Are you defending someone for thinking that they can just say "I lost it" and expecting to not be charged for it? I doubt they're charged $600 and I doubt that they'd be dumb enough to agree to renting it, fully knowing the costs. If they don't pay or return it, they're referred to a credit agency. It's not stupid, it's ensuring people don't try retarded things like that to get "free" consoles.
