I would probably go with sacrificing the mouse as well. I was without a keyboard for a week and all I could use was the onscreen keyboard. It was miserable. Plus you can select objects on pages or on your desktop with the keyboard as well (instead of clicking), so the mouse isn't really needed in some cases. And there are so many useful shortcut commands that can be used on a keyboard... my most used being Ctrl+Alt+Del. :B
