I've been in a similar situation before, my mum used to work in a pub and she had a crazy bitch go for her. Luckily though, I wasn't faced with your dilemna since my mum pretty much broke her jaw in return. She doesnt take any shit haha! I would have done what you did if it was neccessary though.
