No worry. It's only a week. This game has been delayed, how many times before and for how many months?

Actually this is pretty good for me, since Play-Asia wasn't getting it in until the 26th anyway. They usually won't get American games straight away, but it beats the hell out of $11.50US in shipping. Waiting a few more days won't hurt.

Jam it back in, in the dark.

Holy shit, it's a website dedicated to RPGs giving an RPG game a high score.

I think I'll stick to personal judgement and youtube videos when it comes to "evaluating" a game.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

IIRC, only 4 games ever have gotten that high of a score or higher in the 'Land, so a 9.5 is kinda up there.
(Xenogears, Lunar 2, Skies of Arcadia, Wind Waker)
Why would someone take the time and effort to make a review of Lunar 2 without making one for Lunar 1? I don't get it.

Thank god it wasn't released while I was sleeping. I just slept for 12 hours. Yikes.

I don't expect to get my physical copy for at least two weeks Since I pre-ordered from Play-Asia. They take longer because first they have to get the game in from overseas to Hong Kong, before shipping it out. But, hey, at least they're reliable.

I haven't been this hyped up for a game in a very long time. The suspense is killing me. ;_;

Argh.. of course the game is already released on newsgroups. Too bad I don't have any access to it. ;_;

Oh well, only a matter of hours until I touch Gechmir's source for P3 love. Damn, why does touhou 10 and Persona 3 have to come out on the SAME week? :[

Edit: Awesome. It's out. Getting it now. <3

Well, this is from wikipedia:

He is known in Japanese fandom as Shūjinkō (主人公, Shuujinkou, literally "main character"?). In the Manga version, authored by Sōkabe Shūji , he is named Minato Arisato (有里 湊, Arisato Minato?)

To keep with the theme and flow of the game, I'm going to name him the former, but just "Shuu".

A big thank you for using spoilers so early.

I've decided I'm not going to chew through bricks to get the game via torrent, but wait for my copy to arrive, and then play it. I'm not in a position to be downloading torrents anyway (I have to pay for my upload speed AND my download speed, and to top it all off, it's also capped after 15 gb/month), although if someone could upload it to my ftp or give me a direct download somehow, I definitely appreciate and probably would go for that option.

but I couldn't choose Jap voice in P3
Even though the Japanese version of Persona 3 was filled with famous seiyuus, the English version is still pretty good. Here's what I found out from reading the wiki article:

Main character is the same voice actor as Pixy in Ace Combat, Kyle from Suikoden V, Giacomo from Baten Kaitos Origins, Cornelius from Odin Sphere, Serph from Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2, Steve from Rogue Galaxy, Gig from Soul Cradle, Luke from Tales of the Abyss, Derek from Trauma Center..

Yukari's voice actor also did Etna from Disgaea, Elena from Advent Children, Velvet from Odin Sphere, Alicia from Valkyrie Profile 2..

Junpei's voice actor did Alph from Luminous Arc, Edge from Atelier Iris 3, Radolf from Ar Tonelico..

Oh and Aegis' voice actor did the voice for Gwendolyn in Odin Sphere. So, yeah, I don't mind not having an option for Japanese voices in this game at all.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

I'm only a couple of hours in but I'm really enjoying the game so far. Nothing really bugs me at all.

There seems to be an undub torrent available but I personally like the English voice acting. Junpei, Mitsuru and Yukari all sound fine to me. Akihiko's okay.. but whatever, can't complain.

Fuck, I just realized the headphones are actually available to purchase in real life. As is the main character's mp3 player, which is a 1 gb silver sony walkman. I must now proceed to buy both immediately.

The cheapest versions of those headphones/mp3 player I found were these:

Headphones (a lesser model, not the exact pair, but it looks just like the game's ones)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/cus...R2G4OK35NFN59N

MP3 player lookalike (no one has been able to find the "exact" player that he wears in the game)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/cus...ustomerReviews
Yeah, they look great, and I might even buy a pair myself, but they specifically state his headphones are these:

And the mp3 player is a blue/silver, which looks practically identical to this:

Unfortunately the mp3 player was only released outside of Japan in the color black, so if you want silver, you would have to import. There's a pair of the headphones I just showed on ebay, but they're expensive, and still cheaper if you bought through Y!JP.

