Just noticed this, is three-day shipping not the slowest and something you have to pay for over there then? If so, that would explain why so few Americans seem to consider buying online as a viable way of getting games, that's awful service. Amazon over here gives you free next-day delivery if you spend over £5, Game is free next-day delivery on everything, as are most online games shops.

Keep in mind the relative size of our countries. Some retailers offer California Overnight which is a special service that'll deliver anything in CA, AZ, and NM (I think it includes NM) for dirt cheap since they have to distribute over a much smaller area. Economies of scale seem to work backwards a bit when you've got over three million square miles of land to cover (England is ~2.5% the size of the US).

I realised that about as soon as I hit reply. I was assuming that over there you have the same density of distribution centres that we do (And a nationalised postal system like us) and it's easy to forget that some of you seem to drive further to get to work than it's possible to travel in Britain without doubling back on yourself.

There's nowhere I can't reach.
