But dude. Dude. Rockgamer, AC04 and ACZ are the pinnacle of the series. Be sure to check them out. (Especially 04, which I enjoyed more, but people will argue this.) There's nowhere I can't reach. |
![]() I took this picture a few days ago, but since then I've bought a new camera so heres the shit I've bought recently. ![]() Gears of War: Very fun, but short game. I enjoyed the entire experience but it's only something like 6 hours long. I can't play it online with others mostly because my internet connection is trash and can't be helped. But right now I'm going through the game on hardcore mode and it's just as fun the second time around (if not more). Cooperative play makes Gears of War piss easy, btw. The only thing I DIDN'T like is that when using Left Handed control mode, you can't control your character while sprinting. Holding the A button and up on the RIGHT analog stick = fuck annoying. Makes jumping over stuff difficult too, so I canned that idea and went back to the default controls. I.Q. Remix+ (import): If you know of Kurushi or Intelligent Qube, it's basically a remixed version for the PS2. For a remake, it's sub par. They've added blurry motions, a trance-esque theme to the levels, different variations in the way you destroy blocks, and a 100-level puzzle mode. It isn't bad, but it isn't as good as the original game. But rare? Yeah just try finding this game on ebay in the next year. Shooting Collection Volume 3: Sol Divide and Dragon Blaze (import): Picked this up for $30US. Which is cheap for an import, you know. Although this one doesn't justify it's price as the games are shit. Seriously, Sol Divide is terrible, and Dragon Blaze is almost the exact same as Gunbird (characters have the same "I need to find a piece of the puzzle and once all 3 pieces are complete I'll doMiNaTe The WoRLD" garbage goin' for them. Dragon Blaze is a LOT better in comparison to Sol Divide but that isn't saying much. Wii Classic Controller (import, lol): I needed this to play Toejam and Earl on Virtual Console with. Not to mention future VC games which I'll probably be purchasing. The dpad's a bit stiff for diagonally moving upright/upleft/downright/downleft, but it isn't something intolerable. God Hand: This game is FUCKING AWESOME. I'm on Hard mode already, and it's just slightly hard. Hard as in, it ended up taking me around 120 continues to complete stage 1. If you think the main story is difficult (which it is, over usual titles and their wondrous "normal" modes), you'd be right. Kula World (PAL): This game is pretty rare these days. Shit, it's going for $100 US for the PAL version. I'm not kidding, either. I got lucky and bought one for $57US. Aside from it's rarity, it's a great puzzle game. Much like Inteligent Qube in quality, the game's strategic difficulty and unique attributes to different puzzles makes it fun and not a totally boring puzzle game, to play. Nintendo Prize Collection Series Family Computer Controller Type Television Remote Control 2 (import): It's a novelty tv remote. Up/down controls volume, left/right controls the channels. Select controls source/AV channels and start turns it on and off. Works like a charm, but it's a tad useless when I need to bring my tv's interface up. IIDX 10th Style + IIDX KOC: If anything I'm glad I bought 10th Style. I was recommended it by a friend who plays iidx quite often. Most of the songs on the playlist are pretty decent and the game's definitely addictive. The only problem is my timing is horrible, and the IIDX KOC was second-hand, pre-modded with the slipmat and cardboard mods. I've taken out the slipmat (and put it back in, and taken it out, and put it back in, etc), but I think I'll leave it in, since it makes the turntable spin much faster and it's much looser. The keys feel rather hard to press with the cardboard mod in place, so I think I'll remove them when I get around to adding the turntable mod back in. Mushroom: It's a mushroom. :V This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

![]() Izuna, Rhythm Tengoku, Megaman ZX, Phoenix Wright and Dodonpachi Daioujou. Daioujou I've been meaning to get for a long while, but priced at $70-80 US wasn't appealing for a hard-as-fuck game such as this. Got it brand new for $55 though, so that's alright. The manual folds out into a poster and there's also a bonus superplay DVD included (which is really nice to watch). I especially like the box art on this game. Phoenix Wright I originally had (japanese version) and sold, so I rightfully had to purchase another copy, this time american. Never bothered to finish my original copy's Chapter 5 so I'll get around to it sometime on this. Megaman ZX is surprisingly good. The map is really, really, extremely shitty, and it's easy to get lost, but the gameplay's there and it works quite well. Huge improvement over the GBA Megaman/Rockman games. Izuna's pretty easy to pick up and play quickly, but it's quite hard at times and getting into impossible situations is inevitable. Game's got some great potential but choice on dungeon crawlers is always so limited as it's a niche genre. Rhythm Tengoku is like crack. It's basically a japanese version of Warioware, and it's probably the most entertaining GBA game of all time. How ya doing, buddy? |
James Pond? Holy shit, WIN.
