![]() ![]() The RE4 pack only cost $10 US, and it's all legit. This has to be probably the best deal of the century. Pop'n Music 11 and ESP Galuda were quite expensive though. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
![]() Basically this game is essential to any person's collection. It includes elements from Dynamite Headdy and Gunstar Heroes, and you can tell it's a Treasure title. The controls are a bit stiff, and the difficulty level isn't anything to be ignored. It's a really good title. I'm not sure if it has much replay value, but you need to complete the story twice over thanks to time travel anyway and I'm still going. This is the best $27 I've ever spent. How ya doing, buddy? |
![]() Children of Mana was on special at play-asia, and Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow I bought from an auction site. They're both very good games. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
![]() (from left to right) Rez is legendary. I can't wait to hook up my bigger speakers to my tv and play through this once again, hopefully gaining over 98% hit ratio to get the true ending. Then there's the secret modes and stuff, but being a small game and all I don't want to rush things. The second level boss and the majority of the last level are the most captivating aspects I found in Rez. Capcom vs. SNK 2 is pretty neat. This was a steal at $10 used, I don't care if it has scratches. The Dreamcast version is better, but I still couldn't pass up the opportunity. Some of the character sprites are outdated for 2001 (WILL THEY CHANGE MORRIGAN'S FUCKING BODY PLEASE) but it isn't bad. I wish Haohmaru had more moves though. Mushihimesama is terrible. I only really bought it because someone in my area had a sealed copy with the OST for mega cheap. If it weren't for the scanlines, music resetting when you pause, the level 5 boss appearing during level 5 training, and the inability to use "restart", I might actually play it more. After playing a few other shooting titles recently I find Mushi's bullets too fast for my liking, but despite that, I'd probably enjoy this game if it had the level of quality seen in the Arika CAVE ports. CAVE need to drop Taito entirely and just take things up with Arika permanently. kthxbye~ Pochinya is a fun little puzzle game. It's basically a puyo clone with these malformed bricks, which you can endlessly pile on and blow out at will. You can change your current falling blocks into "spike" blocks at the press of the button so this game has combos and stuff. I like combos. Most amazing jew boots |
![]() I don't think I even need to begin to explain why I imported this. I was speaking idiomatically. |
It's Phoenix Wright, duh. Or I should say "Gyakuten Saiban Mask Murder Case" which has been reprinted last week.
The original, to import, would be around $75 US. This was only $30 and I'm pretty sure anyone in their right mind wouldn't pay $45 extra just so that it's not a "best hits" edition. I probably wouldn't have purchased it if it didn't have the dual language option. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Hopefully you'll enjoy the pain which is getting used to the 2D/3D controls~ FELIPE NO |
![]() August. Sonic Gems Collection is pretty bad, so thank god it was cheap. I'll end up selling it because the entire thing has NOTHING worth playing. Even Sonic CD isn't worth playing since the OST is the american version. Mega Collection looked tempting, but since it's basically a bunch of roms and an emulator, I'll pass. I've completed Paper Mario (sup ronz) and loved it. The game had it's slow points (ie. Glitzville, Poshley Heights) but was still highly enjoyable. The ending was pretty generic though. It all up took me 38 hours to complete. The giant tree was probably my favorite part, along with finding random stuff like star pieces. It's a shame games like these don't hold very much replay value in them. I'm working on Metroid Prime 1. The game's great, but I don't really enjoy the controls all that much. I'm sure if I spent more time with it I'd get the feel for it though. I'm stuck around Phendranananaurrrgh. You know, the ice area which is all sealed off and looks like doors need to be opened with a different weapon. (and which links from Magmoor Caverns) F-Zero GX looks amazing. It arrived today with Bujingai, but I haven't had a chance to play them yet. From videos I've seen, they both look incredibly fun. I honestly don't know why people give them shit. ACZ is also making great use of my surround system, and the japanese version has english optional. More games should do this, really. The only annoying part is AWACS is in japanese regardless. Probably the most satisfying thing about Bujingai and ACZ is that they were a grand total of $25 US all up. Next month should be pretty huge as well, there's alot coming out. But I'm in no rush, these games I have right here will keep me busy for quite awhile. I don't really like to purchase other games when I already have a backlog of them which need completing. And considering I'm one of those faggy obscure indie gamers who usually only imports 2D games, getting these titles for GC have been a nice change. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

![]() September's officially over, but the games which came out of it are amazing. I definitely have my hands full, especially with Okami and Disgaea 2 which are extremely high time consuming titles. I didn't bother to order Valkyrie Profile 2, just because I couldn't bring myself to play through the first one. The whole "LOL NO LEVELLING UP, X DAYS UNTIL HOLOCAUST" thing was pretty annoying. I like to really get involved in my games, and I don't enjoy games with timers or limits like that. Gitaroo Man WAN was a promotional game released prior to Gitaroo Man itself, but I still ordered it since it's pretty rare and you won't find it on ebay. Disgaea 2's maintained alot of the previous game's elements, but I've completed it and I didn't find the story all that interesting (in comparison to the original title). Okami is possibly the best game to come out of september, or this entire year. I'm really impressed. Although I expected this since I've been waiting since frickin' APRIL for it to be released (exploring the japanese version was fun, but I couldn't get very far) and so far it's been worth the wait. Metal Slug 6's a great game which has improved SNK's reputation since their abysmal Metal Slug 4 and 5 titles. It's still hard, but it's set after Metal Slug 3's plot and I'm liking the old school style. Surprisingly, all of the menus are in english (minus the slug training, which is basically a quest to do certain things in the different levels or levels which must be completed as well as reaching certain requirements.) I'm looking foward to Phoenix Wright 2 and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood this month, along with whatever else might pop up in the process. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Just because you can't complete a mission doesn't mean the entire game sucks, dude.
