Haha.. I'm also an MMA fan. I've just never really looked at this forum. As for UFC, I don't really watch it. Maybe if I watched Ultimate fighter or something, I'd get more into it. Personally, I think elbows aren't really a good thing to have in MMA. From what I've seen, it makes early doctor stoppage more likely... and really, no one likes that.
I'm more into Pride FC, and recently K-1 Heros. Genki Sudo has a lot of fights in K-1, so I've been checking that out. Gomi, Sudo, Sakuraba, and pretty much all the current champions are my favorites. Most amazing jew boots |

There doesn't seem to be many people who actually watch that kinda stuff here I take it. Any good forums for mma fans? The trackers are hard to come by as well... -_-
There's nowhere I can't reach. |

My money is on Shogun too. Randelman is kinda one-dimensional. I don't think he can stand too well with Shogun, and Shogun is pretty hard to get onto the ground. How ya doing, buddy? |

There wasn't really anywhere for Randleman to go, he sorta looked like he was about to get pushed out at one point... I'd say its natural instinct to grab onto the ropes sometimes.
I'm looking forward to seeing Shogun improve and grow as a fighter, but I don't think there's any way he'll be able to take Fedor in the near future. I think all in all Coleman, even before the fight realized that Fedor was the best fighter already. I give him props for the insanely quick single leg, but he's just too one dimensional. Against fighters with good takedown defense, his weapons are severely limited. And hateration is given where it's due. Not stopping when the ref tells you a fight is over is an act worthy of it. Anderson Silva is trained by the nog brothers if that gives any indication to his level of skill. But Franklin being one of the top 3? That's kinda sad. He didn't do anything to try and escape Silva's clinch. My prediction is that Silva stays champion for a long while. Oh, and the elbow thing I must disagree with. They cause cuts a whole lot more than knees do. I'm not gonna go and count every case, but I'd hypothesize that cuts from elbows cause at least twice as many doctor stoppages than those from knees and footstomps combined. In my mind, mma is still a sport, and not streetfighting. To get better quality fights, you don't want fights to end prematurely. The danger involved with it really isn't the issue... they know what they're getting into. Its the entertainment value. How ya doing, buddy?

I honestly don't see how knees to a downed opponent are any more brutal than elbows to the face.
I personally don't find fighters who try to win by cut stoppage very entertaining, so I don't think the addition of elbows is a good idea. Ex: Florian. It's a sport, so people will take advantage of these kinds of technicalities. I think knees are good for making ground game more than just ground and pound, and footstomps are good weapon to use when attacking someone on the ground, so I really hope those are added. They cause massive damage and don't seem to cut people as easily, so I'd rather have those added. I was speaking idiomatically. |