Requesting pictures of your Famicom collection, please. I was speaking idiomatically. |
This puts my Gitaroo Man/ICO/SotC collections to shame. Total shame. Perhaps even my japanese PS- well, maybe not that. I don't have anything as unique and different to match such an.. odd collection. It makes me wonder if someone owns all versions of Lemmings and the rest. Stefan, are you a collector of certain games you enjoy? I'd like to see more of your collection if possible. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |

![]() I haven't really given Odin Sphere the respect it deserves, I've been too busy with Dead Rising lately. The game is really good, although it's pretty repetitive. Go rescue someone. Drag them back and watch the AI shit itself. Or, kill zombies over and over. Still it's pretty addictive, the psychopaths make it a unique challenge. Some pretty hard achievements in this game too. Odin Sphere is obviously great, the japanese AND english voices are near perfectly fitting to their characters. Obviously the best game on the PS2 this year. War Tech: Senko no Ronde is great, I'm really digging the art style and attacks. The melee side of things is clunky as hell but most of the game you're dodging bullets/running around so it's okay. Kororinpa arrived a few days ago. Best game on the Wii so far. The box art KICKS ASS. But the game is pretty normal in difficulty level. Really unique game, I'd recommend buying it if you have a Wii. It's short (I heard 40 levels, but I haven't completed it to know) so I'm getting gold on each level before trying the next. Ninety Nine Nights wins for the most slow paced button mashing game to ever exist. Don't worry, this was free. Apparently the English version sucks, but I dunno. Lots of enemies and not really that many ways to kill them. I love hack n slash, but even I can spot a boring game, and this is one of them. PGR3's neat. Japanese version is in English with Japanese pop oh yeah. I guess Photoshop 2 (Forza 2) makes this game irrelevant, but it's still neat. Free game. ![]() Press kit! 30 bux. Came with a demo which includes the intro, along with the game itself. The manual is actually fused into the cardboard box which is odd. There's also a towel with Devil Jin on it. ![]() Oh yeah and this Japanese 360 for Blue Dragon and other.. exclusives I intend on buying. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
It depends on the game, there's a compatibility list on play-asia which is very useful. Games like the USA version of Dead Rising, Bullet Witch, etc, work with the Japanese 360. Also, a lot of brand new NTSC/J "Asian" games are cheaper (about $40 each) and come in English. (ie. Oblivion, Viva Pinata, etc). Plus, the console itself was cheap, and now I don't have to worry about any future next-gen region locking. Still undecided on Oneechanbara. Apparently it doesn't have the greatest gameplay in the world, but I'm still interested. I'm a sucker for zombies. The original Oneechanbara was fun, but then they went and removed Aya's special in Oneechan 2 as well as changing the blood from red to purple. I don't really know what improvements were invisible in the second game. :[ How ya doing, buddy?

It's bad enough everyone thinks the game will be released with English songs, but I very highly doubt that the iDOLM@STER Gamerpics being released shortly after the director saying he wanted to bring the game out in English "if there was enough interest" was merely a coincidence. Even if it does get released with English songs, EBA did this and it was a pretty good game. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
You took that image from wikipedia without looking at their ages, didn't you?
How ya doing, buddy? |
![]() Spice World was so disappointing, because it was announced that Geri left the Spice Girls just weeks before the games PAL release. I still bought it (it was like, $20 US brand new? Which was really cheap for over here) and it sucked balls, you couldn't string together a song, it was just a bunch of bullshit. Oh but it came with a 10 minute exclusive interview. ![]() I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
SUPERGUN. I believe MrMonkeyMan has one of those for Ketsui. I've always been interested in getting one of them, but not sure how to go about doing so. Plus, PCB collecting is a very expensive hobby.
