Well, it now looks like it my local EB has left me a voice mail, saying it will be available Tuesday morning, rather than Wednesday November 1st, which is nice. Unfortunately I won't be able to get it until the afternoon, damn it.

Also, Canada sucks for snowing and making the roads fucktacular to drive. Go Canada, we love your weather.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Also, I like how the guy on my voice mail was all like:

"Oh since this is a pretty popular game, and you're first in line with your preorder, I think there's going to be line ups for this game. So if you want to come down early and wait in line, that's pretty cool too".

COLONEL SKILLS LESBIANS betta watch out!

Actually, unfortunately I can't change my vacation time to move it one day up from November 1st to the 31st. So I'm still going to have to pick it up during the afternoon. But at the same token, I won't have to fight rush hour traffic going to the mall. I initially chose November 1st off since this was back when the store clerks said it would be released on the 1st of November, not the 31st of October, a few months back, therefore my choosing of taking November 1st off with vacation time from work (and skipping night class LOL).

Slayer X. I'm Western Canadian. LOL. Go Flames Go? Nah, I'm a traitor.

LOL Artbook, even I'm thinking of buying the best buy promotion for the regular game, get the artbook and return the unopened game a few days later. That's pretty sad, just for a 32 page book. Is this freebie even that great to warrant such a sly action.

I'm surprised some retailers (namely Circuit City, which we don't have in Canada) are selling them already at "dirt cheap" when it's a "A-tier" title especially on release, but it's probably that lowering the price won't even effect their revenue that greatly, considering the amount of copies they're planning on selling, which would more than off set the reduction in price. Even it's not all that common (although it does happen for the smaller publishers or not so hyped up games: Okami for example) in Canada to see something selling at $49.99 CDN brand new. Usually games are about $59.99 CDN for games brand new for the PS2.

Actually, thinking about it, I've seen more and more $49.99 starting prices, including a 5 day special price for Valkyrie Profile 2, as well as Okami for $39.99 for a 2 day opening special.

How ya doing, buddy?

That reminds me, I don't even know if my EB has the LE guide in stock for tomorrow. I know 100% for the LE game, but the guide, meh.... it'd be nice to get them right at the same time, plus enough of them for me to choose which cover I want. I doubt that though ;__;.

It might be a new screencap of Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings for the DS. The characters sure do look like it, all chibi-ised.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

DUDE! I got it ^___^, it was a hell of a drive in the given weather conditions, but I'm happy now. Basically this is a copy pasta from my journal.

So here we have our EB Games where I have preordered my copy of Final Fantasy X-2, wait, I mean.

CLICK ME! This is just hiding lots of images to not drag the thread!:

The line up wasn’t as bad as I expected, which was pretty good for the mall at five o’clock in the afternoon. I’m glad I didn’t wait in line during the opening store hours, so choosing to go to work instead of taking this day off paid off quite nicely. There were only maybe 10 people in line, and of course , the lady right in front of me has to take 15 minutes to decided whether to go with the Xbox Core or Platinum, while I’m just squishing my preorder receipt in my hands, getting it all sweaty.

Unfortunately, they only had the regular walkthrough guide, despite me pre-ordering the limited edition guide as well, so they say it will come Friday.

After that, I decided to swing down to the local Best Buy and grab the freebie Art Book that came with the regular edition of the game. Yes, I did buy both the regular and Collectors Edition , but I plan to return the regular version of the game back to Best Buy. LOL, all that just for some measly art book. Oh well.

Without further adieu, here are the goods:

From left to right:
Limited Edition Original Sound Track
Brady - Final Fantasy XII Freebie Art Book from Best Buy
Final Fantasy XII – Regular Edition
Final Fantasy XII – Collectors Edition

Here’s the freebie art book.

I think they're willing to take the "hit" with the lowered price, since the demand would be pretty high and every place and their dog is selling it, so why not draw more people to them with shark pricing.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Holy shit, I haven't even played the game, I just spent the last 1 1/2 hours watching the bonus disc. Really, I enjoyed it more than I expected, since I normally care less about bonus features, but this really made me want to get into it more.

I just played for 2 hours and just still running around in Rabanastre. What a huge place this is. I love how walking around just bring back memories and ques to my mind. For example walking around the vendor, peddler, and food stalls just reminded me of that scene in Aladdin going through the merchants and seeing what was new in town.

Also, somehow when I lined up to get back into the city, it really felt like the guards wanted you to follow their orders. Stay in line or GTFO. Some of the Imperials are mean (obviously, LOL Stormtooper wannabees) while others feel somewhat pitiful for the citizens. When the guard was checking through the line, somehow this reminded me of Barney opening up the gate to Black Mesa in Half Life 1. In other words, it added that extra depth of realism to how it's like to live in Rabanastre with guards patrolling.

So far, it's the little things that make this game enjoyable. I'm off to check out the Tomato head dude that I gotta make "dinner" out of.

