My old highschool let us have LANs a few times a year. I think you had to pay admission to get in, but it was just a general fee that covered being able to use the building that night for whatever we want (other people were there doing other things: watching movies or whatever). I think at most we had around 15-20 people there on computers at the same time. We've had a few other LANs at other people's houses of comparable size as well.
The largest I've personally hosted was at a hotel room with about a dozen computers and 15 or so people. We ended up blowing the circuit breaker for the room and we had to send someone down to the front desk to let them know so they could reset it. The girl at the front counter was pretty surprised from what I understand, she had apparantly never heard of that happening before. Most amazing jew boots |