I mean, some of the races you have to do in the original Vice City were pretty annoying. And I thought my copy of Vice City was glitched when I found 99/100 Hidden Packages. I proceeded to follow through again with a guide (and a new save) and found them all. In short, who cares, just download a PSP save if it's bugging you that much. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
![]() nnf nnf~ Still need to get Contact and Touch Detective myself. Children of Mana arrived and I'm lovin' it. It's really colorful on the DS and since I already have the japanese version I knew what to expect. Then again I'm just a sucker for dungeon crawlers like Chocobo's Dungeon and this. Wanderer is pretty much useless, from hat I played of him in the japanese version, so if anyone's thinking of using him, don't. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
![]() Totally forgot about this thread. I'm playing through Tales of the Abyss right now. I was speaking idiomatically. |
I remember playing the game years ago, and it's pretty long. I'll leave it to last since it's so time consuming. Plus I'm a huge mecha nerd. How ya doing, buddy? |
It's a fucking steal from play-asia because it's on special.
It's your basic 2D platformer, but in the DS version they've added 3D-on-2D levels. All the characters and enemies are still in 2D, though. Theres minigames during the different stages as well, which is nice. But I was told it wasn't a very long game. ![]() I'm enjoying it (maybe not as much as Contact) but I've played Stafi 2 and 3 on GBA so I knew what I was getting into. You can also play as the female starfish (I can't think of her name) but she feels a little clunky. You don't really need to understand the story in order to play it at all, since it's all "I have a problem help me find this item" situations. It's quite easy. The puzzles aren't all that hard, since most of them just require you to push blocks to get items, spin dash at certain things in a set order. What I don't like is that as soon as you leave an area, all enemies will reappear there. It's like you didn't even do anything. I haven't played through that much of the game but it seems pretty worthwhile. There isn't a large amount of japanese DS games which are easily playable for non-japanese speakers. Stafi 4 is mainstream in japan, and they should just bring him out in english (it's basically a kirby with pointy edges). But yeah, for the price at play-asia I couldn't complain. I think Contact > Stafi =/= Touch Detective > Children of Mana in terms of the DS games I've purchased. FELIPE NO |
It includes Ocarina of Time, as well as Master's Quest, which is basically a remixed version of OOT.
It's pretty good. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Well, this was my december. :3 How ya doing, buddy? |
Yeah it clearly states on the other side that there's 10 covers. A Super Metroid one, Pokemon one, Tetris and a few others. This is still sealed though and it doesn't look like it's ever been touched. I'm debating whether or not to open it or keep it and track down another copy sometime (probably ebay).
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
It's a gigantic bible of TP. It's 450 pages or something, which is truly amazing. Comes with a cloth map too.
Speaking of purchases, a couple of things won't arrive before early february, but since january And I just like provoking Ultima. ![]() ![]() high res desu Wii Freeloader Chibi Robo (US) Final Fantasy X International (J) Ikaruga (J) Twilight Princess (PAL) Twilight Princess Limited Edition Guide Zone of the Enders 2 Premium Pack HOLY SHIT I BOUGHT A PAL GAME. Twilight Princess' fun, but I haven't started it properly. I'm just past the first temple and about to venture into Hyrule Field. Chibi Robo is chibi, but also amazingly cute and very entertaining. Oh and I also picked up some Wii component cables from play-asia for $10US, which make all Gamecube and Wii games look great. FFX International has an option for english, as well as additional bosses/new sphere grid/some other stuff I'm probably forgetting. This is one of the few Final Fantasy titles I liked (6, 7, and X) and I managed to pick this up for $30 US locally. Sealed. Ikaruga was also quite cheap, especially as the japanese version doesn't have the glitches the PAL one does. I don't plan on taking this game seriously since shmups already consume too much of my time - I don't need another one doing the same. ![]() The TP guide is beautiful, as is the cloth map. The pages haev this gold cover to them, which made it difficult to look at at first. I had to seperate the pages individually (I'm pretty sure they coat the pages last) and some of them were really stuck together. The Wii Freeloader lets me play foreign games on my PAL Wii. But overall, the ZoE2 Premium Pack was by far the best thing about january. The art book, heavy gauge, soundtrack and game are all beautifully presented in this huge box (with even more art imprinted on it) and it just looks good. I didn't have to pay postage as the person selling this (I requested it directly from him, since he told me he owned it and was selling up some of his gear) just happened to be in my town early jan. The art book is by far one of the greatest art books ever made. There was only 1000 of these box sets ever made, so I'm extremely happy. Next month probably won't be as exciting. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

I really like Squeak Squad. It's on my to-buy list. I love games which use the top screen of the DS for gameplay, like it's meant to.
I'd go as far as saying it's the second best Kirby game, sitting of course under Superstar. Almost all Kirby games are shorter but I find them to be high quality, so I'm not fussy. How ya doing, buddy? |
So, a 3D Sonic game that doesn't suck and is enjoyable? ![]() What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
