No prizes for guessing who the secret character will be in the first Wii version of Soul Calibur.
How ya doing, buddy? ![]() ![]() |

Unless you're one of those fags who takes music from games, puts a Fruityloops drum pattern behind it then posts it on OCRemix of course, in which case you can fuck straight off back to your talent-vacuum of a day job. If disliking shit music made badly by nerdy kids makes me a snob then I'm glad to be a snob. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. ![]() ![]() |
Well clearly I don't, seeing as how I'm so close-minded. Obviously I need to be more open to experiences involving kids calling themselves DJ Sephiroth using cheap sequencing programmes to lay tired old drumloops and unbelievably dated synths under the string sections from Final Fantasy tunes.
Look kid, I'm sure your heart's in the right place and you're going to defend OCRemix until your fingers bleed but you're entirely missing my point now and the point I originally made. Someone said that the music for this Sonic game was going to have a Celtic feel and I made a joke that rather than the same old Enya-lite the Japs love plastering all over anything they want to sound Celtic in a computer game, as it's Sonic they'd probably put in some horrible late-90s dance music which, if you weren't such a close-minded ignoramous, you'd know had a lot of Celtic influence in the form of hacks like DJ Sakin dumping 808 drum loops on the music from Braveheart and calling it a tune. The music was universally derided by DJs and clubbers but stormed the charts, making it ideal for a Sonic game. See what I did there? My next comment was that on OCRemix there's a lot of tunes where some junior producer has taken a celtic feeling song from a game like Suikoden (Which is full of them) and added some wistful pan-pipes and a drum loop straight out of 1998 and called it a day. To anyone who's not a close-minded fool, this is old fashioned and basically crap. I never said everything on OCRemix was shit, some of the stuff on there is almost listenable in an ironicly amusing way. The problem here is that in leaping to defend some perceived slight against your website of preference, you've exposed your own musical ignorance and general inability to read and understand anything above the simplest and most basic of posts. I imagine you're an American which fair enough, puts you automatically five years behind the rest of the world in terms of dance music trends but to believe that the majority of the tripe that passes for dance remixes on OCRemix is in any way relevant to modern electronica and not at least ten years out of fashion is to almost wilfully ignorant. I appreciate that most of your contributors are far too young to be allowed out on their own at night and as such have to turn to the radio for inspiration which is never going to help and that probably explains why so much stuff they produce is such garbage but until you yourself have made the effort to find out what music trends are doing in the real world and experience some stuff that wasn't written by a 13 year old wiith thick glasses and Pikachu pajamas then you're in no position whatsoever to be making assumptions about other people's musical tastes or knowledge and you're doing a disservice to those very kids whose work you claim to be the head of evaluating. So stop being such a self-righteous little scrotum, learn to read people's posts properly and think before you post in future, ok? I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? ![]() ![]() |
Hi guys!
Firstly, I have to say I'm flattered that so many of the good folks of OCRemix have taken the time to register here at Gamingforce to tell me they don't care about my opinion. If I had known that OCRemix was such a source of lulz, I might have registered there rather than here all those years ago and now it could be me coming here to tell a different me that I don't care about my opinion. Imagine the hilarity that would ensue from that little conversation eh? Secondly, whilst I thank you all for taking the time out to inform me that I am wrong in my assertion that every single tune on OCRemix is a piece of shit dance music effort made by a 13 year old on an Amiga, had you all and Mr Liontamer in particular bothered to read the tl;dr post I made a few pages back, you'll have seen that I never actually said that and was simply commenting that the dance music that is there is of a generally poor quality. I know it was a long post and reading that much text is probably tough for the kind of people who don't think that computer game music isn't quite niche enough already and are arrogant enough to believe they can improve on it (Not that I'm saying you aren't, a lot of vgm is really, really shit and it wouldn't take much to improve it) but if you're going to take the time to register here and tell me how wrong I am, I'd have thought you might have at least bothered to find out what I was saying that you were disagreeing with in the first place. I mean sure, I was probably insulting you, if you're one of the OCRemixers (OCRers? OMixers? What is it you kids call yourself anyway?) who specialises in dance music but it was more of a critique of the American electronica scene in general and as has been so rightly pointed out, it's not the first time I've made these broad statements here and previously to this, I've avoided incurring the wrath of the wider, American dance music community. So I'm afraid to say that you chaps seem to have had a wasted trip. That's not to say you're not welcome here of course. Gamingforce is always happy to welcome new members and as a highly diverse community, you're bound to find some like-minded folk to chat with and you never know, you might even find some other people here who like you, have spent the last 5 years perfecting the art of using really expensive computer programmes to create free-form jazz versions of One-Winged Angel or whatever it is you've all moved on to since the heady days of Fruity Loops and 90's Eurohouse. Welcome to Gamingforce guys, nice to meet you all. Have fun posting around but do take a bit of time to read a few posts here and there before you start posting yourselves. You'll notice we have certain expectations of our members in so far as reading other people's posts and framing coherant replies go but we're not ogres or anythng and as Liontamer has demonstrated, even someone with a minimal grasp of English can fit right in here for a long time before we notice what a tool they are. I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() |

Do you think I could fit all that title he has in my custom title slot? That's a pretty impressive one line resume.

He crossed the line into mindless spam, had to go I'm afraid mate. I might have let it slide if it hadn't been in a non-standard character set.

You know putting your actual name in a title on a message board kinda negates the point of coming up with a silly moniker in the first place, surely?
Until 30 minutes ago I had "Saintly" written under my avatar, that doesn't mean my name is Mr Saintly does it? You really are a special kind of useless aren't you? It's a shame really because I'm kinda warming to most of our other new members from OCR, they seem pretty normal. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? ![]() |
See now Edge, you don't mind if I call you Edge do you? Edge, for all I know you might have been member number 2 on the very first iteration of Gamingforce, you could have been fondling bobo's balls while he first registered the domain name, fuck, you could even be bobo under a new guise but that makes no difference to the fact that until this little bit of frivolity with the kids from OCR cropped up, you'd never said anything. Technicalities aside, that makes you one of the new OCR kids, sorry, but it just does. How ya doing, buddy? ![]() |

Mario games are also competeing in a quite different market. Sonic on the 360 is up against hundreds of different games and IPs, many of which are a bit shit but some of which are really, really good. Your average Mario spin-off however, being on the Wii or DS is up against, well, a load of other Mario games, those terrible Imagine things a couple of lacklustre ports and Wii Fit/Sports/Play. This makes the Mario games look even better than they might already be as there's less stellar competition around.
If they only released Sonic games on a platform that had mainly Sonic games and a few other things that were for the most part a bit shit, I'm sure they'd score higher in reviwes. I was speaking idiomatically. ![]() ![]() |
