Earlier this week I bought:

* Godchild #1 :: a complete and total surprise, since I didn't think it was going to be released for a while. Now they need to release Cain Saga, since it came out before Godchild...

* Nodame Cantabile #4 :: the artwork isn't that hot, but the story is very cute and it centers around musicians in music school. How can I not like it?

* Antique Bakery #2 :: it's Fumi Yoshinaga! That means the characters are well-developed, it's impeccably drawn, and there's a promise of guy-on-guy action waiting to be shown!

Jam it back in, in the dark.

The local awesome comic shop had a 25% off "manga melee" sale with bubble tea and people from TokyoPop. Nifty. I got some things that I had been wanting to catch up on:

+ 12 which I have no picture of.

and

.

Yay!

There's nowhere I can't reach.

Planning to buy these tonight:

Involves a violinist and music stuff. So I must buy. Only 7 volumes for the whole series.

Yeah, another music-related series -- but this one is yaoi. Lots of yaoi that's music-related.

Asami Tojou has really nice artwork, and the series is only 2 volumes. I value series that are short and self-contained, because I don't want to devote a few years to one series (aside from Violinist of Hameln. Absolutely the only thing I collect that's over 20 volumes).

This thing is sticky, and I don't like it. I don't appreciate it.

Hit the jackpot in a coastal used book store...
(+ 11 more)
they had the complete series for half off! So...entire thing for about $78. It's 12 volumes, and was one of the first series that I read (in the store) when I started getting into manga. That and it's simply a wonderful story; I wish that they would just up and make the movie based on it. I'm convinced it would be very good.

I am a dolphin, do you want me on your body?

Just bought this in a quickie anime spree:

Yes, it's YAAAAOI. And it's quite graphic. I actually have the scanlation of this, but I prefer having the actual book. They're releasing all the stuff that I have scanlated, and I can't help but want to replace it all! Man.

I was speaking idiomatically.

Just picked up some stuff I've been meaning to get for a while:

R.O.D. 4, the last volume. I really like Yomiko Readman, and since this series is so short, I figured I'd better at least finish it. But I'd be lying if I said that the third book wasn't a confusing disappointment.

Il Gatto Sul G, another yaoi series dealing with musicians. For some reason, gay musicians just seem to go together o__O.

What kind of toxic man-thing is happening now?

I'm on a budget, so I never buy my manga at full price (which means waiting for those 20-25% off coupons to wander into my inbox from Borders). That, combined with an utter inability to keep up with anything when I'm in school have made me get massively behind on my 'regular' series -- the ones that aren't stuck in limbo while the author writes more chapters (ie: Hellsing, Alichino, Priest).

That said, I finally got around to buying this:

Two years ago, I honesty didn't think I would see this officially translated. I was scraping around on the internet looking for fan-translations (which were few and far between) and japanese summaries. Now I'm kind of indifferent (much like how I was with the Vampire Hunter D novels, which I also casually buy). Heh. How times change.

Regardless, I'm going to give them a shot. Most people said the books were a lot better than the manga, which I know is better than the anime. I've been a longtime fan of TB before it was even remotely known in the English-speaking world, so I'm glad that it's here. Too bad I've kind of lost a lot of interest in it.

Just picked up the first volume of Trinity Blood: Reborn on the Mars.

I already read the first volume of the sister series Rage Against the Moons, but it doesn't belong to me. I'm enjoying the TB novels well enough, although I'm anxious to start getting beyond what the anime/manga have covered thoroughly. The Vampire Hunter D novels are of more interest to me in many ways.

What, you don't want my bikini-clad body?
