Killing Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications
Hi.
Everytime I turn on my pc, I get a pop-up telling em Windows wants to install the genuine advantage software to ensure all my MS products are properly paid for. Obviously, as some of them aren't, I don't want to install the thing but I'm getting bored of looking at the pop-up every time I log on. Is there any way to kill the installer? I found a few site telling me how to get rid of the thing once it's installed but I'd rather lose it before it's even got that far. Any and all advice gratefully received. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() ![]() |
I've got Automatic Updates set to, well, automatic. I guess I should switch it to verify mode, restart my computer and then tell it to fuck off.
Is it just Windows this thing verifies or other MS products? My copy of Windows is a totally genuine one, it's my copies of Office and stuff that are slightly more moody. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() ![]() |
Cool, if it still pops up again when I restart I might just install the damn thing. From the looks of things it's not overly difficult to remove it again once it's in there. I just didn't want it to fry all my programmes when I did.
How ya doing, buddy? ![]() ![]() |
