You know, I really don't see the problem with Main Theme 1. In fact, I think it's a very beautiful track. The instrumentation flows very smoothly, and it also develops a very interesting atmosphere. Sure, the melody isn't memorable, but the prettiness makes up for that in a flash. It's one of the rare tracks that really pulls off its enjoyability with the instrumentation as opposed to the actual melody (though, certainly, the melody has something to do with it too). Great stuff~
A vision is quite enjoyable too, although, in this week its melody doesn't really stand out amongst the other contenders. I don't have any direct complaints on the track, but I don't have anything that I really love about it either. Goldfish's Uematsu comment totally ruined my expectations for Deepsea Shrine. The more I listen to it, the more it sounds like something he'd compose (and I have a pretty strong anti-Uematsu bias, for now at least). I can respect that it's a well-composed track (probably better than a lot of Uematsu's stuff, to be fair), but the approach doesn't really appeal to me. I love the frantic approach of SADISTIC SEXART 2006, as well as the track title. The melody does some interesting things throughout, but unfortunately it doesn't leave much of an impression this week. The melody just isn't that memorable, and unlike Main Theme 1, it doesn't really carry an absolutely awesome style of instrumentation. Heart of Winter Theme just does nothing for me. I think it's one of the few tracks I've heard in SotW that fails to appeal no matter how often I listen to it. The short duration almost makes the track sound invisible amongst this week's batch.Ork = winnage. The development is great, and the melody does a bunch of interesting things. It's also not the most memorable or powerful melody, but the track varies enough to maintain a freshness of sound. That piano intro is to die for, too. The wackiness of BANG! BANG! BIG HORNES EXPLOSION wins on every level, too. I love its approach... Seems to toss out all dignity and blast fun music that will (hopefully) appeal to the listener. It definitely appeals to me; I might feel like dancing if I was even remotely good at doing such a thing. Brutal Battle is more or less in the same category as Heart of Winter Theme for me, although this time the melody is quite powerful and certainly more memorable. It still doesn't really stand out to me, personally. Guess I'm not much of a fan of Soule's stuff. 3 Points ~ Albert Odyssey Gaiden ~ Legend of Eldean - Main Theme 1 2 Points ~ THE ORIGINAL SOUND TRACK ALBUM OF GIANT EGG ~ MUSIC POPPED OUT OF THE EGG - BANG! BANG! BIG HORNES EXPLOSION 1 Point ~ Immortal 3 - Ork Jam it back in, in the dark.
