Habanero-tan isn't a stand alone phenomenon though, I mean there are infinite numbers of cutesy mascot out there for just about anything floating around 2ch (specifically the 自作絵, original images made by 2chan-ers) from time to times. And some of them seem to catch on. I am looking for pancake-tan right now, but those are hard to find. >.>
