Open an album list of all your vgm in foobar and filter all tracks containing *sad* or *tears* and so on.
It's interesting to see how different composers try to evoke feelings of sadness within their music. And just about every game has some sad music, if only the Game Over theme. I don't play a lot of games so I must admit there's only a handful tracks that leave me a feeling of sadness without knowing the context. A game I always found to have particularly depressing music is Genmukan, the OP Theme fulfills most of the criteria, but I couldn't imagine it playing at the death scene of a character in an RPG or that stuff, so I guess Uematsu still takes the crown. Also, Kajiura's tracks for Xenosaga 3 are real tearjerkers, like that one ![]() edit: eh I just found this >_< Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
