I don't really get the point of anonymous updating. When an anonymous person updates a CD at GMR, you can verify that the CD exists, you can look up info on it, buy it, etc.
In a game rips database, anybody can add info to their game rip they just made 5min ago, which in the worst case is untagged mp3s taken from a game's folder. Furthermore, who needs info on a game rip of let's say Superbike 2001 when there's absolutely no place to get it. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |
Yes, cubed's site was very organized. As far as I remember, it also required registration - and mostly the "renowned" game rippers updated it with their work.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how an anonymous, open database will work out. Unfortunately, there will always be two sorts of game rips: Named/tagged ones which are made up like an album release (and occasionally devided into discs) and music folders taken from a game cd. I'm curious to see a solution for the latter. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
