I made a tofu dessert once that was good.
I melted chocolate with a little Kahlua and then blended it in silken tofu. I lput it in a gramcraker pie crust and let it set in the frig. It tasted like a chocolate moose. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Kahlua is a coffee liqueur . I don't put much in. Just a tea spoon or so.
If you don't drink alcohol you could probably substitute it with vanilla and some regular coffee flavor. To make the dessert healthier, you could substitute the chocolate with milk. Since kahlua flavor goes nice with milk. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Soy milk should work. You could even use that vanilla flavored brand you mentioned. Make sure its sweetened as well.
Also, since it's milk just add enough milk to were the tofu is a thick paste so it can reset when its in the frig. Or you could maybe put in alittle agar-agar (japanese seaweed gelitine) or unflavored gelitine to get it to set. :ashamed: I've never actually made this variation though. So If you do try it make a small test amount first. How ya doing, buddy?
