Achievements are out for the 360 version. They skew from what you'd expect to "what the fuck were they thinking". Seriously, Capcom, you expect us to play through the game 5 times in a day?

Quote:
Jitterbug -- Clear the game in 60 minutes or less (20 Achievement points)
Invincible -- Clear the game without dying (30 points)
Almost Invincible -- Clear the game without continuing (20 points)
No Coffee Break Clear the game without using any Energy or Mystery Tanks (10 points)
Peacekeeper -- Clear the game by defeating the fewest number of enemies possible (20 points)
Conservationist -- Clear the game by using the least amount of Weapon Energy possible (20 points)
Gamer's Day -- Clear the game five times in one day (20 points)
Whomp Wily! -- Clear the game once (5 points)
Destroyer -- Defeat your 1000th enemy (20 points)
World Warrior -- Defeat every type of enemy (5 points)
Trusty Sidearm -- Defeat the eight Bosses with the Mega Buster (20 points)
Blue Bomber -- Defeat a Boss without getting damaged (10 points)

CLEARLY THE BLUE BOMBER HAS NEVER BEEN WITH THIS ONE.
Beat the game 5 times in a week, fine, but one day? Why would I want to play through the same game, where the exact same thing happens, 5 times in one day? Unless I have a Mega Man party, and we take turns playing through it, I'll never get this achievement.

The others I'm fine with. It's sort of annoying that so many deal with clearing the game, but I can't fault them for rewarding hardcore players.

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Turnip makes it sound like Mega Man games are terribly long and therefore difficult to beat multiple times through in single sittings.
There's a reason that all but the first game have a password system. Besides, there's an achievement for beating the game in less than 60 minutes, so let's assume that the average playthrough time is at least that long. I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm saying it's not particularly fun to do. It's not all that hard, either, except for the fact that you have to sit on your couch for ~5 hours doing the same thing over and over.

I would assume "use as little weapon energy as possible" is taking into account the obstacles in Wily's castle, which always require you to use your special weapons (i.e., Crash Bombs, or Item 1 in MM2).

IGN gave it a 3.0 in graphics. I refuse to buy it now, because I might be irreparably harmed.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Protoman playable via DLC

DLC comes the week of Oct. 6 for $1.99/200 Wii Points/200 XBLA Points
You should correct your pricing, since the article you linked states the DLC is 160 MS points (in other words, $2 across the board).

Tritoch has a point, the achievement list wasn't all that great, and I'd get to play the game a week and a half early if I bought it on Wii. Then again, how many blocks would the game + DLC take up on my Wii? And I for one prefer the 360 controller.

EDIT: 66 blocks for the game, 2 blocks for a save. Not bad at all. Surely the DLC won't be huge. Once character, and some sort of new level so far, I think.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I'm pretty sure Crash was the one complaining. Then again, Rotor thinks MM6 is awesome on toast, so I could see where one could get confused.

Anyway, I haven't played enough to develop an opinion, but it's ok. The thing about the Mega Man games (besides the first one) is that they weren't hair-pullingly hard, and for all the "hey let's go back and do it like the old days" mentality of the designers, they seem to have forgotten that fact. Also, why did they out-and-out recycle some of the music? The boss introduction theme is fine, but they could have at least remixed it. And why go with the "weapon get" music out of MM2? That's the worst of any of them.

FELIPE NO

Edit: nutty, while I'm sure you have me on audio exaggerating on the radio show, I would have rationally said that Mega Man 6 is not as bad as people say it is. Same with 7 and 8.
Actually, I was going off what you said in chat awhile back. I could have sworn you ranked MM6 as your favorite, or close to it.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

Still trying to get past that stupid elephant. Not to mention the spikes in Jewel Man's stage.

Since no one has posted it yet, Protoman gameplay footage:

Video link, since youtube tags didn't work.

He acts like the more recent Mega Man, with the addition of a shield. Also, looks like he has some sort of gizmo in place of Rush.

Fixed. Maybe youtube tags don't work on stuff on Japanese youtube.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
