[PS2] Kingdom Hearts 2

Well, I just finished the Japanese version today. I absolutely could not resist after I bought one of those special FF12 PS2's.

Couple of things. First, IGN is absolutely nuts. From this day on, I will never ever read another one of their reviews. I just cannot understand how you can give this game such a low score (yes, 7.6 isn't that low when you look at a ten point scale, but as far as reviews go and how everyone looks at them, it is definitely low). Utterly ridiculous.

Second, this game is pure magic. After a certain event happens near the beginning, it instantly became one of my favorite games of all time.

Third, the story is so, so good. Good god, it's so good. I want to play through the game again, right now, but I must study...

Anyways, just letting you all know that if you haven't gotten it yet, it will be worth the wait. Here's hoping the English voices will be good.

That was one of my favorite moments in videogame history.

I don't know what he says in the English version, but when Roxas says, "Sora, I'm so jealous, my summer vacation is over." and then the title screen faded in, I almost started screaming with delight. It was just such an amazing moment to me. The way he delivered the line was perfect, the music was beautiful and everything you had played so far had led to that moment.

yeah but story plots from CoM are sort of explained from flashes but it would be nice to get the rom and play it just to see what happened. I would have done that sooner myself if I knew that it was going to be that important.

Do yourself a favor and do it. You are missing out on a TON of stuff if you haven't played it.

Every Organization XIII member that you really killed in COM is really killed in Kingdom Hearts. In other words, Marluxia, the woman (Lexeus/Lexeon something like that), and anybody else that was killed by Riku or Sora is really killed. They do not show up in part 2 except during some flashback looking things.

Not necessarily true. Most of Sora's story from CoM is insignificant since he forgets it all anyway. Riku's, on the other hand, gives tons of hints about DiZ and the other members, so I recommend playing through that one at least.

What I'm about to say is a spoiler for both COM and 2.

But Sora takes out like 6 members of the Organization. Also, you wouldn't know why Sora is in the egg at the beginning of Kingdom Hearts 2, or why after he wakes up it says in Jimini's journal to thank Namine.

Well, in any case, I think anyone who isn't going to play the game should definitely watch the videos of all of the cutscenes online.

I too, like most people, didn't like the game's combat system at first, but the more I played it the more I liked it. Now I love it and I am even playing through it a second time.

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.