Anyway, I've bought a bunch of stuff lately, most importantly my favourite touhou games: ![]() More info here. I was speaking idiomatically. |
You realize there's a black dude in front of your tv, right?
What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
Let's see... these are the games I've bought since my last post in this thread (touhou/august 1st)
![]() Bought an American copy of Dead Rising because I wanted to finish the game. I did, but I'm still not done with it. Excellent game. Totally worth every penny. Blue Dragon was cheap, even though it really isn't my kind of game. Box art is nice, manual is bilingual, and the game is in English with Japanese or Korean VAs (selectable). iDOLM@STER and Ultra Puzzle Bobble were also quite cheap - $65 at Play-Asia is a rip off - iDOLM@STER I bought for $40, and Ultra Puzzle Bobble was only $14 and came with a calendar and a bunch of post cards. The calendar's for 2005, but it's still a nice addition which I wasn't expecting. Persona 3 is of course a must-buy. I like how Atlus reported that every single copy of Persona 3 which has been shipped has been sold. Game of the year. ![]() My weapon in the fight against shmups. It's quite stiff in comparison to my other PS2 Saturn pad which I use for shmups, but it's breaking in nicely with my daily touhou runs. Notice the USB port, this is an official PC Saturn pad. ![]() Also bought this, which as $220 (extremely good price, they sell for $400+ on ebay if they're even on ebay at all) and proceeded to do this to my ring finger: ![]() I really need to take it easy.. (I bet this post looks just dandy with the filter on.) FELIPE NO |

Akumajou Dracula X Chronicles Limited Edition (Konamistyle)
Taiko no Tatsujin DS Bleach 2nd DS The Orange Box Eternal Sonata ~Trusty Bell~ American SNES Lufia II That's it for now. I was planning on buying NiGHTS, but I'll probably wait until the PS2 remake comes along. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
Akumajou Dracula X Chronicles Limited Edition (Konamistyle) ![]() This art book is fantastic, I absolutely love Koji Igarashi's art. It features all Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night art, including this legendary piece of art across two pages. The only downfall of this package is that it didn't come in a box or anything, it was lose. The game I haven't really gotten around to play just yet. The screen protector is pretty useless, but the pouch is nice. The strap has a pixellated Richter cleaning strap attached to it. Taiko no Tatsujin DS ![]() Thi game pretty much ruins your touchscrene. It comes with two comical styluses which you probably aren't going to use, but they're nice. I've already beaten all of the songs on Hard, but I'm probably not going to bother with Oni mode due to 1) it's hard and 2) I thrashed the game, it's time to give it a break. Bleach 2nd DS ![]() I had absolutely no intention of purchasing this, but someone in my area was selling it really cheap, and I remembered it was a title from Treasure, so I bought it. Turns out it's a pretty solid game. The Orange Box ![]() I had no intention of buying this either, it just happened. I originally wanted it for Portal, but the real reason it was so worth it was because of TF2. TF2 fucking rules, and everyone should at least try it out once to see if they like it or not. I haven't bothered with the Half-Life games though. Eternal Sonata ~Trusty Bell~ ![]() They finally released this in English for NTSC-J regions in November, and I've been wanting this game for a long time. The English voice acting is great, and I really like the whole feel of the game. It's quite linear, but I like that too. And on top of that, this is probably the best looking game for the 360. American SNES ![]() Actual picture. It's in excellent condition and didn't cost very much at all. My previous one (my first import <3) was really yellow and had a faulty power cord. This popped up so I decided to grab it. I'm surprised someone down here was selling one (and because it's American nobody wants it). Lufia II ![]() Another actual picture. The box isn't in great condition, but the cartridge and manual are. This actually cost more than the SNES, but I've never played the game before, and everyone continually recommended it to me, so here we go. And.. that's it. Happy Q? I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
That's what I hate about eBay though, everyone always does that. Half of their product cost is shoved into the postage, to make the item appear cheaper than it really is. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Why am I not joking. Actually that's another game I forgot to mention in my previous post. I bought Zone of the Enders 2: Special Edition off someone in the UK. It was $50, which is fantastic, considering its rarity. The case and manual are in perfect condition, and the game is flawless (oh, I was talking about the disc, but either way works.) What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
