Even if you had a game for the PC with Linux and you put it on your linux capable ps3, you still couldn't. The game for the PC is compiled for x86 processor architectures presumably, not the IBM cell architecture.
IF it's a PS3 game demo though, I'm sure you could do it. If it's made for the PC, that's a no go. Jam it back in, in the dark. ![]() |
A game that runs on the PC WILL NOT run on the PS3. A game demo for the PC is created to run on an x86 compatible chip. The PS3's Cell processor is not x86, hence it can not run the game code.
Anyone who knows anything about compilers or programming knows this. You may have downloaded a PS3 demo on your computer, transfered it to the PS3, and then played it. However, you did not take a PC game demo, and run it on your PS3. It will not happen. If it does, the game you downloaded has two executables, one for PC architectures and one for PS3 architectures. This is extremely unlikely. There's nowhere I can't reach. ![]() |