Also, BEST. VOICE. ACTING. SO FAR. Even Migelo's voice, quite pig sounding, still sounds authentic and reminds me of Watto from The Phantom Menace. See, these voices do sound alien, yet almost realistic at the same time; it's not overdone.

Major props to the voice acting in this game, seriously.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Alright, I'm in Giza plains looking for some dude named, well, I can't remember, but something about this that has captivated me, is that this actually feels like an adventure and I'm doing some exploring. There is a essence of danger, as I'm always keeping an eye on my radar and hope some unforeseen monsters sneak up on me.

Also, is any one else keeping track of how many steps they've taken? (bottom bar when you go to camp mode), I'm at 12000 steps and about 3 hours into the game.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

DAMN I LOVE THIS GAME SO FAR! I about to sneak into the Palace, and just preparing whatever technicks and magicks so far. I have cure and fire - both the spell and the licences, and I've done 2 hunts so far.

I'm just sad that I couldn't get the LE guide as of yet.

Simo, I'll probably return the edition, but I have until January 11, 2007, since I said was an X mas gift for my friend, so I have time to decide if I really want to return it, or keep it as another "memento", sealed up forever. LOL.

This is possibly one of the best user-friendly games I've played in a while. I stopped my gaming just to come to GFF to post my thoughts before I forget.

When you're just starting the Palace of Rabanastre,
not really a spoil, but it's about the saving system:
It tells you with a no bullshit - straight faced manner that this level isn't exactly easy and you might not making it out alive in one piece the first try, so they immediatel suggest you create a new save file, just in case. So you are still under powered, you can go back to the old save file before entering the Palace and power/level up then.

Major props to SquareEnix for letting players heed that. Sure it might seem a bit juvenile, but I can tell that they wanted to make the player feel adventerous, not frustrated.

Yeah I'm more accustomed to moving the stick left, therefore moving the screen left, but this is reversed. I'm used to it now.

I think the difficulty has spiked right up after I bought the 2nd "boss", those 4 flam thingies.

Can someone tell me why Balthier is basically what Han Solo is to Star Wars? The coolest character. EVER.

Target: Friend
Action: Fire.

kekekeke, I just do this for the hell of it, and to see who bites the dust first and last.

Also, my bonus DVD with the Music Composition part isn't working, who else Majario is experiencing this?

Yeah, that was my concern as well, for example keeping Balthier as a gun user or Vaan as a melee, but with all the changing around, that's quite nice. Maybe they'll ALL be long range specialists. Heh, but of course there's draw backs to that, I'd imagine.

I'm 9 hours into the game and have about 42,000 foot steps ^___^.
Yes, I think someone said that this was reminiscent of Vagrant Story, in the style where the enemies are on the same screen, but I find the action much more smoother this time around. It's interesting that I find much of the "story" building thus far is based on the current situation that Vaan, Baltheir, Fran, and most recently Basch are finding themselves it, not so much the political backdrop as of yet. I'm at the stage where you're in the Barnheim Tunnels and have to keep the power alive.

I think the only main thing I wish this game had, was MORE SAVE POINTS. This game is meant to be played when you've got hours of time to play around, so just hope you don't have to put the controller down and attend thing "real life things (LOL)" too often, since sometimes I even backtrack right to the beginning to save my progress.

I think this is one of the major differences between this game and VP2. With VP2, whereever there's a save point, there's a boss battle right after.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Simo, yeah it gets pretty good after that. You'll get a familiar face pretty soon, where you are at. I loved how the Judge walks into the room and let's his presence known.

LOL, the character designer said he came up with the Judges armor by the Motorbike equipment seen in bike/BMX competitions. I wouldn't have known ^__^.

Also, is it just me or are there A LOT of handsome men (Vaan excluded) in this game? Even the side characters like Vayne and even the Judge Gabranth himself seem to be very nice and "manly". I sound so gay.

Yes, Fete, as in birthday - bon fete, you can correct me if I'm wrong, LOL Canadian French.

I'm up to the second boss now.

Spoiler:
LOL Mimic Queen. I've set all my guess to protect once, then will just go beserk with casting blizzard. I won't probably even care about the small fries. Is this a good strategy?

BA-HA-MOOT? I never thought it'd be pronounced like that in the history of FF featurette. I always just said "Ba-ha-mut".
Also, I learned from Valkyrie Profile, that Ifrit is pronounced "Ee-freet" (Eee= long E sound), not "Eye-fret". This is when Jalenda casts the "Irfit Caress" PWS. But that's another game for another time.

you miss the "accent" like "fête", In french there's word that are "feminine" and "masculine". fête is a feminine word so you have to say "Bonne Fête" which "bon" and "bonne" is the "same" word but one is masculine and the other feminine. That's why for english people it may be hard to learn french because there's a lot of rule which doesn't apply in english.
Which is why I didn't bother learning anymore French.

Seifer? I always said it as "Sai-fer", from the beginning, no problems there.
Also, Zidane was probably the most mis-pronounced character, and I learned the correct pronounciation from none other than headbutting supa star Zinedine Zidane.
