I wanted to go to Download but couldn't get the time off work. Damn you!
In the past I've been to Glastonbury, Reading, the old Essential festival in Brighton and the V festival.
Glastonbury I went for the drugs, Reading and V for the music (Metallica, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, The Orb all sorts really) and the Brighton one because it was within walking distance and pretty cool anyway.
Don't buy anything from the merchandise stalls on the first day. Wait until the last day, late in the afternoon when they're desperate to shift their stock and you can haggle them down to a reasonable price. At last year's V one stall was selling some decent t-shirts for £25 each. Last thing sunday evening when Prodigy were about to start and the two guys running the stall were pilling their faces off I got 5 for £15...
Jam it back in, in the dark.
