I checked up with EB Games today, looks like they (at least in Canada) have bumped the price up by $10 to it's regular price of $59.99 CDN for the regular and $69.99 for the CE. I'm glad I got it when it was released. Looks like it was a 3 day special price. The same with Best Buy as well.

I was speaking idiomatically.

SOLDIER, you're not the only one going at their own pace. Several dungeons I'm redoing just to appreciate it more than have as a fleeting experience. This is partial to party grinding, but also to embrace each stage a little more, hopefully with nice scenery around to accompany that.

I got the Grimoire forgotten book, and at first I thought I just wasted 18,000 hard earned gil for nothing, but this is what I found out - it decreases the amount of battle chaining you have to do to get the good stuff. I compared this with my Skeleton run vs my "Sandman" run in the Sandsea area. For me to get to level 3 battle chain, it took about a 50 continuous enemy kills to get the gold awards, however, with the Grimoire book, this is reduced to you only needing to get 30. So the first level is when you kill 10 of the same type of enemy in a row - you get the silver colored loot, the second is when you kill 20 of the same enemy in a row, you get the small gold loot, and the third set is for 30 enemies - you get the BIG gold loot, which can have positive effects, such as heal your party for anywhere from 5 to 150 HP, as well as cast protect and shell on your party. I can't wait to see what the other good stuff look like!

I think I can probably try it out with the Urutan-Yensa in the sandsea.
That's basically one of the best spots right now for a good EXP run. Those guys are MUCH easier than the skeletons, and they are funnier too, not like the creepy undead. They give about 83 EXP and 1 LP each. You can find tons of them, so there's never the issue of running out. Just camp around the save stone and work your way around the platforms. That's what I've been doing for the last few hours.

Everyone in my team now has the +500 HP thanks to them being so easy. I'm thinking of sticking around here until I clean up all the main augmentatios I want for my team until I move onto the next stage. You can easily get 100+ chain with these guys, it's not even funny. Just don't touch the save stone and don't go to those platforms with the Aldurians (small tomato like things) and you should be fine.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

If you're referring to the big gold loot once you get to the level 3 battle chain, then there's a chance that the heal and protect will automatically be casted on your party, which is nice. All you have to do is keep killing and collecting the loot until you get to the big gold loots.

So how awesome is this Zodiak spear? I'd check it up but I'm at school now, so therefore I don't have the guide book. Spoiler tags where necessary, thank you!

I know, what what the hell is that. Maybe if you could talk to one of the NPCs around Lowtown in a scripted scene, where he says "Oh I hear there's a way to get this awesome weapon, but you must not be so greedy with your treasure chests", would probably not help me that much, but gives me a *something* to work off of (lol never opening any chests). Or perhaps some mini puzzle you must read various scripts that are scattered, and then reveal the location of the chests. Whatever.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Just to clarify, are you saying that people should already know which to not open, or that it's basically next to impossible to know not to open up such treasures? Just checking.

+150 is quite a bit, I'm guessing it can dish out like 5000+ dmg plus per hit on regular enemies?

I'm 31 hours and just saved at the first crystal before the Tomb of Raithwall.

Boss before that:
Do any of you think that the Garuda boss was bloody easy as hell? I mean, he didn't even put up a fight. A group of 10 sandpeople do more damage than that flying piece of fuck! I just kept zapping him with lightning and watched the beast bite the dust before I could say "DEMON WALL". Speaking of which, the demon wall(s) look scary ;__;

Yes, you get that item from the following event.

Spoiler:
You have to speak with the moogle by the blue save crystal in Nam Yensa and he'll say a giant tortouse is attacking the sandpeople (still haven't even bothered learning their proper names), and kill it. Then you have to run back to the moogle and then run to the Refinery just across your current dungeon, then run back to the moogle. The sandperson was treated as a scumbag for having to beg for help, and was basically BURNED WITH FIRE, and what's left was the flower. You pick up the flower and toss it at the Garuda later on, LOL. TAKE MA FLOWER POWER.

I find myself staring more at the radar screen and navigating using that, since the physical aspect of the dungeon itself can at times be misleading. I think the closest game I've played with somewhat similiar gameplay would probably be Dungeon Siege, but I can't remember how the AI was done for the other 7 party members in your team.

I also agree with the dungeons in a way lacking that "adventure" mode sometimes, but rather makes you go "select button", figure out where the hell I am, then keep moving on to the exit or unexplored areas, whereas your earlier RPGs didn't focus so much on where you were going as opposed to what you were doing in the respective environment.

