5. I essentially left my bag unattended at the Barcelona Airport. I was seriously jetlaged, and just about ready to fall over. When i saw my check baggage come through the baggage claim, i ran over to pick it up, leaving my backpack on the ground. Later that night when i was looking for my CD booklet it was nowhere to be found. I was just glad my wallet (complete with passport) didn't go instead.
4. I've always been inspired by rock and metal singers who are classically trained like James LaBrie, Michael Kiske, and Hansi Kursch. In my first year at CMU i basically had a free pass into the voice department through recommendation from the choir directors. This meant no auditions, no theory tests. That year i had joined a band (re-joined my old band in some ways) as the singer. I figured it would be the right move to take these voice lessons to improve my voice. I've had experiences with classical training before though, and despite my nagging memories of not having any musical freedom (story of my life until basically this year) i shelled out the $700 for the lessons and the university credit. Yeah, they were a complete waste of time and money. I couldn't get behind any of the music i was learning, i hated practicing it, i hated going to the lessons. The next time i go into music lessons i'm not taking that "classical music is the base for all other musics, so you have to learn that first" bullshit. No, i've been studying it my whole fucking life, i'm sick of it, i'm gonna study what i want.
3. Last summer there was a girl at camp that i really fell for, and word on the underground was that she had fallen hard for me too. She wass considerably younger than me, our families knew each other as acquaintances, and i had an old (and now very awkward) friendship with her older brother. I told myself i didn't want to create drama by pursuing this as a relationship. I promised myself i wouldn't do anything unless she made the first move. She didn't, and we basically spent the summer with a glass wall between us. She is now dating a close friend of mine, which is sort of the kick in the teeth i deserve for basically being a dick that summer.
2. This summer i took a job at a factory in my city. It honestly is one of the stupidest things i've ever done. It's left me an emotional, spiritual, mental, social and physical wreck. I literally haven't seen any of my friends in months, and the only person i've had to talk to all summer is my mom. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it's kind of depressing knowing that my friends are doing stuff without me. I'm currently looking for a job elsewhere for the school year right now. When i tell everyone i can only work 2-3 days a week they all give me the same look, and i realize now i should've been looking for a job i could hold on to this summer.
1. In my first year of university i was really irresponsible with money. I would buy CDs, Movies, and Video Games like they were nothing. I probably spent just about all the money I made at my first job on stuff like this. I wasn't thinking about my future education at all, and if i had had some forethought i probably could've avoided number 2.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
