Considering the average size of PS2 titles is 3 gb, you would need some massive space to get yourself a proper library. Even 120 gb wouldn't cut it, that's only 40 or so games. Which again, depends on size.
This is why they have torrents for a reason. You can't share a connection with the ftp host and support the file you've downloaded like you can with torrents, so I'd just stick with those. It's not like it's very hard to find the latest game available, if we're talking PS2.
tl;dr PS2 ftp = no.
Jam it back in, in the dark.