These youtube links basically contain spoilers, but it's amazing with the 2nd boss of the 2 demon walls, I think. The 2nd clip has the player only using Vaan to take on the boss all by himself, while the Guest character is KOed.

1st boss (nice stats and equipment, from what I can see): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZkE1jB_1Rg

2nd boss (solo fight): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFxvjjfml98

Yeah, with the quickenings, I guess it's just how fast you can mash on the R2 with your index finger, while using the thumb to cover the triangle and circle button, while your left hand thumb to mash the X and square buttons.

That's the technique I use so far to try to get it ;__;, and have chained up 7 times.

Alright!
I made it out of the Tomb of Raithwall.

Spoiler:
That was actually a pretty easy dungeon, and Belinas didn't put up much of a fight. Vossler, however, I feel sorry for him after that. The FMVs that followed that were amazing. RIP Leviathan, Vossler, and Ghis. That was an awesome looking flagship, and I like it more than the Shiva, aesthetically speaking.

As stupid as it sounds, how did Ashe get the Dawn Shard back. So the ghost of Rasler just happens to have it materialize and gives it back to her? Not too sure what happened there, yes, I'm slow ;__;

Sorry for misreading. Yes sometimes there's a half second delay or something, or the buttons don't seem to respond correctly, as you have mentioned. As for solving it, I'm not too sure, unfortunately.

Simo, I just got to that part where you were experiencing technical difficulties and my disc seemed to work fine, which I'm glad it did ^__^.

I'm trying to beat that optional wall boss in the beginning of the tomb, but I can't seem to finish it off. =(
Similiarly, I fought the 2nd one (which succumbed instantly to my 5 chain quickening + Inferno), but the 1st one is much more tougher. My quicks did only like 1/4 damage to it, and I got the HP down to about half, but then ran for it, since I knew I couldn't finish in time =/.

Ah what the hell!
Nidhogg Hunt:

I just defeated the "Marauder in the Mines" where you fight the Nidhogg, but he's supposed to drop a Great Serpentskin when you kill him. But when I easy took care of him, he didn't drop it! I need this item to complete the Patient in the Desert side quest. Have any of you had this event happen before?

HAHAHAHAHAH I JUST GOT THAT TOO!

I was like WHAT THE FUCK. Then I thought I should maybe just head back to the guy.

Also, see the guidebook because it's says "The hunt DROPS the loot that you need". Seriously who ever wrote this book didn't get the facts right. I was panicking because I thought I killed it and didn't get the dropped loot.

I just downed my 7th mark, and want to go for another one to raise my rank. I did quite a few side quests, which I find once you get the Dawn Shard, quite a bit of side quests and hunts are opened up for you, so that's what I've been spending my last 3 hours doing. :3

Also, fighting the Rocktoise hunt, I first used my quickenings, but then when that sorta ran out, I wanted to test my new ULTIMATE WEAPON*

Spoiler:
*Well not really all that ULTIMATE, and weakest of them, Belinas, I wanted to see this guy ROAR, and ROARED and RAMPAGED he did, dealing around 1000 dmg to the stupid turtle, and basically ended it with Hell Fire. ROOOOOOOAARR

You might want to spoil that individual mentioned in your 2nd paragraph, especially since said individual is in your party prior to. Keep Fran in the fray, since she has berserk, and summon your new found friend while you're at it. Also, I'm Larsa and I'd hit Penelo. LOL.

I did the same, since Ashe had pretty kickin' stats, with quite a few augmentations. I can't start boasting that this boss and that dude was easy, considering I've only just recently got the Dawn Shard, and I'm over 35 hours into the game. Which means that much of the rest of the time was either spent level grinding (quite a bit) or hunts or recent side quests. So I can understand that you're having trouble with him (he almost KO'ed my Basch, which had over 1600 HP down to less than 100 with his "alligator-sword chomps"). Try casting slow on him and see if that works.

You work on Saturdays? Damn son.

I found the area in Estersand where you have to take the ferry quite the jump in difficulty, with the enemies - mainly level 25 wolves, dealing close to 300 dmg to my guys, and tehre's two Wild Saurians (T Rex) that like to chomp me down. The only reason I ventured up north is to get the three medicine thingies for the side quest. But I think that place isn't too too hard, just as long as the wolves don't gang up. I get about 350 exp points.

How hard are the marks when they jump up a level? I think I've cleared most or all of the available level 1 marks, so how high a jump is the level 2 marks in terms of difficultly?

I was speaking idiomatically.
