This is no curse at all. It is indeed a gift! You get far more done when there are fewer interruptions! I also think differently but it's great, some of my best essays have come from writing them between 2am and 6am. I have had insomnia my whole life so I guess I'm just used to it *shrug*

Replace "essays" with "drawings" and that sums up my entire artistic life. My grandma used to fight like hell with me to get me in bed by 9pm when I was in elementary school...I just can't go to sleep with the chickens

And yes, I enjoy the minimal interruptions from nighttime work...nobody calls you (usually...but I have nocturnal friends also), everybody else is asleep. Of course, I also tend to get a lot done if I wake up early in the morning (like, around 6am).
Jam it back in, in the dark.
