ah what the hell, let's do it. Let's just say I got quite the challenge, and a bit more, than I bargained for.

Also, that fatty chulu esper was a joke, 2nd easiest behind Zelera. He really didn't do much, besides invert, which was death, which was easy to patch up with a phoenix down.

Why did he smile when he "died". Okay that was sort of creepy.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

It wasn't aeroja that hurt me, that only had a success rate of 50% of killing my guys, it was his spinng slap attack that koed me from 2000 hp to ZERO!

LOOOL Han Solo

does anyone else see a connection between starwars and xii? han solo= balthier that walking carpet=the pretty bunny lady! (i know thier names...)
And not to mention the Millennium Falcon and the Strahl, as well as the gun trotting Han Solo with his blaster, while Balthier and his default sidearm. Also note Han Solo's departure from service of the Imperial Navy, along with Balthier's
quite a big spoiler mid way through the game about his past:
role as an Arcadian Judge to just to name a few.

Cuchulainn just used a lot of immobilizga as well as invert, which really weren't that crippling. The first half of the battle was getting rid of the FOOBARS (god I love that name), while the second was just wailing on him.

Why is Chaos such a cheater. OH NO NO you can't use physical attacks, but watch him dish out with his "multi face slapper" as I called it. What a hypocrite. And Metal Sphere, yeah the first time he used a quickening, ALL my guys were confused and I was going - OH SHIT. I then equipped Fran with the anti confuse ward, while the others with bubble belts, so they can survive his onslaught of high hitting spells and such.

I like how basically everyone at Clan Centurio is like praising me now. I remember that hume that said “loool buddy u don’t know what end of a sword goes into an enemy”. Right there and then, I would have SO taken out a bastard sword and lopped his head off so fast. Or even better yet, tell him to join me on the Yiazmat hunt and then show me his skills. Such an arrogant slob.

A few questions.

1st question.

So how do you thnk of Zeromus and the other espers before Chaos, are they easier?

2nd question.

I'll need to get lots of X potions for the non-magical fight with Zeromus or whoever else it is. Where should I get X potions from, and how much?

3rd question.

Speaking of hunts, I’m going to wrap up the deathsycthe hunt, but that’s not too bad, I’m even thinking of going after our 10000 armed friend Gilgamesh. Any tips from him? I hear there are several stages. Should I just use steal or pouch or mug or what have you? When should I use these? Is my current level sufficient to take him on? We’re looking at mid 50’s levels for my three main guys.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
