![]() It's covercat ALL OVER AGAIN. Too bad the Wii isn't region free, because some of those look fun. I own one of the SD Gundam Famicom games, it's neat. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
Just watched the first quarter of Gamespot aquiring a Wii and playing it, I'm up to the part where they're trying Super Monkey Ball's different multiplayer options.
I can't see myself using the Mii very much, because I probably won't be all that interested in Wii Sports in general. But yeah, I'm going to continue to watch until they get up to Twilight Princess, which is last like they said. Most amazing jew boots |
This Zelda segment is pretty slow. The graphics look great on the other hand, but they aren't really doing anything.
In fact, all they're doing is getting Link to do different chores around the town. I haven't seen any real story yet. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
I went there in 2002 (or 03, I can't remember) when the Gamecube was being released. There was an entire room called "The Cube Room" with SSBM and Gamecubes comin' up the hell right now. Of course I didn't get a turn, because nobody was sharing. I don't think I'll get a Wii on December 7th. After watching the Gamespot Wii parade, it looks fun, but there just isn't enough launch titles to keep me satisfied. The true test of the console will be the games released in '07. I was speaking idiomatically. |
Why would they receive demonstration Wii remotes and mix them up with retail ones? Or, for that matter, why would there be demonstration Wii remotes so close to the launch? They switched players often so I doubt they were.
This just strengthens my point of waiting and not rushing in at launch. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

Anyway, Wii component cables. Neat. Now if only they would get off their asses and start making Gamecube component cables, I wouldn't still be looking for ones to purchase. (Or rather, I still wouldn't be looking at ones on different sites selling them for $60US+ a piece.) What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Having a HDTV for a Wii is pointless. Nintendo said they're focusing on games, not HDTV bullshit. It isn't essential for the next generation and that's exactly why nobody needs one. Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Of course the Wii version is better, that doesn't necessarily mean the Gamecube version isn't worth purchasing though. Gamecube owners have been waiting for years for this game to be released, I think they deserve it. Most amazing jew boots |
![]() Just bought this from Best Buy. This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I forgot to ask, but can the Wii do 720p and 1080i, or just 480p?

Freeloader works with the Wii
From GameFAQs: "By now everyone knows that the Wii is not region free, but fret not. I imported all of the Naruto games on gamecube and had to order a boot disk (Freeloader) to get them to with my gamecube. Got my Wii tonight (I am loving this system so far) and decided to test out my import games. The didnt work using them alone, but I used freeloader and now my import games work on my Wii as if they were on my Gamecube. Word of caution: I inserted the freeloader disk, and selected it from the disc channel, the system read it and restarted. Went back to the disc channel again, selected the freeloader and the system took me to the normal freeloader screen and asked me to swap the disk like normal. I am assuming that the freeloader disc needs to be in the system from the start, or it may restart after the first read. Either way it works, and I will be trading in my gamecube tomorrow." This is excellent, especially for myself, as my entire Gamecube collection (five games, oh wow) is american and I'm living in a PAL location. Most amazing jew boots |
A local store here just emailed me asking if I'd be interested in a midnight launch.
I said yes, but if it's going to be insane like the ones stateside, forget it. What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now? |
If they're released by country, this means america won't see Terranigma.
I can't think of any other PAL specific SNES games at the moment. FELIPE NO |
So. Wii is released at midnight here.
I dunno, I have this feeling that the Freeloader won't work and I'll shit bricks. All of my GC games are non-PAL. No websites have confirmed that the PAL Wii actually supports everything the american one does, which sucks. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
If that were the case, they wouldn't be selling so much. There's nowhere I can't reach. |
So I take it the Freeloader works, right Infernal?
This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it. |
I've heard the 1.00 freeloader doesn't work, but the 1.06 one does. Beep. I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body? |
Actually it'd be nice to see Dreamcast games being released on the Virtual Console, but I just don't see it happening. I was speaking idiomatically. |
I'm thinking it's the Wii remote. It could be faulty, and my guess is it's just skipping full recognition. How ya doing, buddy? |
Well there was always this:
Or you could just uhh, reset everything to defaults or something. I dunno, this is exactly why I don't have one (actually, I was waiting until component cables were available here) because launch consoles are pretty sus. FELIPE NO |
Got my Wii. I'd post pictures but it's been bragged about into infinitum already so it isn't really necessary.
How does the Ethernet -> USB cable work for getting the Wii online? It isn't wireless, I know, but it's a lot cheaper than to turn around and buy a wifi dongle. Which I suspect I'll just have to do anyway. Which sucks, because I have like, 1 DS game out of 17 that actually uses wifi. But I'm not too worried about that. I'm worried that my regular shitbrick router won't let anything connect because it's known for having it's problems. What, you don't want my bikini-clad body? |
It isn't, but there's an unofficial one I heard of. Oh, here it is:
Jam it back in, in the dark. |
Does this apply to Wii games only, or will they make a PAL Freeloader which allows imported Gamecube games to work on PAL Wii's?
Because, you know, the PAL Wii doesn't support the 1.06b Freeloader. I've just tried it and I can confirm. Edit: Oh, apparently they made a new Freeloader and released it somewhere early December. I'll have to pick that up. There's nowhere I can't reach.
