I still haven't checked out their Darkstalkers series, so I'm not sure if delivers the same kind of quality (I'm also curious if they've kept any of Morrigan and Lilith's raunchier innuendos).

Well, I didn't say the Udon's artwork isn't nice. Is just that, they don't dealt into the characterization and development very much, and instead trying to get as many character tie into the story as possible. I personally think Nakahira has much deeper understanding of the character and their motivations, and knows what he wanted to do with them to accomplish a dramatic narrative (although taking a lot of artistic licence in the process, Krin is one example).
Also, is it just me, or did they totally butchered Rival School? ;_;
There's nowhere I can't reach.
