I used to do something like that, except it was more like all the clocks in the house were set 20 minutes ahead (it started as 10 minutes and got faster...), so that when I set the alarm for what time I wanted to get up, it was really 20 minutes earlier. I would panic, and then realize that I really had some time.
Come to think of it, I might start doing that again. It's a nice feeling.