In any case I want them both.

Arg! I HATE this game's full moon nights at times! Lost to the stupid second full moon night battle (and it was going well too, the f'ers got a lucky string of hits in on my character!) and now I have to go through all the text and crap again. So freaking annoying that this game doesn't allow one to skip story scenes with the Start button or something. Sorry needed to vent, while I yep you guessed it, am going through all the events that I'VE ALREADY GONE THROUGH ONCE BEFORE!
...hold triangle.

Is that really it? I had looked in the config menu and only saw the auto advance for voiced text, which would have only been partially helpful. Since I managed to beat the boss battle the second time with them only getting two hits in on me, I guess I won't be able to try it out until the next time I manage to lose on a full moon night, but thank you!

I see no mention of that functionality in the manual, and don't remember the game mentioning it either, so it is supposed to be some kinda of hidden feature?
I don't think it's a hidden feature. You hold down triangle and it breezes through text.

I wouldn't use it unless you already know the conversation though. P3's dialogue is too valuable to skip through.

How ya doing, buddy?

There's one thing about the process of Persona fusing that's been really bothering me: You're basically lost if you don't use a fusing guide or note down combinations on your own. Just why is it that the game can't provide you with a list of recipes?

I don't want to resort to GameFAQs just to find out how to fuse that certain type of Persona I require to beat a certain boss. Experimenting isn't an option and trying a sheer infinite amount of combinations takes ages.

I don't know, but the entire fusing business still doesn't sit right with me. That's a shame, especially since it seems to be a central aspect of the game.
No, not really. I mean, it's not like you're obligated to fuse Personas in the first place. And besides, you wouldn't want to do so unless you had a decent Social Link to do so. Sometimes it's better to fuse two together otherwise they're just sitting around, doing nothing.

Also there isn't enough Metis fan art.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Metis? The only times I've seen that mentioned are by that Kouli guy in his Fes section, which got me curious to see just what we missed out on.

Though after reading up on it, Fes definitely should've been the original version of the game.
Yeah, Metis is Aegis' sister apparently. I really like the appearance.

I really hope they translate Fes. Even if a translation group that wasn't Atlus did it, it'd still be worth it. Hell, the undub was out within one day of it's release. What are the odds?

I am really tempted to order the headphones as well..

You know there's a stand alone version of Fes?

For the append disc, it doesn't even need memory data. Just a copy of Persona 3 (switching technique) if you want to load New Game+

Can someone help me out here? My copy is still sealed, and I don't want to open it right now. However, I'm tagging the US soundtrack, which I've done by taking the tracks from the JP soundtrack and tagging them if they sound identical.

I'm missing tracks 14, 15, 17, and 18. I couldn't find a tracklist of the US partial OST anywhere, so, maybe someone could tell me what the tracks are as described in your manual? I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

ATLUS has showed an abnormal dedication to this series, and they might very well push for its release.
Uh.. that's because they created it. It's also the third most popular RPG series in Japan.

It seems like Atlus have no intention of releasing FES in English. I'm not going to hold out hope for it either. People don't even know Persona 3 exists. Then an expansion pops up and people go "wtf.", find out they need the original game in order for it to play, and say "forget that.". Unless they release the standalone version of FES, which would defeat the purpose of Persona 3 existing entirely.

Basically, they would have to release it as the append disc, forcing people to purchase the original, on top of the price being something like $20, and ~30 hours+ of dialogue to translate.. and for the amount of $20's they're going to be selling. It's financially not worth it.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?

It's confirmed。 Anyone want to donate me 600 dollars? This, plus Disgaea 3, justify the purchase of a PS3 for me。 Although I still want to wait until one's easily moddable, so I don't have to mess around with PS1 and PS2 regiosn。
