I developped tinnitus in both ears back in my old metal drumming days. This results in permanent ringing in both of my ears, kind of like that high-pitched TV screen noise.
I've gotten used to it so it's not much of a burden anymore in itself; however, my ears seem to have gotten a bit sensitive because of this. Exposure to noise and music beyond a certain level of loudness (especially anything involving cymbals) will inevitably result in pain and headaches, and temporarily make the ringing louder. I can live with it, I just hope it doesn't get worse. Don't wanna end up deaf at a young age.
Also, I have developped tendinitis in both hands, and early stages of it in my elbows. It's supposed to go away with time but it's been well over two years and nothing has helped. I'm not *constantly* in pain but it's very easily triggered and it will take a good night's sleep to go away.
These two conditions are a bit crippling when you're a pianist.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
